  1. And if you're ok with companies selling products on new features and then not actually providing them and not responding to questions about it, then I feel for you too. Let's leave it there though.
  2. Sorry mate, should have checked with you first before deciding how big of an issue it was. The Developer used the words "fully licensed" prior to release, and then released without full licensing and then changed the language so it didn't say "fully licensed" anymore. They have then gone completely silent on the matter. If you're ok with that, then fair enough. But please don't tell me what I should and shouldn't find important. Cheers.
  3. @Jack Joyce Thanks for coming into the thread and engaging with the community - I know this is something that doesn't happen elsewhere, so it's appreciated. Any update on the Japan licensing issues though? I am hoping to here that these issues will be resolved, but I suspect that is not the case.
  4. Out of interest, is this worse for teams whose keepers have lower stamina ratings? ie. Keeper with 10 stamina is conceding less than player with 4 stamina?
  5. Yeah, again - agree with everything you have said, aside from the bit where you make out it's acceptable practice from a company to sell a product using language that implies something that isn't true. I'm not going to be asking for a refund, I am going to find a fix and use that, I am not at all going to say that they are as bad as EA, and I am not going to leave a bad review on steam. What I am absolutely going to do though is call out actual sharp and dodgy practice from a company I have trusted for 25 years, and their lack of transparency about it at this point.
  6. Missing the point. This was sold as a "headline feature", and "fully licensed". Not actually true. They clearly should have been transparent with this.
  7. Yes, but making a clear announcement about said licensing issues instead of advertising a "fully licensed Japanese league" isn't out of their hands, is it? The rest of it, agreed - the other things will be fixed. However the issue with Japan, and the misleading info given, is really dodgy ground imo. Struggle to see how there hasn't been a bit of purposeful cloak and dagger behaviour.
  8. Enjoyed what (little) I've played of the beta/early access and full game so far, movement and animations on the match engine are excellent. Pretty disappointing number of issues being reported, and I had noticed the substitution thing myself on the beta. But got to say, think the J-League licensing issues are a bit of a disgrace to be honest - was looking forward to not having to wait weeks for an editor file to have this league active. Think that SI really need to come out and clarify this situation in respect of licensing and if/when this is going to be properly rectified. I know they have said "when assets/licenses become available", but when are we looking at here? Are we looking at days? Weeks? The start of the new J-League season? First time in a long time I've not felt able to defend SI. Really underhand and a bit of a breach of trust tbh.
  9. After some (a lot) of deliberation, I've decided on my club for my first save, which I will play until it gets boring, or until I change my mind & decide to start again - so anything from a week to a year.... Having played since the original Championship Manager on the Amiga, and after skipping FM23 because of a brilliant save I had started in Brazil on FM22, I have decided to again manage in a large country that I've never played in on any version of Football Manager - the Netherlands. After a bit of research, and because they are both based on an island and the people that live there are referred to as "The Sheepheads", I have plumped for FC Dordrecht, who play in the second tier of the Dutch league. Here is there logo, which I think you will agree, is phenominal. Although this is a club with a higher reputation than I would usually start as (2 whole stars!!!), I will still be playing in the (main) spirit of the realism thread, which can be found HERE My manager, however, will not be me. If ever I start higher up than I usually would, I tend to use a former player as my Manager, generally one who has played for Nottingham Forest (the club I support) which gives me an excuse to put them as my Manager's favourite club in the hope I will gradually end up there, and finally win that third European Cup (I've never, EVER managed this on FM - I am quite useless tbh). And so, as he is both Dutch, and not on this year's version of the game (at least in my save), my Manager will be former Forest, Swansea, Wolves & Celtic goalkeeper Dorus de Vries. He's a former professional footballer and I've given him the coaching badges he would need to be allowed to manage at this level; Thankfully, given that I am quite useless as previously mentioned, I've been given a 2 year contract. Not only that, it's safe to say that, in the first season at least, the board's expectations couldn't be much lower. And I would like to think that even I can manage a top half finish within 5 years, but if anyone can turn that into a slog, it's our mate Dorus (me). Squad wise, it's a bit of a motley bunch that I will need to try and get something out of to keep us off the bottom. They look ok at first glance, and there's a 6'6" striker which is the stuff of LLaMa dreams, I feel like a bit of hoofball may well end up being order of the day! No screenshot though, as going to try and avoid player naming or any real tactical discussion as per the usual LLaMa rules. I will be playing quite a few friendlies to try and get my head around the squad, including big local games against Feyenoord, who are my parent club, and ADO Den Haag. And also Preston, who have a sheep on their logo. But not Derby County. Never Derby County. The bookies don't think it will be quite as bad as the board do, but then the board have appointed me so they have probably accepted their fate. Setup wise, I have all out of the box leagues running in 55 countries, with all international players, as well as players of continental reputation added for all continents, giving me 127 playable leagues, and 213k players/staff. Hoping for a long, competitive career, not really sure what my aims are aside from just cracking on & enjoying! Will be updating regularly (probably).....
  10. Where did you find the attributeless skin? Had a look around and can't see one yet for FM24...
  11. Giving this a go on the FM24 Beta. Not sure how far I will get as starting a lot higher up than I normally would, but fascinated with legendary Managers. Will be using a version of Happel's 4-3-3. May well do an update thread in the careers forum.
  12. Not sure yet for the full game. Have started a beta save with Bradford City just to fiddle around as they have a decent squad for their league and no manager. Possible I just stick with that for a bit depending on how it goes before starting a proper llama save. Really high hopes for this version based on what I've seen so far.
  13. 8 minutes exactly, give or take. This is 1 week holiday on FM22 from 5/7/21 - 12/7/21, 202 leagues from 100 nations with 305,000 approx player count. Transfer window on, and unemployed manager - not sure if that adds to the time at all? Using a Huawei Matebook with 16gb RAM & Ryzen 5800H processor at 3.20ghz
  14. "Approx 2 weeks before release"; 2 weeks and 6 days before; "How long it's taking", "concerning"
  15. Surely not tonight when loads of people are watching the England game, you'd think they'd want as much engagement as possible, and tonight is not the night. Here's hoping they've got the Euro 24 license and once England qualify they drop the Beta along with an announcement..... Realistically though, I have all night tonight to play and am off work tomorrow, so will be Thursday
  16. I will have a look at time to holiday a week over the next few days - fm22 but still should give you some idea
  17. I have every league set as active/playable out of the box, and once @DaveTheEditor has released his files, usually go for about 100 countries. It's slow, but I want as immersive a world as possible. I tend to leave the game running on my laptop all of the time and pick it up and put it down in between doing other stuff so the speed isn't usually an issue. Skipped FM23 but I think I read it was a bit faster than FM22 and that FM24 is expected to be even quicker, which is really good news for me, anyway.
  18. Anyone had any thoughts about where their FM24 careers will start?
  19. In time for international weekend would be wonderful. Away for a few days from 22nd though and wouldn't be able to play, so that's when it will happen
