AEK gave us the first league loss of the season.

Hristov had 6 months left on his deal and he wanted to explore his options. I take the 2 mio from Fiorentina now.

In the 2nd half of the season, he exploded.

In the end Martino did win the double, but in the end we struggle a bit.

Europe was a big disappointment from him.

After the season I looked at the job center.

Jobs like Man City, Napoli, Atletico are open.

Also Sevilla and Nice, so I applied for them.

 

I think I learned everything I need to learn and its time for a challenge.

Last season Nice was in the EL final.

 

In 2023/24 Nice reached the ECL semi final.

 

In 2022/23 Nice won the ECL.

Sevilla finished 4 time midtable with nothing notable.

OGC Nice - Coach Search

 

The currenty club culture and current status of the squad basicly saying 442 Diamond or 5 ATB.

With that in mind, here are the candidates:

 

Option 1: Christophe Galtier

 

The former Nice coach would be the perfect choice.

Sadly we can offer only max 900k in wages, so why would he take a pay cut?

Option 2: Ivan Leko

 

Leko does a brilliant job a Club Brugge.

He fits the DNA and it would be a step up for him.

Option 3: Bo Svensson

 

Svensson does a solid job at Mainz.

Nice would be a step up, but we cant offer the wages.

Option 4: Dominico Tedesco

 

Tedesco is currently with Augsburg in the 2. Bundesliga.

He would fit the DNA, but he is not a good manager.

Option 5: Paolo Zanetti

 

Zanetti got an outside chance.

He managed to survive with Empoli every year.

And he got them into the Copa Italia semi final last season.

Option 6: Sebastian Hoeneß

 

The only unemployed manager who fits the DNA would be Sebastian Hoeneß.

But he got not the reputation or the quality.

I decided to appoint Ivan Leko as the Nice manager.

Pretty good preseason.

Hopefully we can play like that in the league.

 

We start with a home game against Montpellier and on the 2nd day we got a already a big test in Lyon.

Very good start to the season.

The squad is looking good and Leko seems to get the best out of them.

Sensi is a solid backup midfielder for free.

Traore is our first wonderkid of this save. I saw him on the NXHN list. 9 mio is a steal.

We need more French players next season, so Esteve is a solid option.

Sabaly is a backup wingback for cheap.

For Gourna-Douath we got a 13,75 mio option, lets see if Leko uses him.

Giese was also on the NXGN list.

Abdelkader I wanted at Olympiakos, but he fits in here more.

We only lost 0:1 against PSG and this was pretty unlucky.

Leko is doin really good and just produces results with the team.

Only 2 pts and nice gap to 3rd place.

And we beat Marseille in the cup.

No chance against PSG in the cup.

 

But in the league they struggle a little bit.

My new PC: i9-13500kf / 32 GB RAM / GTX 3060 ti

I basicly bought him just for FM.

 

My old PC: I5-6500 / 16 GB RAM / GTX 1060

Could handle 10-12 nations with tier 1 and tier 2 loaded pretty easy.

 

Tipps for playing as DoF:

1) Start with a bigger team and dont rush it.

 

2) Since the game is limited the ingame editor is honestly necessary.

You can do it the hard way and only sign ass mans, but adding real managers is more fun.

 

3) If you want to watch the game, which I recomment (two different match engines), you need add a second manager.

Once you know how to use the holiday function right, it goes pretty smooth.

 

4) You always need to look at the managers formations and playstyle before signing player.

For e.g. the 4231 uses DM as default.

You can sign a world class CM or wonderkind CM, but if he doesnt know the DM position, he will never play him and also he wont retrain him.

 

5) Also dont get attached to players.

If the manager doesnt use the player and the player get mad...well I time to sell the player.

 

4+5 you can change depending on how much realism you want to bring in.

I like this way of playing the game and would be great if they could add this as an option. When I play OOTP Baseball, most of the time I'm the GM/Manager, but there are times when I just want to be the GM, which is like the Football Director in football.

There are two engines.

One for quick sim and one for visual sim.

 

I like to watch the games, so I always will recomment it.

 

Ofcause you can use instant result.
