  1. Transfer wise I think that's correct, they aren't looking to sell them unless they get a very good offer, and even with a very good offer it might not go through because the player doesn't want to leave.
  2. This came about as an issue with one save, but I have noticed it in my others as well. The following is from a previous thread. I am playing Santa Clara in Portugal. Promoted from the 2nd Division, I haver the smallest transfer budget in the League, and the smallest payroll budget. My Finances are shaky, I get 10% of my transfers, and my transfer budget is 203K. Of my 78K payroll allowance, I am spending 73K. Scouting wise I am spending 1.7K a month scouting Portugal, I have a Chief Scout and a Scout. I can't form a B Team or a U19 team because I do not have the payroll available to hire coaches. I have 1.9 million in the bank, This is Giorgi Abuashvili. A Georgian International listed by Porto for loan, he is currently on the B squad. Last season he spent 10 months in le Havre at 1.2K a month. And their finances are a lot better than ours. On my squad, which is not the strongest by a long shot, he is a 4 star player. I can buy him outright for 8 million if I had it, 5.5 up front, 3.1 in payments and another 1.1 after 10 international appearances. This is what they want for him loan wise: How is this a legitimate offer? My Balance right now is 1.9 mil. Getting him would cost me (135*10) x (2400*40) is 1.35M + 96K is 1.446M, which is 75% of my available money. I don't know what sort of accountants Porto has, but if they are looking at my finances and are assuming I can absorb this cost, I don't want them anywhere near my income tax returns. Now, I am currently playing Saint Etienne, it is January of 2024, and there's strange things afoot with the loan Market. It's not broken per se, but some of the decision making by the AI seems to be....questionable. I have uploaded a save, it is ASSE - Start Of Transfer 2024 Window - Jellico.fm All of the following players are at least 2 star current, 4 star potential players. I apologize for the wall of text. Almost All of these players have been listed since the start of the season, and these are the minimums each team is willing to accept. Hampus Findell No Games played. 59K a month, 100% salary and 3.6M optional? Hugo Ekitike. Was a part time starter last season. Initial offer is 175K/350K a month, 70%/100% of salary (25.5K), and 42M Optional fee, for a player they bought last season for 28.5M? Simone Ghidotti. Opposite end of the spectrum maybe. 2.9K a month, full salary (11K) and a 130K future option. Rodrigo Riquelme. Middle of Road. 47.5K A month, 100% of 6.7K salary, 2.8 Optional future fee for a starter. Bright Arrey Mbi. 69K a month/ only asking 20% salary, 5.75 M Optional. Pape Sarr. 175K/350K Month, 80/100 salary split, 34M Optional Fee. Luca Moro. 155K/300K month. 100 salary, 9.25M optional Fee. Eric Dina Ebibme. 105/210K Month, 100% salary, 9.75M Optional fee, 2 bench appearences this season. Doron Leidner 88/175K Monthly, 80/100 salary split, 5.25 Optional Fee Mounir Chouiar. 52K Monthly, 100% salary, 4.1M Mandatory fee, 15 starts, 3 goals, 1 assist, 1 POM this season. Or they want 8.25M for a txfr. Awad Al-Nishiri. 24.5K/49K Monthly, 20/50 salary split, 10.75M optional fee. 8 Starts 2 goals Lucas Munoz, the striker. 34/68 Monthly, 70/100 salary. 2.8 Optional fee, never played a game for the team he is on at the moment.... Elias Britez. 10.5K/21k monthly., 100% salary, 625K Optional fee, Has never played a league game in 7 years, is currently on the 16th ranked team in 2nd Division Argentina? Marquinhos 175K/350K, 60/90 salary, 22M optional Sala Oulad M'Hand 175K/250K, 80/100 monthly, 16.75M Optional. Jake Batty 175K/350K Monthly, 80/100 salary, 21.5 M optional, part time starter for relegation Zone Blackburn Rob Apter 53K/100K Monthly. 80/100 salary, 3.2 M Optional. A mediocre starter for the 20th place team in the Championship? Erik Shurvanov 95/190K Monthly, 100% salary, 2.7 Mandatory fee for a Bundeliga 2 player. Junior Bita 34/68K, 100% salary, 2M optional fee, 12 career games Giuliano Simeone, 66/130K Monthly, 100% salaray (20K), 4M optional Fee, Mads Bistrup 300K/600K Monthly, 100% of 20.5K salary, no starts this season, contract expiring in 6 months. Txfr would be 5.25 up, going to 10. Amidou Diop 33/66K, 100% of salary, 2M optional fee, career 7 games. El Bilal Toure. 300/575K Monthly, 100% salary (5k), 8.25 Mandatory fee. 1 Goal in last 34 games... Adam Idah. 350K/700K, 100% of 22K salary, 9.75M Mandatory fee. 11 goals in 75 games on a Championship Club... Wahid Fahgir. 950K/1.9M MONTHLY, 100% of 21.5K salary, 27M Mandatory fee. I had him in a previous save, he topped out at 150PA. Is 150 PA worth 950K monthly? Would these num,ber come down If I had fully scouted him? Aziz Ouattara 375/7650K Monthly, 1005 of 4.2K salary, 14.25 optional fee, 38 first team starts in 3 years. He's 4 years older and maybe a little better than Junior Bita, but 300K a month better? Ayman Aiki 125K/250K Monthly, 80/100 salary of 8250, 7.5M Optional fee. 4 Career starts I just sold him to Brentford for 1.3 Mil...if I had kept him and tried loaning him out for those numbers would anyone have signed him? Nicolo Amadori 43.5/87K monthly, 100% of 2500 Weekly, Mandatory 4.5M fee. Rob Apter 53K/100K Monthly. 80/100 salary, 3.2 M Optional. A mediocre starter for the 20th place team in the Championship? Now, maybe it's the size of my database causing such discrepancies, (All the leagues and ~450K+ Players) I am sure there are players out there I probably haven't scouted that are just as good as the players I have listed and I can get the in for much less. Like I said in the thread title though, some of these numbers just do not pass the 'Blink' Test in my opinion. I understand paying more for a Premium player, but Fahgir and VFB Stuttgart are currently in 17th place. Meanwhile Salzburg wants 215K/425K monthly, 2K weekly and an optional 12.75 future fee for Karim Konate, and City want 175k/350K Monthly, an 80/100 weekly salary split from 11,500 and an optional 33M fee for McAtee. And I remember from that same previous save Faghir, Konate and McAtee are pretty similar in terms of CA/PA. So why is Faghir going for 4x the asking price of the others? Apter for that much money? Bilal Toure? Jake Batty? From what I can tell it's not player reputation, or team, or league, but I will also admit my knowledge of how the loan market works is a best a powerpoint slide deep. If these were all 17-20 year old 2 star current 5 star potential players, I can see some of the numbers being within the realm of reason. Or maybe the loan market isn't supposed to make sense and it's working as intended. I have a hard time believing that when a player who was loaned out for 1.2K a month last season is now going for 135/275K a month...but stranger things have happened in Finance and economics. Thanks for looking, Jellico
  3. First of all, beautiful skin!!! Which one is it? It's the Musterman skin by GIMN, you can find it on the Skinning forum
  4. From a UI point of view would it be easier to have stats/training/injuries as new tabs?
  5. If I encounter the same issue/situation in the January transfer window I will. Thanks.
  6. The monthly fees came down, the wage bill came down (But i am over my payroll, so the 600 is all I can spend. The optional future fee went up, but the bonus for winning the cup went down And this for a guy who went for 1200 a month last season. The loan market is fine, it's the economics of it that are off.
  7. When I am commenting for the YT Channel, at some point I just give up and start calling everyone by a nickname. Or Dave.
  8. I'm going to rent you a car for 1.2K Euros a month for 10 months. You bring it back, 3 months later you want to rent it again, and the same car is going to cost you 135,000 a month for 10 months. Who's the bigger fool on this side of that equation? Me for offering it for that much; or you for accepting it? I mean, there is a sucker born every minute, so someone might snap him up for that, but given his past loan history, how likely is that? I already know what his baseline loan value is to the club, and while 6 goals and 3 assists is worth an increase in that value, its not worth a 120,000% increase. That's why I think the behind the scenes stuff is off.
  9. You can download the archiver and extract it that way, its a free tool on steam
  10. I've added it without a problem (so far). If you go to any skin that has an instant result, there might be a Instant Results folder for it, just copy/paste it in and reload the skin. The wannachup skin, once you extract it with the archiver, has a panels/match folder, just copy/paste the xml files into the same location on you skin. You may have to move the button around. I can't remember what skin I grabbed the Instant Result panels from, but when I copy/pasted it in I haven't had any issues with it. Will let you know if that changes... Jellico

Braga has a 17yo Striker they are trying to get first team playing time, he's 1 1/2 current 5 star potential. And they want 170k/350K a month... My favorite thus far in this save has been Malcolm Ebiowei, Palace had him listed for loan. They want 500K/1M a month, 100% of his salary covered, and they threw in an optional 38.5M fee as well. The loan process itself isn't bugged. The math behind it though... Jellico
  12. @_Ben_ Here's the first two games from my preseason: https://gyazo.com/970b02c2c0e135d444dcce82c28ef3b4 https://gyazo.com/2ab99a24cfef65e0c628528f143d645a I didj't play that many as I had ECL football, but as you can see, the starting XI was slightly different between both matches, but was also rotated out entirely, with most of the subs being backup 1st team players. I could look into it more at some point, but for the time being, I am not seeing what I would be doing differently. To me, preseason is all about tactical familiarity and staying healthy, and maybe seeing what the promising newgens can do with some first team time.
  13. Yes, I did a couple of different saves just to see how things worked differently, and to try a couple of teams out I was looking at. One was Saint Etienne, which despit a good HOYD and some of the best facilities in France consistently gave me "Meh" newgens, until the Alpha came out of course and then my first Youth Intake was very, very good. Second was Academica in Portugal, seven seasons after getting them out of the 3rd tier and into European football consistently, was still fighting low transfer budgets, low wage budgets, and players moving/choosing a bigger club no matter what I threw at them. And I think it will be the heat death of the universe before I find out how, while playing in Vardar last year in FM 22, my Macedonian Youth Director, who had always found newgens with Macedonian as a first or second nationality because Vardar can only sign players from Macedonia, found me a Cypriot D(C) who was actually decent, and a Brazilian wonderkid DM/M(C), neither of whom, had Macedonian anywhere in their description...
  14. Training camp wise the best thing I have found is you set you tactics and PI's per position, then you clear the entire roster and leave it blank, and have the Assistant coach do all the friendlies. He starts the players who are most fit, rotates them off, everyone get about the amount of playing time and by the season starts, everyone is pretty fit, tactically familiar, and ready to go. Assuming they haven't been injured in the presason...
  15. I don't know how many of us have seen the skin Second Yellow Card is using. But That bookmark option is the second coolest thing I have seen in a skin this year...
  16. The single fig numbers are the rankings on a 1-10 scale, except a couple of categories only have 8 so I multiplied them by 1.25 sortitoutsi.net on the left side of the page, about 2/3rd of the way down, there's a link for club facilities. There's also links to you facilities and that but its the same 'spreadsheet' https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-2023-club-transfer-facilities
  17. The data is all from soritoutsi who update these every year. Training is the rating of the club Training Facilities, Newgens is the quality of Newgens the generates, youth recruiment is how good/extensive that is, Rating is how good the Youth Academies are (taking into account Junior Coaching) Potential is how good they can be. At least thats how I understood it to be. I could well be reading/interpreting something wrong. The hidden numbers not given are the countries youth rating as a whole, and how well football is regarded in the country, but you can get those thru the editor. I was looking at a way to quantify the list a bit better, as an example Man City is going to rank first, because they have the highest rating across the board, but when looking at comparing say, Genk, Fiorentina and Dynamo Kiev, which team has the better youth setup and why? For all I know it could be an exercise in Futility. :-)
  18. Jim, Here is what I cam up with, and I will admit I am not sure how correct it is, in fact it is mostly guess work: More for my own curiosity that anything else, I will also admit I may have gone way to far In the Weeds on this one, or I am reinventing the wheel...or I need to embrace the power of "AND" Take a Teams Training Facilities, grade them on a scale of 1 (Poor) to 10 (State of the Art) Take Newgen Quality (Limited =1, Basic=2, Fairly Basic =3, Adequate =4, Good=5, Excellent=6, Great =7, Superb=8) but because we are using a base 10 scale multiply those by 1.25, so Limited = 1.2 and Superb = 10 Take Youth Recruitment Level (Limited Basic =1 , Fairly Basic =2, Adequate=3, etc etc )but because we are using a base 10 scale multiply those by 1.25 as well. Youth Rating + Youth Potential / 2 Gives Avg Youth Score Overall Youth Score is (Training + NewgenQ)*Youth Recruitment Level Overall Rating is Avg Youth Rating * Overall Youth Score (Rounded for ease) So, if you Sort by Overall Rating you get this: Which at First glance "looks" right, but now I think I am weighing Youth Rating/Potential wrong. Liefering being the outlier thats causing me to say that. What I failed to take into account on this version was the countries investment in soccer. The other thing think I am looking at wrong is how Youth Recruitment and Youth Rating worked together, and how Training facilities work with Potential. At the end of the day its all guesswork. Fun guesswork yes, but still guesswork. Jellico
  19. I crunched the numbers a bit differently on the View From the Touchline discord, and while the results are OK I think they could be better. Will try and post it when I get back in front of the home computer.
  20. It's an interesting color palate, but it works. I am not sure what font you are using, but to me it looks a little off when bolded, and it's not handling the 'special' characters well, but I suspect that's easily fixable. Could also be the bifocals messing with me. Looking forward to what's next1 Jellico
  21. The new deadline transfer window looks very nice! https://gyazo.com/ffb6db21a6e607a55438a9ac4fd3fb8f Jellico
