HL7
Aston Villa Update Things were very average for my team tonight. We look like we may have the potential to challenge for the league in a couple of years time, but right now we don't have the depth or the quality to succeed. Many of my "stars" from the Division One campaign cannot perform anywhere near as well in the Premiership, and they've either been transfer listed or dropped, the most unexpected casualty was Alan Frampton, who has been absolutely dire since we were promoted. After criticisms from Fulham manager Nuno Santos, I decided to take a risk and try a completely new formation for this session. It was the recently developed 1-3-4-2 formation which has worked reasonably well since it's been implimented. The starting line-up looks like this:
FC FC AMC / \ / \ ¦ ¦ DML DMC DMR DC DC DC SWC GK
We have a few defensive problems, bottom of the table Millwall offered a paltry £1.4m for star sweeper Ahsley Lythe, which I turned down, however, I didn't expect Lythe to be angry at not being allowed to move clubs when I turned down the move, so he is now transfer listed, and was on his way to Blackburn (i think) when I left last night. I signed one of my former players, Trent McClenahan from West Ham as he is a very young and talented sweeper who will replace Lythe. I could use another Centre Back as well, as I only signed two during the pre-season and I lost Alpay on a free to Fulham. Paterson and Rommedahl have been very effective in the wide areas, however, despite being voted my best player last year, Bosko Balaban hasn't looked threatening at all, often missing the target by miles. Keigan Parker has started the season promisingly though. Teemu Tainio has been outstanding too, scoring quite a few goals from midfield, and proving that he's quite the freekick specialist. Sylvain Legwinski has been an outstanding backup, and could even dislodge Jun-Ichi Inamoto from the starting eleven. If anyone has a good sweeper and a good centre back they don't want, feel free to let me know
Guest
Christinval, brilliant sweeper, only cost yer around hmm...lets say £7.5m? As for centre-backs, Tamsz Klos is available at 1m Don't think any would want to join lowly Villa though

Guest
########## FULHAM UPDATE ########## Can’t really find the words to describe what the hell is happening to my team this season. Champions League can’t be an excuse, as before we started to play it, things were already looking bad. This session was much the same as the last one, we managed to get just 5 wins in 13 matches. Here’s what happened: We started with a visit to St. James Park with Newcastle as adversary. Both teams concluded the game with ten players as Mr.Elleray was on a bad mood that night. We scored first for Said but near the half time Mettomo made the equalizer. Final Result: 1-1 Next one was supposed to be trouble-free, but a disgraceful defeat at the Cottage against Wolves nearly blew my head out. Final Result: 0-2 Then came the CL Phase 1 fifth game vs. Milan. Supported by our fans we took the lead by Mendonça and we should have won it with easiness, if those bloody strikers didn’t miss so many chances. In the last ten minutes, the Italian giants made a suffocating pressure on us, to what we couldn’t resist. Di Biagio scored three minutes from the final whistle and we lost there a chance of an early qualification. Final Result: 1-1 The next one was one of the most thrilling matches I ever played as Fulham manager. We went to Liverpool a bit apprehensive as they have a very competitive squad. My worst fears took form and by 60th minute we were 1-3 down and playing with nine men only after Chiotis red card and Saha’s injury. (By that time I hadn’t subs left to make). If someone thought we would be humiliated with a ruthless defeat, my team proved them wrong. I took a look at my opponent tactics, changed a bit of my tactic, changed player instructions, w/wo ball screens and I proved that it isn’t all up to Sabex. Kerr at 71st and Kaluzny at 78th took part in a moment of glory and we could even had win the match if that bloody Dudek didn’t make some great saves in the last few minutes. Final Result: 3-3 Champions League once again and a shocking defeat playing home against Fenerbahce. So a decision would take place a week later at Ibrox Stadium. Final Result. 0-2 The first victory of this session came a few days later, we beat Ipswich two nill with Daniel Cruz scoring twice. Final Result: 2-0 Then came our first League Cup match, we were playing Man City from D1. A shocking 0-2 at half time turned into a final 4-2 with Zetterberg and Postiga sharing the goals. Final Result: 4-2 Stamford Bridge was next and a draw was the best we could get. Earnshaw for the Blues and Ilola for us were the men who put the round one in the back of the net. Final Result: 1-1 At Ibrox all would be decided regarding CL qualification. A draw was sufficient for us to go through, but Zetterberg, Postiga and Cruz gave no chance to the Scottish geezas. HL7 would love to see that if he was in the game by that time. Final Result: 3-0 After this I was disconnected and when I came back later I looked at my results. My assistant manager led us to a comfortable win vs. Tottenham. Zamora and Zetterberg scored twice each. Final Result: 4-0 Then it was Mackem vs. Nuno big clash, oh dear how I would like to be online at that moment just to kick his sorry arse and humiliate him in front of all mackems. But his bloody Sunderland took advantage of my players missing his charismatic leader and beat us 3-1. Saha scored for us. Final Result: 1-3 Second stage of CL and Besitkas was the first challenge. We came back from Turkey with an easy win, with Zamora, Lundén and Saha making it 3-0 at half time. A goal by Nonda was the best Besitkas could do on second half. Final Result: 3-1 My connection got back to normal just in time to play the last game of the session. . Argie was my antagonist and it was the first time ever we were meeting. We played already a pre-season friendly, but I was on holiday then. This league match was intensive and very even but nothing came out of it, it ended with a 0-0 draw. Fair result, IMO. Final Result 0-0 On the transfer market, I sold the 33 yr old keeper Mayk Taylor to Shrewsbury on a £ 375k fee. Nice deal as this was his last year contract and he stood no chance against the likes of Chiotis or Voulgaris. To improve our options in the attacking midfield, we signed in Johan Elmander from Feyennord on a free transfer. I know what this lad is capable of and hopefully he’ll have an active role on Fulham’s resurgence.

Guest
Blackburn's Inconsistant Update Manchester United - Away - League Cup Quarter-Finals Manchester United target Nils-Eric Johanssen decided the out come of the game with a winner. Final Score 1-0 Roll on the semi-final West Bromwich Albion - Home - League West Brom were simply ... too good. They game was at 2-2 with goals from Tamudo and Jansen for me and Djalminha and Pahars for the Baggies, but in the second half West Brom showed their class with goals from Djalminha Pahars and Diego Alonso Final Score 2-5 I need to bring more goals to my side so i brought in Influential attacking midfielder Jari Litmanen for 1.2m from Liverpool. Along with Jari came West Ham defensive midfielder Ragavald Soma for 1.1m Sheffield Wednesday - Away - League The most entertaining game of the Premiership, without doubt. Vasilyuk took the lead for the Owls only for Panayi to level the scores. Sutton and Bonomi scored once again for the Owls only for a Tamudo brace and a goal from new-boy Litmanen to make it 5-3, Riordan grabbed a late goal and Blackburn held on dispite a late serge. Final Score 5-4 Sean Davis and Marnix Smit joined Blackburn for 1.1m and 400k respectivly. Davis came with a poor reputation after being dumped in the Villa reserves. Smit is a 24-year-old Dutch centre-back. Arsenal - Home - League A Tamudo early brace gave Blackburn a comfortable lead only for a Bergkamp goal and a 87th minute equalizer from Petta shared the points. Final Score 2-2 Newcastle - Away - League A joyous day at Sid James' Park, the miserable fat geordie twáts were sent home drinking one less Broon Ale as Blackburn tanked them with goals from Litmanen, Jansen and Mellberg. It should have been more as Blackburn registered 22 shots. Final Score 3-0 Millwall - Away - League Uriah Rennie showed exactly why he is hated by everyone!!!!! He sent off Soma after 9mins and Kibebe after 32mins and ALSO Mellberg after 42mins . This left the door open for Rowan and Sadlier to score for the boys from the New Den. Final Score 0-2 Aston Villa - Home - League Mike's Villa were seriously given a lesson in slick class passing football. Neill, Litmanen again and Sigporsson sent the Rovers faithful home happy . Final Score 3-0 West Ham United - Away - League Joao Paiva got the hammers off to a great start only for Mellberg and top-scorer Jansen to give Blackburn the lead, Labant stepped up with a late late penalty to sneak a draw . Final Score 2-2 Media begin to question Johanssen's form , and rightly so! His form in the last 4 games was pathetic, 6-6-6-5 i ofcourse backed my star defender as i know he is class and capable of being one of the best in the world, especially with Man Utd still chasing him for around £15m, which now looks tempting. Jari Litmanen has been an inspiration with 4 in 5 games! I also look forward to playing Steve's Sunderland in the League Cup Semi-Final, anmd i can hopefully pick up some sort of silverware, i wont win the league, and the FA Cup is a doubt with Boro in the third round, so the League cup will be my main competition this year. Guest
Well we still lead the table after some tricky league games Results and Scorers
1.12.04 Brighton H League Cup 4th Rnd 3:0 15570 Weston og, Paanels, Pahars
I wasnt there for this game but my assistant did well enough to set up a game with Fulham in the Quarters
4.12.04 Blackburn A Premier Division 5:2 33885 Djalminha 2, Pahars 2, Diego Alonso
Once again missed this match and my assistant beat a strong Blackburn side
7.12.04 Lille FRA H Champions Cup Ph.2 Grp D 2:1 29543 Tiko, Pahars
Also missed this game and my assistant yet again was good for me
12.12.04 Man Utd H Premier Division 2:1 28961 Djalminha, Tiko
I returned for this big game and a welcome return it was as one of the best teams in the league were outplayed. Close game but we won it mainly because of a sending off although i just think we were better than them
15.12.04 Fulham A League Cup Qtr Final 2:0 25476 Forlán, Strand
Didnt put out my top squad for this game but i am happy to see that i am in the semi final against Coventry where i hope to gain a spot in the Final
19.12.04 Sheff Wed A Premier Division 0:0 37162
Possibly my worst result of the season although Sheff Wed shown great spirit i think John would agree he was a bit lucky but i have been more than lucky against him in the past.
22.12.04 Leeds H Premier Division 2:0 28974 Diego Alonso, McAteer
Excellent home victory with Roy Carroll doing very well to keep out Harry Kewell
26.12.04 Newcastle A Premier Division 4:0 47544 Diego Alonso 3, Gudjohnsen
looks a good result but with Newcastle in 18th its not that good i guess
28.12.04 Arsenal H Premier Division 3:0 28979 Gudjohnsen, Diego Alonso, Tiko
Another excellent home display beating another one of the top teams in the league
1.1.05 Fulham A Premier Division 4:0 19274 Gudjohnsen, Djalminha pen, Diego Alonso 2
Good way to end the session although it shouldnt have been 4. Nuno was unlucky as he finished the game with 9 men next league game is Arsenal away so will we have to be on top form to get anything out of that game. getting 1 or 2 players on a bos at the end of the season and i am looking forward to re-starting the Champions league since i won my first 2 games in the second group stage. Diego Alonso has also been awsome the leagues top scorer will be hungry for more goals £5.5m star Gudjohnsens start to his W.B.A. career has been awsome and he may get better in time. I have been very impressed with my DMCs Petrov, McInnes and Prutton have all been class this season and i hope for more of the same from them well thats all from me look forward to next session on Monday Kev
MACKEM
Back page headlines in the Daily Express this morning LAWSON DRINK SCANDAL AT STADIUM OF LIGHT `this morning Sunderland football club released a statement saying how disgusted they were at the state of their top-line manager Steve Lawson. He appeared to be absolutely rat-arsed and unable to manage a coherent sentence while in charge of the team. He managed to lose £20 million worth of talent by letting go of Craddock and Malbranque and he also spilt some lager down his new club tracksuit. We have fined him 2 crates of Stella and wont be taking the matter any further as he is doing a fantastic job and we believe he is without doubt the best young manager in the league. He has promised to brush up his act and will not be touching a drop for at least 3 hours. A club spokesman said today. Lawson replied "thanksh very much (hiccup)

HL7
**Aston Villa "Update"** This was a bit of an up and down session for me, I decided to discard the flair football we used in Division One for the more grit and determination outlook that Leicester City had under Martin O'Neill, i.e, boring Maybe I am aiming too low with my damage limitation tactics, but on the whole they have worked. I held Jone's Middlesbrough to a 0-0 draw, in fact, i've held most teams to a 0-0 draw I'm unhappy though, i've decided i'd rather lose 5-0 with attacking football than 1-0 with defensive football. This is the main reason why I have went back to the drawing board so to speak and work on my 4-4-2 Diamond tactic that was really coming together before I changed it. I've also struggled badly down the left hand side of the pitch, with Jim Paterson succumbing to a 2 month injury, and Sylvain Legwinski (his replacement) also on the treatment table. Right now my Villa team is sitting in a lower mid-table position, which is slightly lower than I was hoping for, I honestly expected to be challenging for one of the last European places, but maybe next year, right now I would like to get some consistency in the team. For some reason I also divulged my main tactical beliefs to John last night, basically telling him how my tactic works I really am stupid sometimes

Guest
FULHAM SESSION REPORT Another inconsistent session for my team:
1.12.04 Millwall H League Cup 4th Rnd 2:0 12610 Kaluzny, Stewart 5.12.04 Man Utd A Premier Division 2:1 59236 Cruz 2 8.12.04 Dortmund GER H Champions Cup Ph.2 Grp B 0:0 24931 11.12.04 Bolton H Premier Division 4:0 20687 Saha 2, Postiga, Ilola 15.12.04 W.B.A. H League Cup Qtr Final 0:2 25476 19.12.04 Middlesbrough A Premier Division 1:3 31460 Kerr 22.12.04 Sheff Wed H Premier Division 1:1 19577 Lundén 26.12.04 Arsenal A Premier Division 3:2 38416 Saha pen, Zetterberg, Lundén 28.12.04 Leeds A Premier Division 1:4 35902 Kerr 1.1.05 W.B.A. H Premier Division 0:4 19274
. Premier League There we are, the title holders lying in a sad 12th position. Before this session started I knew already that keeping the title would be impossible because of W.B.A. outstanding performance (19 wins and 2 draws in 21 games must be some feckin world record ), so I turned on my batteries to fight for a CL qualification. But now I'm 11 points behind 4th place (argie's Blackburn) and the only chance I think of qualifying is by being European Champions this season. Of course I don't have many expectations about this, so my target now is a Uefa Cup qualificattion or in the worst case scenario get a place in Intertoto Cup. Less than that and I'll be probably selling Big Issue in London's Metro , Al Fayed is not the most patient man on Earth and people have short memories. Still I had some good moments in this session such as going to Old Trafford and beating one of the hardest teams in PL, Manchester United. The young bloke Daniel Cruz scored our two goals and we had a deserved win 2-1. Strange thing about my team this season is that we can surprise in the less expected situations and then be completely bullsh*t when we're expected to have a win. To prove it we beat also Arsenal away, a very intensive match where we were twice in advantage (1-0 and 2-1) then the Gunners drew but a last minute goal by Jonas Lundén made our fans happy after this emotive derby. Against human managers, I'm being completely trashed, first we lost 1-3 at The Riverside (damn you Jone ) where the only good thing that happened to me was one of my players injuring their star striker Konstantinou for 8 months. Then again we had a shameful defeat at the Craven Cottage vs W.B.A. 0-4 (damn you Kev ) in a game where we had Chiotis sent-off and geting a 5 match ban and Kerr injured when all substitutions have been made. League Cup On 4th round we had an easy game against Millwall. My reserves did well and beat them 2-0. Then on Quarter Finals the draw was hazardous and we had to play the unbeatable W.B.A. Though I think I should have won this game because my team was better and Kev had all the luck and a super Roy Caroll, maybe being kicked of this competition was the best thing for Fulham, our calendar is full enough with CL matches so we left Worthless Cup with a smile on our faces. Champions League This session we just played a CL match, it was home vs Borussia Dortmund, we drew 0-0 and our hopes are still high in geting through this stage. We are 2nd in the group 3 points ahead of the 3rd, Borussia. Transfer Market I had to leave the game for 20 minutes and when I came back, my assistant had just sign Steve Stone at the age of 33... Of course I transfer listed him, so any offers will be more than welcome. I'm building a great squad for next season with big names coming in. I'm in talks with others and I'll reveal the Bosmans I'll sign after being sure of who's coming and who's not coming. That's it.

A high point came where we qualified for the Uefa Cup 4th round with a 3-2 win over Locamotive Moscow. Hopefully something good can be gained this season via the Uefa Cup. Against Human managers I have a decent record, drawing most of them. Unfortuantely we lost in the game of the season 5-4 to Blackburn(Stewy), although I probably had more shots, Blackburn seemed to be a lot more clinical and probably created the better chances. Due to my awful season I have even started to mess with the with/without ball screens, and to be honest i'm not sure if its working My aim now has to be to finish in the top 10 to even have a chance of the inter-toto cup.
