We smash Legia to advance to the second knockout round, where we face AZ of the Netherlands. A comfortable win in the Super Cup bodes well for our domestic efforts as well.

A tale of polar opposites. We flog Panevezys in the cup, and then 2 weeks later have a 4-4 draw. No one can say we are not entertaining!

We have a few players coming in this transfer window, but this is the only one that went through before the month was up. And what a one it is. We pick Owen up from a 4th division club in Belgium, and at 17 he's already our best midfielder. This kid is going to be big.

I also realised far too late that the FM export tool is only limited to about 250 players, meaning I missed out on some players I could've picked up earlier. What I've done now is refine the criteria to make less players appear in the search bar. It worked in picking up Owen, and I think it did for the others we are bringing in.

A very strong month, headlined by our win over Polish champions Piast Gliwice in the CL qualifiers. We also followed that up with a destructive performance against Lokomotivi to all but guarantee a spot in the next round against Club Brugge.

We completely restructured or defence this transfer window, bringing in 2 CBs and a keeper. Fabio Ferreira also looks good value for the future, and I expect to make a profit from him eventually.

We've already won the league, but we're expected to do that by now. The main reason we're here is European football. We held Club Brugge really well, but couldn't get over the line. We then required a great performance against Ferencvaros to qualify for the Europa League groups, and we delivered an 8-3 home win to win 10-6 on aggregate. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

No one can accuse us of being a boring team.

I continue the tradition of upgrading our facilities as a result of qualifying for a European group stage. Both are at "Good" at the moment.

I wonder how this league would work if Lithuania somehow appeared on the top of UEFA ranking. Will the team from second tier qualify? :D

That's a great question! I'm not sure I want to find out, as it could break the game

Identical losses in the Europa League means our last game at home against Besiktas is crucial. If we lose, we're out. If we draw, we're in the Conference League knockouts. If we win, and Sevilla beat or draw with Red Star, we are in the Europa knockouts. It's pressure cooker time!

I got curious and decided to test it haha. It seems that only the the 6 teams from the top league qualify, the teams from the second league can only qualify through the cup.

We won another cup, and we qualified for the Europe League knockouts! But next season we really need to fix our defence.

Justas Lasickas  -  Noel Bilic  -  Raul Florucz

Our reliance on loan players continues, but it'll be phased out next season (probably). We also have a Lithuanian highlighted, and so he should be. 18 assists is excellent. Bilic was incredible, with 37 goals and 16 assists in 41 games. I think I'll try and get him transferred, as he's only worth 105k.

I fiddled with the GK rating so it's a bit lower than the last one, but overall we improved again.

Oh good, at least it's not going to break the game! That is interesting though, imagine being relegated and qualifying for European competition due to league position :D

That actually still happens! The team finishing 6th still qualified for Europe! There should be 7 European spots however, and in my quick test only 6 went into European competitions.

You're making great progress by the way! Are the other Lithuanian teams helping you out in Europe a bit?

Do you know where the 7th spot goes at all?

Thanks, I do put it down to the way the formulas work, it saves having to individually scout players as they reach the scouting pool. The Lithuanian teams aren't doing much at the moment, it looks like the best anyone has done is Suduva who made the 3rd qualifying round in the Conference League. We are only going into our 5th season though, so there's plenty of time for clubs to join us.

Nah I have no idea, but my guess would be to a country that is one spot away in the coefficient ranking for an automatic spot in one of the European competitions.  I also gave all the first team players in the Lithuanian teams 200 CA and PA to make sure they stayed on top of the ranking. Suduva got relegated and won the Champions League haha, and the EL final was a Lithuanian affair too. Still, only the 6 teams that were currently in the league qualified for European competitions. I didn't holiday any further, but it seems that the only way second tier squads could qualify is through the cup.

We've strengthened our defence for the season ahead, with 4 of the 6 players we signed playing there. Matejka is an investment I hope will pay off, when we bought him he was described as a promising striker (a first for the team) and looks incredible for this level. I know I won't be holding on to him, but I'm hoping that we make a massive profit off him.

We concede no goals in the league, and we turned what I thought would be a tough tie against Levski Sofia into a massacre, winning 11-5 on aggregate! We then eased past TNS of Wales. Craiova is next is the 3rd qualifying round.

We'd beaten Craiova convincingly over two legs in the CL qualifiers, so it only made sense that we would lose to them this time around :seagull:

On the plus side, we had a good win over Plzen and went 20 for 20 to win the league.

Anton Groznica  -  Justas Lasickas  -  Hugo Andersson

After investing in our defence this season, it's only fitting that our CBs get a feature in the season review. Groznica in particular was deadly from corners, which is where most of his goals came from. Lasickas was once again an assist machine, and Matejka had a solid debut season, scoring 29 from 34. He's going to go places.

We did really, really well against Tottenham, only losing 5-3! We are also off to a flyer in the league, but that's to be expected at this point. My time in Lithuania now is spent waiting for the European season to start, because we seem untouchable domestically.

We've hit our stride in the league, and also in the Champions League qualifiers, slaughtering our Latvian neighbours 17-0 on aggregate. We extend our supremacy over Craiova in the next round, and will now play Sherriff Tiraspol in the 3rd qualifying round.

Ljubisavljevic was sold because he wasn't getting any game time, and Kis was sold because he was getting a bit old so it was best to cash in on him now.

But the big loss is Fabio Ferreira. Napoli, Lille, Inter & Lazio were sniffing around so I offered him out to see the max price I could for him. Napoli came in with 4M, and the board went over my head and accepted the offer. Annoyed, but he was too good for us.

Plucked from obscurity in the Azores to playing for the current Serie A and Europa Conference League champions at just 19. Add in the fact that we made 4M profit, I wish him all the best.

We were hit with a massive injury bug in August, which resulted in some less than desirable form in the Champions League. We scraped through against Sheriff, and in our deciding match at home against Sarajevo we were missing 5 starters, including both of our prolific strikers. We held on by the skin of our teeth, and we are into our first (and Lithuania's first) Champions League Group Stage! It's also interesting to note that had we lost to Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina would've had their first CL groups appearance. They look to be one of the premier sides in the Bosnian league, and a team to look out for when I eventually reach Bosnia.
