Player Roles poor Description

Roles & Player Position

Roles define how higher or lower a player stays during defending or attacking

CDM (Half Back) stays lower on the pitch during attacking then a CDM (Defensive Midfielder)

The problem is that 

I never knew that LB (Complete wing-back) stays higher up the pitch then a LB (Wing-Back)

What we need

We need a description of which player role stays lower or higher up the pitch

Does a ST (pressing foward-defend) stay lower or higher up the pitch then a ST (Deep Lying Playmaker (Support)?

I think we are given an indication of this here's the in game description of the Complete Wing Back

and here's the in game description of the wing back

I think its pretty clear that the CWB tends to get forward more than the WB

The initial positions on the tactics screen shows the DLF (S) being further forward than the PF (D) ... I'm guessing that you meant the DLF instead of the DLP.

It works on any position - adjust the role and you see the icon move a little - it's an indication of the defensive position the player will take in relation to his team mates. This, couple d with the description and your own observations and it starts to make a little sense.
