Moonshine
The World's Best 2024: Ballon d'Or: Kylian Mbappe [Manchester City] FIFA Best: Kylianne Mbappe [Manchester City] World Player of the Year: Kylian Mbappe [Manchester City] Kopa Trophy (best u21 Player): Phillip Kandziora [Bayern] (Regen) FIFA best XI Mbappe celebrates his second Ballon d'Or and World Player of the Year, and fourth straight FIFA Best Award, which probably sit nicely on his shelf next to the two Kopa Awards, five Ligue 1 titles, 2 EPL titles and World Cup title. He's 26! Previous Kopa winners update: 2020's Fabio Silva moved from Porto to Lazio for £8m in 2021, then on to perennial Serie A champions Inter for £69m last year, for whom he has 29 goals in 54 games, and was second in the Ballon d'Or. He's 22. 2021's Erling Haaland moved to Chelsea for £92m in 2022. Winner of the Ballon d'Or last year, he has 51 goals in 87 league games as well as 36 in 53 for Norway. 2022's Ansu Fati remains at Barca, having played more than 149 games and scored 58 goals. He has 39 caps for Spain 2023's Kaue Costa Ferreira was the first regen winner, and the Brazilian remains at Benfica having been bought from Corinthians for £16.25m in 2021. He's on 11 in 14 this season, and is surely going to move soon, and increase his 1 cap (with 2 goals) for the selecao... 2024's Phillip Kandziora has just turned 19 and yet has 17 goals in 17 appearances for Germany, having won best player and golden boot at the home Euros. Signed at 17 for £59m by Bayern from Schalke, he's scored 8 in 13 this season.
Moonshine
HB Koge - 2024/25 Nordicbet Liga 1 Mid-Season Break Transfers: Annoyingly I lost Marco Maune Johannesen as his loan expired and he was sold before I could snaffle him up again. I thought I'd be fine, until Martin Stokholm got injured for the rest of the season in a friendly. Balls. Elsewhere, I brought in dodgy ST Mikkel Bang on a free from Middelfart - better the devil you know, or something, plus it ****s them up a bit - and Icelandic winger Kristall Mani Ingason as a bit more depth to the squad. There is also something definitely bugged about mid-season friendlies. The players' match sharpness just doesn't change during them. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2024/25 Nordicbet Liga 1 March Fixtures: Not a great restart to the season. The midfield is becoming overwhelmed, and it's just not that solid. Table: With the entire top six separated by 8 points, we all remain in the fight. Somehow. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2024/25 Nordicbet Liga 1 Early April Fixtures: Too many losses, not enough wins, and we're back to not being able to score. These April results put me on 3 goals in my last 9 games. I have no idea why this keeps happening. Maybe it's time for an alternate 4-4-2? Moonshine
HB Koge - 2024/25 Nordicbet Liga 1 Late April Fixtures: Ten games without a win in the league now. I've no idea what's gone wrong, but wrong it has very much gone. Table: We are not entertaining to watch. Our defensive record is great. It's a shame our attacking record is diabolical (the second worst in the entire league)

Moonshine
HB Koge - 2024/25 Nordicbet Liga 1 May Fixtures: Gods above, that was awful. I went down to 9 men against Velje away, which I guess is an excuse for one of the games. Elsewhere, we were simply dreadful until the narrow victory over Nykobing - our first in 14 games, a new record. Despite everything, they offered me a new contract which was nice. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2024/25 Nordicbet Liga 1 Season Summary Final Position: 6th [of 12] The Squad: The squad remains thin, and pretty poor to boot. It's clear my 5-2-2-1 isn't working, so we're going to take a deep dive into what we have in a post below. I want to rebuild this squad around the incredible talent that is Morten Johannsen (Yth), who is by far my best player and is only 19. He's contracted to 2026, and I might struggle to hold on to him. The core is young. Let's use them. The Awards: Team of the year awards in defence! Nice. Best XI: All Time XI Casper Hauervig Soren Overgaard Marian Huja Morten Johannesen (Yth) Brandon Onkony Bardhec Bytyqi Marco Mauno Johannesen Magnus Hauser Gustav Johansen Yao Dieudonne Ronald Arevalo

Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 [Danish Division 2] Board: Top Four Cup: Fourth Round Media: 4th (/12) Odds: 5-1 Friendlies: Friendly. New tactic, with 2 strikers (shock! horror!) and actually scored shedloads of goals. Conceded loads mind, but that can be fixed. Transfers: An interesting window. The big talking point is that I lost my two best players, in Ronald Arevalo and Morten Johansen (Yth). Both their contracts were up at the end of the season, and both wanted to go to bigger clubs. With Vejle in the Superliga, and Freiburg in the Bundesliga offering, frankly, silly money, I couldn't say no. For Johansen in particular, I got 45% of the next transfer, and a friendly to boot i what seemed like a great deal. Obviously it put me in a sticky situation squad-wise but it has also fixed the finances - I'm suddenly only £50k in the red - and felt realistic. In, as a result, came yet another ex-Middelfart player in Englishman Jack Ritchie, to be retrained to play up front; two unbelievably good midfielders - 19 y/o Miro Pascali, who had been released by Inter and who's agent offered him to me, and Norwegian Trygve Solberg Aarstad; backup DC Louis Sterobo; and last year's loanee Per Ingerslev. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 August Fixtures: Pleasant start to the season this... Near perfect, in fact. The new straight, boring, narrow 4-4-2 - with the aim of a) scoring more and b) taking advantage of the fact that my midfield duo is really very good - has paid real dividends. 16 goals in the league, another 3 in the cup, goals coming across the team. It's lovely. The Esbjerg win was particularly nice, as they're predicted second. Table: Oh, and I signed a new striker:
Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 September Fixtures: Not bad at all. More wins. Lyngby are the best team in the league, having been relegated after a couple of seasons in the Superliga last season. Losing to them in the cup and league isn't bad. Table: We're still top. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 October Fixtures: Boom. Decent month, decent month. Ngombo now has 6 in 8, which is more than any of my players managed the entirety of last season... Tables: Still top... but as we know, we have a habit of falling apart after the winter break. Nice chunk of change.

Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 November Fixtures: It's so nice to have a goalscoring striker! Maecky Ngombo's five goals this month brings him to 11 for the season, from just 12 matches. The last person I had scoring this many was Bjornebye at Middelfart, over a 32 match season... But the goals aren't just coming from him. Ritchie has 7, but 13 of players - my entire first 11 bar the goalkeeper and DR, and some subs - have added the total to date. Table: After just 17 games, I'm already at the highest points total I've ever had in the Nordicbet Liga...

Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 March Fixtures: Nothing happened in the Winter break, with the exception of losing Morten Stenbring (YP6a) to Hobraek on a free because I totally forgot he existed. This is obviously not good, but meh. Back to the present, we had another excellent month, culminating in a 5-1 thrashing of Frem. I'm actively excited, and suddenly thinking we might actually go up (and subsequently come crashing immediately back down). Table: 7 points clear of 3rd. Top two go up. Look at that goals for column. We only scored 25 goals all season last year. Two strikers good, one striker bad. Edited April 23, 2020 by Moonshine
Moonshine
Financial trouble Despite £1.2m of player sales - and £300k in prize money - so far this season, we're still bleeding money. So much so, the board had to pump another £500k in. We're projected to lose a little over £1m per season. That's the entire wage budget (£1.1m per season). I've no idea how we're not making any money, though we are £1.7m in debt to the bank too.
Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 Early April Fixtures: We won the important match, then lost the easier game. Moonshine
In theory I have the most difficult run in - but 3pts and goal difference might make the difference here. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 May Fixtures: The most magnificent of season with a bittersweet end. The wins over Lyngby and Nykobing essentially guaranteed promotion, being 3 points and 9 goals ahead of Lyngby in 3rd. Hobro and I went in level on points, with only a draw required for us to go up. But, had we won, Hobro would not have gone up. A 38th minute red card for Gustav Johansen, and goals for Hobro on 81' and 89' denied us the title. But, vitally, not promotion. What a season. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2025/26 Nordicbet Liga 1 Season Summary Final Position: 2nd [of 12] - PROMOTED (actually 21, though it doesn't give me a newsflash) (actually 66) The Squad: Yeah, we're in trouble next season. This was insane but the squad just isn't good enough to stay up. I intend to keep as many as possible from this season, and take the money to fight a second time, with the odd addition (I've a new DC incoming, and I need a new ML and backup MC to replace the outgoing Yao Dieudonne and Martin Stokholm) The Awards: League Awards: Best Player: Top Goalscorer: Five in the team of the year: Maecky Ngombo: He might appear limited, but he gets the job done. Moonshine
HB Koge - 2026/27 Superliga July/August Fixtures: A pretty decent month all told, punctuated by a ridiculous victory over SonderjyskE, with Jack Ritchie scoring after 28 second and adding a second on 1'12, before hattricks from both him and Gustav Johansen saw us break the record for the highest scoring game in Koge history. Losses to Kobenhavn and Midtjylland, the two best teams in the league, are not only understandable, but expected and not embarrassing. It's the 3-1 away win at Silkeborg that I'm most proud of. Silkeborg finished 3rd last season, and we spanked them. Maecky coming off the bench to score a penalty, after 6 weeks off with an injury, was the piece-de-resistance. Table: I can't imagine it will last, but it's pretty pleasant. Edited April 24, 2020 by Moonshine

Moonshine
HB Koge - 2026/27 Superliga September Fixtures: 4 points from 3 league games, and 2 relatively simple cup games - including a couple of youth products scoring against Ballerup - was pleasant. We deserved the late goals against Velje, in a way that we didn't against AaB. It's good to see the goals being spread out again. We've also made the fourth round of the cup - with a decent draw away at Nordicbet Liga side AC Horsens - for the first time with Koge, though next month consists entirely of away matches. Table: We might stay up, you know. 30 points is the aim, and we almost halfway after just 9 games
Moonshine
HB Koge - 2026/27 Superliga October Fixtures: On the face of it this was a poor month - or a regression to the mean, depending on how you look at it - but I'm not too unhappy. A draw with Hobro is OK, considering they, like us, were promoted last season, and that they, like us, are favourites to go down. Losses to Brondby and Midtjylland are, frankly, OK. The loss in the cup, too, was fine. AC Horsens are a good team - they went down from the Superliga last season - and the squad was very much a second 11, to keep fit for the important thing: staying up. Table: Sliding back toward where we belong. Still, I'm satisfied with 15 points to date.
