This can't be right can it ? I have just been offered the Mali national team job despite the fact that I am Sunday League reputation and also my attributes as you can see in the post above are rubbish. This is surely a bug. This wouldn't happen in real life. What do I do @vikeologist do I accept it or would it be too easy of a start? Have I messed up in setting up my manager ?

The Journey Begins So I have decided to tackle this soul crushing challenge again lol. God help me lol. Anyway I have decided to start in North America as I hate the MLS structure and would rather get that out of the way. My aim is to get a Canadian Premier League job and then try get a MLS job if I am doing well with the Canadian team. Here is my set up. I hope this is all ok @vikeologist Only 4 jobs available so it might take me a while to get a job but I don't mind that. There are a lot of International Jobs available that I might be able to get like the Aruba, Saint Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis etc. That would be fun to manage a national team to start off with. I will update everyone when I get my first job.

I appreciate the detailed response explaining and I respect you enough to know what you think works and doesn't work. My main issue is only 1 African league as I enjoy managing in the African leagues but the lack of African leagues is more of a general annoyance of FM then an annoyance of the challenge. For some reason I wanted to start this challenge in America first by maybe starting in the leagues below the MLS and work my way into a job with one of the MLS teams etc. If we aint allowed to add the lower leagues or America then I could start in the Canadian Premier League couldn't I? Would that be ok @vikeologist

@vikeologistI am thinking of starting this challenge for FM2022 but before I start I was just wondering are we still not allowed to play in unofficial countries or added leagues. Like for example if I wanted to start in the American lower leagues or Thailand etc then would we allowed to manage in there as I understand cos they aint official there might be issues but I don't think it makes the challenge easier. I just think it might make it more realistic. Obviously if it aint allowed that is fine.

Yeah he should do well initially for you but maybe as you progress up the league you might want to sell him on as his potential is limited. He would be good for a lower mid table Prem team but if you get into Europe I would look for an upgrade.

Iago doing really well for me at Lyon and I think you will struggle to get a work permit for Lucca but I hope you do as he is awesome.

@MattyLewis11 the youth gens coming through at Lyon are insane. Look at this talent Colman Saintini. Have you had your youth intake yet ? Any good players coming through ?

Very nice mate. I hope he continues doing well for you. Dembele now has 39 goals in 33 games and his value has skyrocketed to £44m-£58m.

Nice to see you are progressing well with Lyon and good to see Dembele banging the goals in for you. He currently has 11 goals in 16 games. I have not played him in every game to keep him fresh as I like to rotate for Cup games and Europa League games against lesser teams. Here is a screenshot of Dembele for me. I also signed him to a long term contract and his value is now rated at £22-29m but I wont be happy to sell him for anything less then £40m at least. I will be rejecting low offers even if it upsets him. Sorry for bombarding your thread. I am really enjoying seeing how you manage Lyon as it enhances the enjoyment in my save.

Cheers buddy. Do you scout regions or countries or just leave it up to your Chief Scout and you just ask them to search for players with the key attributes ?

@MattyLewis11 awesome thread so far. I had a great save with Lyon on FM2019 and yet to go back to them but I am thinking of doing a Lyon save and sticking to how you do it with the DNA. I might focus more on bringing in African based players and the occasional South American player but also having the aim of bringing through the young players at the club. I look forward to seeing who breaks through from the youth team and who you bring into the club who have the key attributes you need for the OL DNA.

Enfield Town FC Season 6 Review Sky Bet League One - 27/28 Season - 9th We exceeded expectations with a 9th position finish. 1 point away from the play offs Hopefully we can get into the Play Offs next season. We had another good FA Cup run with us losing to Aston Villa in the Quarter Finals. Key Players Ricky-Jade Jones - 25 Year Old English Striker I signed Ricky-Jade Jones for a bargain price of £275k from Peterborough and he has been good so far. He hasn't played every game this season as I also had 2 other strikers who were doing well for me. Jones managed to get 15 goals in 27 games. I think if he played every game this season he would of scored double that. Nigel Knott - 20 Year Old English Centre Back Knott was an upgrade on Kaelan Casey who unfortunately started playing rubbish and was moaning a lot so I replaced him with Knott who was a free transfer from Sheff Utd. Knott has been brilliant this season and helped me forget about Casey. He managed to get a couple of goals and also got the best average rating at the club. Lawrie Parker-Trott - 19 Year Old English Striker Lawrie was hot to Trott with 11 goals from 18 games since he come on loan from Arsenal in January. I am hoping to get him back on loan for next season as he was brilliant on loan. Enfield FC Season 5 Review Sky Bet League One - 26/27 Season - 15th A nice mid table season for my first season in League 2. We were quite close to the play offs at one point but tailed off near the end. I also managed to get to the FA Quarter Finals losing to 6-3 to Chelsea. Key Players Jamie Soule - 26 Year Old English Striker A decent debut season in League One for Soule with 13 goals in 24 games. He was injured a bit and I also played other players. I think if he played more he would of scored more. I am hoping he gets a few more to get us promoted next season. Kaelan Casey - 22 Year Old English Centre Back Kaelan Casey aka Mr.Enfield has had another superb season in central defense with a solid display and always performing at his best. He is going to be the Fans Player Of The Season for the 3rd season in a row. He also had the best average rating of 7.15. Mark Robson - 24 Year Old English Winger Robson played very well on either wing for me. He got the most assists at the club with 11 and 7 goals. Enfield Town FC Season 4 Review Sky Bet League Two - 25/26 Season - 5th(Promoted Through The Play Offs) A great season for us with us getting promotion to League One. We also managed a nice little FA Cup run with us getting to the 4th round with us eventually losing to West Ham 2-0. Key Players Jamie Soule - 25 Year Old English Striker Jamie Soule was our main man up front with 27 goals and 5 assists. He is doing well and I think he can make the step up to League One football next season. Kaelan Casey - 21 Year Old English Centre Back Our best player again was Kaelan Casey. Solid as a rock again and got the best average rating of 7.34. Only 21 years old as well. He will only get better. Dave Morgan - 19 Year Old Welsh Winger Dave Morgan is a Welsh winger we have on loan from West Brom and he has been amazing this season with the most assists at the club with 10. A very good addition who I am hoping to keep on loan for another season or 2. Enfield Town FC Season 3 Review Sky Bet League Two - 24/25 Season - 13th A nice, safe mid-table finish is the best I could of asked for from these players making the step up from part time to full time. Something to build on for next season. I want to get into the play offs next season or at least a bit higher up the league. Key Players Jamie Soule - 24 Year Old English Striker I managed to sign Soule on a free transfer and he has been amazing. A striker I can see scoring in the Prem with us in a few years. He is very good. 18 goals and 8 assists for the season. I know he can score more as well. I am excited to see what he can do next season. Kaelan Casey - 20 Year Old English Centre Back My super centre Kaelan Casey has had another outstanding season for us. He was the solid foundation that keep us in the league. He also got our best average rating with a 7.44. Jack Baxter - 24 Year Old English Winger Super Jack Baxter was our creative force for the season with 9 assists and he also got 10 goals. A very good player we got on a freebie from Preston. Enfield Town FC Season 2 Review Vanarama Conference - 23/24 Season - 7th Place Finish - Promoted Through The Playoffs We hit form at the right time and managed to just scrape into the play offs and then went on a well timed winning run with us beating Torquay in the Play Off 1st round 3-1, beating Exeter 2-1 in the Semi's and then finally beating Wrexham in the Play Off Final 2-1. We overachieved again. Key Players Muhammadu Faal - 26 Year Old Gambian Striker Faal stepped up again and ended up scoring more goals this season then he done last season. 26 goals in 45 games. I am hoping he stays with us until we get into the Prem as it would be cool to bring a few of the players I started with up with me but a lot of them aren't good enough to play in League 1 never mind the Prem. Faal might be the exception. Kaelan Casey - 19 Year Old English Central Defender Casey got the best average rating in the club and was solid in the centre of defence. He loves a yellow card though with him picking up 20 yellow cards but luckily only 1 red card this season. Casey Pettit - 20 Year Old English Central Midfielder Pettit was very good in central midfield with 11 goals and 9 assists. He also had a very good average rating of 7.04.
