bendixkunert2
The game settings: The club: Lyn 1896 Fotballklubb (Norwegian pronunciation: [lyːn]) is a Norwegian football club and a department of the sports club Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn based in Oslo, whose members also participate in Nordic skiing and orienteering. Until 2010, SFK Lyn had two football departments, one professional section and one amateur section. After the professional football department, FK Lyn was bankrupted in 2010, the fans decided to support the amateur department, Lyn Fotball, instead. With the help of some of the old FK Lyn players, Lyn Fotball have won three consecutive promotions, and are playing in the 3. divisjon. The aim: Obviously our first goal ist to get back to the first division. Lyn has been irrelevant for too long. And I hope to change that. I also want to go with the title Nordic empire title which means we can only sign and recruit players from the 5 loaded nations and the Faroer. Ultimately I hope to build up the nation and win the UCL with only Nordic players or players from Nordic countries. I hope you all enjoy this thread and follow the journey. bendixkunert2
Agnar, a 29 year old Norwegian without much ability and any experience has been named the next manager of Lyn. He originally hails from Bergen, Norway and is the brother of a famous Norwegian fitness and crossfit athlete and it is rumored that these connections led him to this job. The fans are furious and strongly believe 950€/week are 950 too much but they have no choice but to believe in the vision of Agnar. He does have some pro football experience though as a 2nd division player in Sweden. As I said, the fans have no choice but to trust me. Gone are the days of fancy stadiums, of high wages or of certain imports. On top of the expectations and the club vision, Agnar has created a transfer policy that only allows the club to make transfers within Scandinavia to leave the controversy regarding transfers such as Mikel in the past. Lyn Toppfotball will compete in the Norsk Tipping - Ligaen, the 4th division in Norway. The start date will be March 1st in 2021 due to the lower leagues in 2020 being cancelled. bendixkunert2
As expected this club doesn't have money. 91k in the bank though which I think is pretty decent for the 4th division. Have to remind myself that this is barely a top 200 league in Europe coming in at 187. I really have no player knowledge or any scouts or any scouting packages or know many players from there which is to be expected for this club but I made a really nice discovery which should make things easier. Our 2nd team didn't provide me with any players and our youth team also had only 1 prospect so we are starting from scratch there. Beggars cannot be choosers but at least a guy who could break into the team. Doesn't look like he will be our penalty taker anytime soon. The expectation slighty varies from the season preview but I guess top 3 should be the aim. Only the first place gets promoted so this one will be tough. It will come down to how good the loan market is for us and what we can do with out lofty 4,000 € transfer budget. We have a little bit of time. So I will look and see how I improve the squad in the next 6 weeks until the league season starts and we can push for promotion. Hopefully I can present a decent squad. bendixkunert2
We made some moves, had also a decent preseason until we came back down to reality with a crushing defeat in the 1st round of the cup. The board expected 2nd round so this isn't optimal. As far as the roster goes, we moved our transfer budget to the wage budget and are still over right now. We are probably dealing with a squad full of players nobody has ever heard of. But Berglann is probably my top player. Great speedy winger and has made 12 Eliteserien appearances with Bodo. Otherwise I was only able to sign some promising youngsters and some backups with the exception of this guy. He is only 17 years old but was wanted by Odds and Valerenga. Unsurprisingly he missed the 4-0 battering I received against Moss as he is already a top 3 player for me but unfortunately he already is unhappy because apparently I promised him to build a 2nd Liverpool in 1 offseason. Not sure what this guy expected.

Even though it might not have been serious, there was some interest from Eliteserien clubs so I figured he is really good for this level and could get a whole lot better. We have a partnership with Molde but weirdly enough they weren't ready to loan us any players. Madness. As far as the season, we started out with a bang and really got rolling after a lucky win at Brann 2. But after that we dominated most games and are sitting pretty right now. Tactically, I have created a 4411 on the principle of a possession tactic. It does look really stable, I had to adjust my defensive line a bit though because my defenders are slow. There are some dull games but except 1-2 counter attacks we don't really concede many chances.

bendixkunert2
Promotion push! Can't really complain about anything. We have just about secured promotion with fun, attack football. Defensively we got worse and we had some injuries but hey, who cares. Top 3 was the expectation and we are getting promoted in season 1. Can't ask for more than that. Financially it is what it is. It probably won't get much better anytime soon. Will have to rely on free transfers for the time being. We also don't have any sponsors right now. bendixkunert2
Promotion! This is absolutely huge. The board despite the financial situation has just given me 4 times the wage budget I had this year. I really have no idea how the league above us looks and if we can realistically stay up but with this wage budget I have hopes.
bendixkunert2
seasons review: Sharma and Singh were absolutely huge for me and formed a great partnership from game 1. I'm interested to see how good Sharma is going to be next season but I guess he is going to be just fine. Looks like he was an absolute steal of a signing. Financially we are hurting and were the only team without sponsorship money and we didn't any new sponsors either. Yuck. bendixkunert2
As we move towards our 2nd season, financially not much has improved and thus the board thinks it would not be wise to turn into a professional club yet. We aren't getting any facility or youth recruitment upgrades either. That being said, we got our first youth intake in February 2022. Decent enough. bendixkunert2
Lyn TF 2022 season preview: After a very succcessful first season in charge of Lyn, Agnar has his eyes on establishing the team in the PostNord - ligaen. There will be hurdles as he will have to battle the likes of Valerenga II and Fredrikstad but Agnar feels confident in his vision and believes he has strengthened the team enough to compete at the top of the division. Due to the lack of scouts, scouting network and scouting budget it wasn't easy to identify the right targets but I think we made some improvements. The bulk of my top signings comes from loans. I wasn't able to bring the top loanees from the Eliteserien but some exciting prospects where this guy stands out. Unfortunately only on loan but for 17 years old he is pretty, pretty good and should help us lot. The board expectations are very reasonable and I would be disappointed if we only reach that. That being said, we drew a relegated Eliteserien team in the first round of the cup so we will have a really difficult time reaching the 3rd round in that one. The odds favor us much more and although I'm not sure if we are that good, it certainly would be a pleasant surprise. Dream is to reach the playoff which is the 2nd place against the 2nd place of the other league group but that is far away. We are going to start the season against Haugesund and Fredrikstad, absolutely brutal. But we will quickly know if we are overhyped or not.

bendixkunert2
After a successful preseason and transfer window, the media and the fans had high hopes for Lyn as Agnar entered his 2nd season at the club. The club was hoping to aim for back to back promotions. However after just a few games played and an expected cup loss, it became clear very quickly that this league was very different. Now, to be fair Haugesund was a relegated Eliteserien club, Fredrikstad and Valerenga are the 2 best teams in the division and we led Vidar until we received a red card. So we kept going and the results improved. We improved to 3rd place however this didn't last long and we entered another rough stretch. We felt like we were too leaky and clearly conceded tons of goals. We have changed our mentality to cautious right now and quickly won our last 2 games against Fredrikstad and Honefuss. Which puts us very comfortable ahead of the relegation zone but also not much hope of getting promoted. The main issue we have and are still coming across is that we promised too many players playing time and our dynamics are average at best. We will have to sort this one out, especially for next season.
SixPointer
Seems like you’ve handled the step up well. Really enjoying Norway myself. Second time playing here. Lots of gems to be found. seems a good intake as well considering your status as a club.
