Cup success was very nice. Congrats.

Doing consistently well in the league, each year challenging the mighty Bayern.

I like seeing the squad evolution, really enjoying this one still.

Thank you :)

Glad to hear you´re still enjoying it! We will try to continue to impress :)

FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

2026/27 Season Summery

spacer.png

Dennis Seimen lead a team of great youngsters this season. The oldest player with an age of 31 was our 3rd keeper Zetterer and he doesn´t count :) Backup keeper Christensen played in the DFB Pokal and we won it. New arrival Zeze became a first teamer right away and led our central defense alongside Pfeiffer. Guldener continued this development, Aude did his job. Zagadou did not impress that much this season and he will not have his contract extended. Same goes for Alena. Borset & Mack mostly came from the bench but were able to show some convincing performances. New midfield maestro Frattesi took control of the center right away, alongside fellow new signing Moriba. Braunoder will have to fight for his place next season. Popovic was of course our player of the year, but our right winger Roony comes close. He does not score much but he is such a great assist-maker it´s a joy to behold. Same can be said of Ulrich on the left wing of course. And look at the figures Ibrahimovic brought to the table this season: He is not a regular starter but managed to amass 28 scorer points! Jutgla showed that he is more a striker than a winger and Botheim -despite often coming on as a sub- also scored a lot. Winter signing Zalazar easily fit into the team and showed that he can be a good alternative. However, we need even more quality in defense and attack.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II finished in a nice 6th place in 3. Liga this season. Against all odds, they were leading the table for a long stretch of the season until ultimately getting overtaken by the usual suspects.

VfB Stuttgart U19 finished 3rd in their league and lost in the semi final of the DFB Pokal der Junioren to Bayer Leverkusen U19s. They also did make it to the 1st knockout round of the UEFA Youth League where they lost against Dortmund U19s. This years intake was ok, it can´t be predicted easily what the next year brings.

I am really starting to hate Bayern. Without them you would rule Germany

Every League in the game has one or two clubs that make it feel like you are rising in rebellion against the Galactic Empire of Star Wars

In France PSG, Italy usually Juventus or Zebre, Spain Real Madrid or Barcelona.......

But without "End Game Bosses" like them we would all stop playing due to sheer boredom of winning all the time........

FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

SEASON 2027/28

THE TRANSFERS

spacer.png

spacer.png

Zagadou and Alena are the prominent names to leave this year. They have done well for the club but cannot keep up with our development anymore and therefore had to go. There rest are loans for players to get match practice.

spacer.png

We signed Jan-Carlo Simic, a central defender who has already been capped 10 times by Germany, and Benjamin Sesko, a great new addition to our attack. Claudio Ramos will take the 3rd keeper spot. Fofana & Massarioli are young talents who have been loaned back for the season to their original clubs to develop.

THE TEAM ANALYSIS

Goalkeepers

spacer.png

No big surprises here. Seimen remains our number one. Christensen got bags of talent and should develop alongside him, providing backup. Ramos is the backup´s backup.

Defenders

spacer.png

Simic should fit right into the first team alongside Zeze or Pfeiffer. Sosa is a young talent from our 2nd team. Aude will fight with Borset for the left back place. Guldener will play on the right back position with Mack providing backup.

Midfielders

spacer.png

Frattesi and Moriba with Braunoder fighting for his place. On the wings Ibrahimovic brings new options as he can play on both sides. Gmünder joins from our 2nd team.

Attackers

spacer.png

Sesko & Popovic will be our new attacking pair up front.

THE PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

3 wins and a credible draw against Real Madrid.

THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE

spacer.png

After a series of consistent results, we are topping the table. But Bayern are chasing us. Maybe Dortmund and Wolfsburg can enter the title race as well. Sesko has been a sensational transfer. He and Popovic are banging in the goals up front.

spacer.png

spacer.png

Good for them. I don´t give a **** about this lousy trophy.

spacer.png

spacer.png

Pretty easy campaign for us in the DFB Pokal so far. In the next round (quarter final) we will play Fortuna Dusseldorf at home. Should be doable.

spacer.png

spacer.png#

Some pretty disappointing results there.

THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PHASE TABLE

We only just survive and reach the playoffs. There we will play against big FC Barcelona!

WINTER TRANSFERS

It had to happen some day. Chelsea paid his release clause and he was off to the EPL in January. But we signed a nice replacement in Ilker Erdem from Tottenham for 18.5M.

What a great run of results in the Bundesliga!
The run in the cups is looking good also; the games against Barcelona will be a hard nut to crack I guess.

Thanks mate :)

I actually think we will go out against them, but nevermind - so we could concentrate more on the Bundesliga!

The Second Half Of The Season

Spoiler

spacer.png

THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE

spacer.png

We have finally done it. We have won the Bundesliga title. Bayern nevertheless were annoying and relentless as **** and we never could get away more than those 5 points from them. But in the end our lead from the first half of the season was enough to secure us the title. Sesko won the topscorer award (and not only that) and he and Roony (who sadly left us for Chelsea) topped the AVR table. Ulrich again topped the assist table. An almost perfect season. We will have to find out how to improve our team for the future.

spacer.png

spacer.png

spacer.png

We did the Double! The only team that made it hard for us in the DFB Pokal were RB Leipzig in the semis. The final was a one-sided affair. After an early shock by the Lindstrom-inspired Eintracht we hit back before the break and that was it. Thats another DFB Pokal for our trophy cabinet. It is the 3rd in a row now.

spacer.png

spacer.png

Damn this was an impressive run! Who would have thought we beat the big Barcelona and after that beat the also-big Lazio? I didn´t. Then came Chelsea and we went out in the quarter final. Still, the lads did very well here and I think we have made a mark in Europe by now. Hopefully there is more to come.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II

Our 2nd team did have a good campaign in the 3. Liga. They finished 12th, although many expected them to get relegated. They beat the odds again.

VfB Stuttgart U19

Our U19s had a better season than the recent ones, finishing 3rd. They did disappoint in the DFB Pokal der Junioren though, when they lost in the fist round to Schalke U19s. However, the UEFA Youth League they even made it to the semi final after beating Arsenal and PSV, when Lazio U19s beat them after penalties.

YOUTH INTAKE 2028

Not much to report this year. We signed those 2 of course.

Fantastic that after a few years of strong challenges, you managed to hold off the Bayern juggernaut and claim the Bundesliga title. Very well deserved and so much sweeter to work hard over time before such a step could be achieved. The DFB Pokal should just be locked up in Stuttgart, your grip is very strong on that.

I'm a big fan of Belgian football and hope to make a return to the forum either there or in Germany. Maybe I should do both!

If Germany wins over Belgium, would it be terrible to have a crack with Stuttgart (new winter database) or should I stick to plan A and go with Wolfsburg to give you a unique audience? You have kind of inspired me with VfB.

Good luck for the summer and beyond if you continue.

Thank you very much :)  Nice to hear that I could inspire you for a new save!

Belgium is an interesting choice, because they have a lot of young talent and Im sure it would be fun to discover those gems while playing in the Belgian League...

Wolfsburg is a club that is not very well liked here in Germany because of its "plastic" image, being supported by VW... If I were to give a recommendation it would be Freiburg or Union Berlin, as they do well with the resources they have at their disposal compared to the "rich" clubs...

FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

2027/28 Season Summery

spacer.png

Champions. We scored a total of 100 goals in the Bundesliga this season. This speaks volumes about our approach to the game. This season we conceded only 40 goals, which is a record for us and mostly came from heavy defeats like the 0:5 against RB Leipzig. If we get found out we get found out. Thats just how our tactic is. This domestic season it worked almost perfectly. Of course it helped having 2 super scorers in attack with Sesko and Popovic. Or having a solid defensive rock in Simic. Or having deadly wingers in Ulrich and Ibrahimovic. Or having a midfield engine like Frattesi. Or having the German national team keeper in goal with Seimen. That being said-Botheim will have to go.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II did have a good campaign in the 3. Liga, beating the odds which saw them get relegated again, finishing in 12th position.

Our U19s had a better season than the recent ones, finishing 3rd. They did disappoint in the DFB Pokal der Junioren though, when they lost in the fist round to Schalke U19s. FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

SEASON 2028/29

THE TRANSFERS

spacer.png

Frattesi has gone back to his native Italy. We could not refuse that offer and he was happy about it. He is the only big sale this preseason. The rest are the usual loans.

spacer.png

We needed a replacement for Frattesi and in came Iraqi international Ahmed ZaidanEmilio Lara opens up the competition for right back as should talented Jerome Hohl for the left back position. Niyonkuru will be loaned back to his original club for this season and Pigliacelli will play for our second team in goal.

THE TEAM ANALYSIS

Goalkeepers

spacer.png

Still no surprises here. Seimen remains our number one. Christensen develops rather slowly but he develops. Ramos remains the backup´s backup.

Defenders

spacer.png

Lara and Hohl are the new names here and they are here to give more competition which is much needed on the according positions on the sides.

Midfielders

spacer.png

Zaidan has all the skillz to replace Frattesi but maybe lacks experience on this level. He will have to learn quickly.

Attackers

spacer.png

Sesko & Popovic are our stars in attack. Botheim has gone.

THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE

spacer.png

Not the best half season we have played. Bayern are cruising again and we are already trailing behind in 4th postition. The fans had expected more and so did I. Sesko is not scoring as good as last season but at least Popovic does. We have to improve massively if we want to mount another title challenge this season.

spacer.png

spacer.png

No, I don´t like this cup.

spacer.png

spacer.png

So... the first time in 3 years the DFB Pokal will not be won by us. Frankfurt defeated us in the round of the last 16. Disappointing.

spacer.png

We won the easier games and lost the more difficult games. 2 more to play in January.

THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE

Bayern do it again and we were not able to retain the title, but you didn´t have to be a wizard to predict this after the first half of the season. Second place is a strong finish though, as we were quite some points behind at times during the season. Sesko again scored a lot and managed to finish 2nd in the goalscorer charts.

spacer.png

spacer.png

spacer.png

We disappointed in Europe too. We lost our last 2 league phase games and finished the league phase on 26th position. Quite a setback for our European reputation.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II

Our 2nd team finally fell and was relegated, finishing last with a big margin to the next team. It does not come as a surprise though.

VfB Stuttgart U19s

Our U19s won the Bundesliga U19 Süd/Südwest title and then went on the win the national title, beating HSV U19s in the semis and RB Leipzig U19s in the final. Then, they went on and won the DFB Pokal der Junioren as well. A pity they went out in the first UEFA Youth League knockout round after a defeat to Celtic U19s.

YOUTH INTAKE 2029

FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

2028/29 Season Summery

spacer.png

Let´s face it: We just were not good enough to be Champions again. Too many defensive blunders and easy chances missed, especially by Sesko in the first half of the season, cost us. The right side was our weak point, neither Lara nor Guldener were able to keep up a decent standard there. They have to improve next season otherwise we are thinking of replacing them. We did not create too many chances either, with our midfielders losing the ball too early or passing too late or whatever mistake that stopped our attacks. Too many of them. On the positive side: We finished 2nd and Sesko improved in the second half of the season. But that´s it. Jutgla will leave and maybe Pfeiffer too. We hope for the best for next season.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II finished 20th and got relegated.

VfB Stuttgart U19s won the U19s title and the DFB Pokal der Junioren. However, in the UEFA Youth League they went out in the 1st knockout round to Celtic U19s.

FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

SEASON 2029/30

THE TRANSFERS

spacer.png

Benjamin Sesko has left the building. What can you do when Newcastle pays the release clause? I hope we can adequately replace him in the short term. Defender Patric Pfeiffer also left, he was looking for a change in his career. Anders Borset never settled here and I am glad he is gone to be honest. The rest are mostly loans for game time, as usual.

spacer.png

We needed an urgent replacement for Sesko and in came 2 attackers: Joaquin Martinez and Habib Haddadboth with bags of potential and talent. And we added even more quality in midfield with Tom Krauss. Veteran Robin Zentner will be our 3rd keeper. Additionally, our former loaned-out players Fofana and Massarioli will join our first team.

THE TEAM ANALYSIS

Goalkeepers

spacer.png

Still no surprises here. Seimen remains our number one. Christensen develops rather slowly but he develops. Zentner is the new backup´s backup.

Defenders

spacer.png

I am very excited to see Fofana develop into a great player. Hopefully that happens. He will take Pfeiffers place.

Midfielders

spacer.png

Zaidan has not progressed that quickly and will need more time. In came Krauss who will provide more quality. All in all a very balanced midfield.

Attackers

spacer.png

New names here. And very hard competition for 2 places for all players involved, which can´t be a bad thing.

A respectable league placing, taking on the giants is always going to be an annual struggle. How do you feel about the new European format? I'm not sure I would find much inspiration from battling away in such a heavy structure. I like the slow evolution of your squad, not regular overhauls but adjusting it when necessary.

I've been mulling over which side to try a new journey with. As you know, I was keen on Belgium and Germany. Wolfsburg and Stuttgart were interesting me in Germany, but I was put off on the former by what you said about them and on the latter a little because I didn't know whether a copycat of your career there would be nice. The squad of FSV Mainz also came on the radar being a smaller club doing well - and I saw they had some good youth development potential to bring through. That's where I probably should be heading, but for some reason Stuttgart seem to have the strongest pull at the moment.

Did you find it difficult keeping your best Stuttgart players in the first few years? The maximum wage allowance is €‎29,000 per week and although most of them are on much lower (and very sensible amounts) it seems they want significant early upgrades that go way over the board limit.

Thank you for your input!

I hate the new european format, tbh :) I think it offers nothing exciting, i liked the group games far better before...

Mentioning the "slow evolution"... ummm I have a feeling you might not like my next update too much ;)

If you like to manage Stuttgart, then just do it! Don´t be scared off that it could be a copycat career! It´s YOUR career and you will play it your way :)

The best player I think they have at the beginning is LB Borna Sosa. Sadly, as soon as Bayern came there was no way to keep him. I went to quite some terms keeping Dennis Seimen, our goalie, though... As soon as his quality emerges, the big clubs came for him. I had quite a few private talks with him to assure him he is our number one and we will win domestic silverware and put a price tag, 75M, on him, which seems to have kept other clubs to have a further go at him until now. Those were the only 2 players where I found it hard to keept them. The other good players at the start are Silas, Endo, Genki and probably Mavropanos. Maybe Gil too, could be that I played him in the wrong position so he couldnt shine as good. But it wasnt a problem to keep those players.

Yes, I echo your thoughts on the European format. Seems a big shame to do that to it.

I won't mind if you have done heavy moves in the market, you have been very restrained until now. It will be interesting to see what you have done and how you have taken extra steps to improve your group.

Thanks for the endorsement and inspiration with Stuttgart. I'll see if I can make a good go of it, having designed some new 3D kits and starting as a test last week just to see how it felt. If I get a few months in, I'll maybe post my own career on the forum here too. I'm sure it will be different, if not as good as your story :)

I remember plucking Borna Sosa from the Zagreb youth side and moving him to my BSC Young Boys team along with Haaland and Davies (of Bayern) somewhere around FM18 time, so it will be nice to be re-acquainted and try to keep him for a few years. Him and Silas are the ones I'd like to be retaining for a while, plus Seimen of course. Muller, ironically, was one of those who wanted about six times his current wage just a few months in. I couldn't have done so even if I wanted to, but of course rejecting every player who approaches for a new deal will lead to a somewhat disharmonious dressing room.

Thanks again, I look forward to your next update!

I will try to post the update tonight if I will find the time - I forgot I have to post the season summary first, it will be in the update after the next update :)

Looking forward to it if you decide to post your career with VfB, it sure will be interesting to follow what your approach will be with them! Sosa surely has evolved a bit since FM18 ;)

Looking forward to your update whenever it is. I've convinced myself this is a good idea, so should get a post ready soon. You're right, Sosa was talented, but now he is a much more developed player.

THE BUNDESLIGA TABLE

spacer.png

A disappointing season, we have to be clear here. The expectations were higher. We just didn´t manage to score in the important games, again. Maybe a different approach to our transfer dealings should be made to bring in more clinical players with better composure. We HAVE TO do something, otherwise there will be no progress and the other clubs will overtake us in the long term.

We managed to qualify for the knockout rounds in the last minute...

spacer.png

...but somehow managed to go on a nice European Cup run afterwards! We beat Roma and REAL MADRID, can you believe that? We won in the Bernabeu!! Then we lost 3-6 at home to Liverpool and the dream died but we were having a blast while we were on it! At least something to be proud of this season.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II

Our 2nd team finished 4th in the Regionalliga and did not get promoted back. I have decided to remove the German Regional leagues from this save to make the game run faster. And I don´t see any purpose anymore in our 2nd team so they can stay there and rot :)  We rather loan our players out than to let them play in the 4th tier.

VfB Stuttgart U19s

Bad luck for our U19s in the Bundesliga U19 Sud/Sudwest. They missed out on the title by a mere point and therefore did not make it to the semi finals. They also lost in the 2nd round of the DFB Pokal der Junioren against Wolfsburg U19s and went out in the League Phase of the UEFA Youth League. Not the best of seasons but they can build on this for sure.

YOUTH INTAKE 2030

A very good intake this year. Del Campo looks class. So does Beitzinger. And Dieudonne. And Etoundi.

Thanks, yes. I'm doing the groundwork on the thread creation :)

Nice to see your update. A decent run in Europe, I guess the Liverpool result was a bit disappointing, but still you picked up some good results on the way.

And to be feeling that 4th is unacceptable in the league shows just how high you have set the bar. Yes you have done better before, but it's still keeping you well amongst the top clubs in Germany.

I can sense there will be some big decisions and moves in the transfer window, that will be interesting to see. And by the way, I don't blame you for ditching the Stuttgart 11 side as a playable league. It hasn't really been that successful but you gave them every chance.

FEARLESS AND FAITHFUL

2029/30 Season Summery

spacer.png

Just look at the mere numbers. Only 7 players with an average rating over 7, and only barely. And not one of our defenders among them. 11 assists are enough to be the best figure this season. Sure, 26 goals for Martinez, but he scored them in 44 games, which immediately makes it look less impressive. Only Ibrahimovic, Martinez and Haddad performed at what I would call "close to their best". Lorran showed he was a good signing too. But the rest? Meh.

THE YOUTH TEAMS

VfB Stuttgart II finished 4th in the Regional League and will from now on not regarded as an important part of the club anymore.

VfB Stuttgart U19s missed out on the U19s title and lost in the 2nd round of the DFB Pokal der Junioren. In the UEFA Youth League they did not make it out of the League Phase.

You were far behind Bayern this season. Maybe you have come as far as aggressiveness and Athleticism will take you. Maybe you will have to spend money on some more established players with the composure and finishing you are looking for.

The Champion's League run was definitely the highlight of the season,

Could you tell me what is going on with ASSE since they don't seem to be in Ligue 1 anymore? Also check out Preston NE:cool:   I just want to know how their do in YOUR World!

Exactly what I´m thinking :)

I screenshotted the league history of both clubs in the year 2030 now:

Spoiler

ASSE:

They were relegated in the 24/25 season and have since been playing there.

PNE:

Much the same story here, only difference being they have been promoted to the EPL this season!

I have a lot to live up to in Preston they were promoted the season I just finished 20th! (23) and promoted again in 2030. I plan on being promoted in 2028! (A five-year plan)

ASSE is a shambles......
