Hello, and welcome to my latest adventure! I'm managing as myself, and here I am

The Challenge

The challenge is simple. Win a league (or leagues) in a country, and move on when a job becomes available in an 'adjoining' country. Adjoining is in inverted commas, for two reasons. Firstly, I'm using the standard database, and not every country in the world is included, and secondly, not every country is connected to another. In the case where there isn't a directly connected country, I must move to the nearest country that is in the game. I must finish the challenge back in the country I started it, but I do not have to return to the original club. I do not have to manage in every nation, merely complete a circumnavigation of the globe. All of this must be completed within 80 days real time

Starting point

and this is the Club Vision

We went through the first month of the season unbeaten, including Carabao Cup wins over Luton and Reading

1497503857_Aug2019.thumb.PNG.ac2c1d49bf09b186faaafcb9876f510e.PNG

but draws at Crewe and Newport see us two points behind leaders Forest Green Rovers

I'm disappointed as we blew a 2-0 lead against Crewe

and had more than enough of the game to have beaten Newport

Any plans for direction of travel?

With the nearest country rule, I assume it rules out England, Wales, Ireland, USA, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Scotland, England as a route, although going in the opposite direction might work

I'm thinking something along the lines of: England, France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, USA, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England.

So roughly 13 leagues (depending on club availabilities at any one time).

Another possible route is via Iceland (depending on distance from the USA, then Faroes/Scotland

As a rough estimate is is a minimum of 20 seasons to allow for near misses/failures, and therefore a season every three to four days. A nice, fun challenge

It's 80 days of gameplay, not that the challenge has to be completed in 80 calendar days from now. Some days I don't get to play much, some not at all.

The wheels really fell off in November

62998076_Nov2019.thumb.PNG.48b897f6ee0a995662f16ec6147d71ce.PNG

but we remain second, although the gap to Forest Green is now a massive 9 points, and the worst of all possible outcomes is now a real possibility: that we go up, but not as Champions, and therefore the next country isn't unlocked. I need to either overhaul Forest Green, or fail to go up, and hope I get a second season with Argyle

I'm still out of work in June, despite numerous applications, and I know that technically England is 'locked' after my sacking by Argyle, but I've been offered an interview without actually having applied, and I think I'd be mad to turn this down, so I'm going to the interview anyway

August started with a run of three games without a win. But it ended with six wins in a row

1142582684_Aug2020.thumb.PNG.d6be541d4347d0dd06c8963d6d593295.PNG

and that left us third in the table, with surprise frontrunners Rochdale and Burton ahead of us

1895729864_Aug2020table.thumb.PNG.00d74388d3ca21a16ec70ed966e0c42b.PNG

but we should have beaten Fleetwood, which would have had us level with Rochdale

October didn't look good on paper

593152288_Oct2020.thumb.PNG.7491ec03913cf460f75ee012b599e1ce.PNG

but we were unlucky to only draw at Rochdale

2128321389_RochvMK2020.thumb.PNG.9c1fddc7bf13f8eee1bdc58f6c99b931.PNG

ridiculously unlucky to lose to Doncaster

779750815_MKvDonc2020.thumb.PNG.30a2783f6929d30c601ecbf852fc9401.PNG

and we actually led until quite late against Man Utd

2039475705_MKvMU2020.thumb.PNG.f41e41dad47e964277654bb3d96aab1c.PNG

but the win over Tranmere not only ensured we remain in the top two, but kept us in touch with the leaders too, as we're just a point behind

Ten points from five league games made for a decent December

1889035343_Dec2020.thumb.PNG.1bf6fa846a18e90103165d292c2c9569.PNG

although it could have been more as Shrewsbury fought back from 2-0 down to beat us after a red card which led to their second goal

348480653_MKvShrews2020.thumb.PNG.743c7b9ece8ef72bd379dc624ba57c10.PNG

and we end the month three points clear at the top. If we're going to win the league, and free me up to leave Buckinghamshire, we're doing it the hard way
