This is a challenge I've wanted to do for a long time, ever since I saw a similar Yugoslavian Challenge on a now defunct forum nearly a decade ago. The basic goal, is to win the top flight of every Nordic nation and then win the UEFA Champions League with a Nordic club. All the while, I can only play and sign Nordic players.

The 6 Nordic nations involved in this challenge are: Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, in alphabetical order. I have downloaded the Faroese leagues, and loaded it to the second tier. Finland and Iceland are also loaded to the second tier, while Denmark, Norway and Sweden have the first three tiers added.

I will be starting the save as an unemployed manager with no badges and Sunday League experience, and then taking whichever job I can find. There's no required order for me to finish this challenge, but the likely path I will take is:

Faroe Islands --> Iceland --> Finland --> Norway --> Sweden --> Denmark

I am leaning towards Denmark being my final location and a Danish club being the one I use to try and win the Champions League due to the fact that its the only nation of the six who play the more 'southern' August to May schedule.

The rules are fairly straightforward, I can only sign players whose main nationality is one of these six nations. I don't have to finish it in any particular order and I can get sacked and hired as many times as I like, but to finish the challenge I need to win the top division of each Nordic nation and the UEFA Champions League.

It hasn't taken me too long to find my first job. Undrid from the Faroe Islands will be our first stop, they've just been promoted as champions into the Faroese second division, the 1.deild. They're an amateur club which means I can be pretty aggressive on transfers, although it's a two way street as our best player is already being bid on by some rival clubs.

Fortunately I don't think promotion will be too difficult considering there's only four clubs fighting for it in the second division, with six reserve teams. We're predicted to finish 10th in the league however so will need to improve the squad.

As mentioned before our best player Bjarni Olsen is already being offered deals by other clubs so hopefully we can convince him to stay. David Dam, Danjal Hansen, Sjurour Jensen and Toki Rasmussen all look like being key players for us.

Season 1 - 2023

Undrid FF

Our first job was in the Faroese second tier, the 1.deild, and we took on the weakest club in the division Undrid FF. Unfortunately, despite making a number of transfers throughout the season, our quality of players just wasn't up to scratch, with even our best being considered good players for the fourth tier. I think in light of this we still did pretty well.

At one point early in the season we were challenging the top 2 clubs for a promotion spot but things really fell off in the back end of the season, where we only won four games from June to October. Losing some of my best players to free transfers early on didn't help.

A couple of decent performers this season, we brought in Icelandic striker Enok Eidsson as one of our four non-EU players allowed and he started really well but due to his age has really begun to drop off and will probably be let go over the off-season. Sorin Samuelsen stepped up really well in an often beleaguered defensive unit, and we also got some good contributions out of the versatile Toki Rasmussen. I was ultimately a bit disappointed with the 3 Norwegian youngsters I brought in to try and boost the squad, in Marius Skyer, Silvert Drage and Michael Isaksen, and I might try for a new set of 4 foreign players next season.

The board have decided to become semi-professional, which seems like it could be financially devastating for the club but ultimately I'm not going to argue against it. Hopefully it will give me a chance to sign some slightly better players so I can have a crack at promotion next season.

Nothing to write home about in the youth intake, no players I'll likely ever use before I leave the club for one reason or another.
