I wanted to do the De Zerbi but I created something more something else

Recommended Posts

First Time Poster here and constant lurker(mind my English as it isn't my first language)

As with alot of other FM tacticians in our community

I have been intrigued by the beauty of the type of football played by (Roberto De Zerbi) an Italian manager with a unique style of play

With emphasis on provoking the press and creating Semi Counters

I do not claim to be a tactical expert in any way😂,infact I think I'm terrible in making tactics but after reading from various forums and watching tons of tactical analysis vids

I thought I was ready to make one

Let's go

So I'll start with the basic shape of a every De Zerbi tactic (a 4-2-3-1 that becomes a 4-2-4 due to the AM and Striker moving to the sides)

So basically here's what come up with in terms of shape

       DLF(AT)

IW(AT)      AM(SU)   W(SU)

     DM(SU)  DLP(SU)

FB(AT)  CD  CD  IWB(SU)

              Sk(AT)

Next Post is tomorrow 👍🏽😇

Example of the build-up I achieved against Man United

The two centre backs are beside the GK and my two defensive mids (Caicedo and Mac Allister irl) are close to each other mirroring real life

My two fullbacks are extremely wide and deep to offer passing lanes and to create that 2-4 build up in the 1st phase

My four attacks are high up the pitch pushing the backline and are occupying the same zone creating that 4-2-4 shape that Brighton often use in real lifeIMG_20230620_122555.jpg.f45e82b59c67528f4a616904dbc05d6a.jpg

Here we see my Onana make the pass to Gvardiol provoking the opponents to start their press

Here he has options with the #5 and can even easily pass #19 or even go long to #7 and take 5 players out of the game

Gvardiol passes Davies and as you can see my two DMS(#5 and #12) are moving together like irl my inverted winger #20 drops down to offer another option while simultaneously stretching the opponents defence with my other Winger #7 which creates 1v 1 situation that my wingers can easily exploit

Davies makes a sensational killer ball to Haaland #9 and we've successfully defeated their press creating a mini counter

we went on to score this due to Haaland turning to MESSI and dribbled wide and gave a low cross to #20

Very very promising dude. Can't wait to see full tactic - when will you post it?

Soon

I've just been busy recently

I'm looking to drop tactical insight on it first as it can get a bit shaky without the right "De Zerbi" player

This is looking rather good mate! Need to see the full tactic - TI, PI’s etc as yours is looking more promising than anything I’ve seen or created.

Incredibly impressed and intrigued bud 👍🏻

Thank you for the nice words

I'll certainly post more on it

Veed.io is a good place to compress them

I'm sorry for the long wait

I was busy for a while but I'm free now

Moving on to my TACTICAL RECREATION

This is in no ways a plug and play tactics and might require a bit of Man Management

Let's get right in

TACTICAL SYSTEM

Starting from the back, arguably the most important role we have a sweeper keeper who mops up through passes from the opposition and is comfortable with the ball at his feet.He must be decent with his distribution and have good composure.A sweeper keeper on defence will do the job fine (but I use a sweeper keeper on attack because I have Onana one of the best sweeper keepers)

My Left back is more attacking and will provide that nice linkup and would get in with goals too be underlaping and overlapping the inverted winger. He has the PIs of "cross from the byline" and "sit narrower".The role of my rightback (Groß) the inverted wingback is to provide that link up anywhere in the pitch also be that wide option if space appears out wide.He must be right footed to limit his tendency to invert a little. He is told to get "further forward"

My two CBs are told to stay wide with the one with lesser passing ability told to take fewer risk to encourage that build up play (it is imperative that both centerbacks have the "tries to play way out of trouble trait learnt to prevent unnecessary hoofing of the ballScreenshot_2023-06-25-16-52-49-577_com_sega.score.touch.thumb.jpg.635824d9dc137636dde49daee878894f.jpg
