Fans claim Igor has brought in below par transfers more often then not and Stuniverse has made miracles out of thin air. We understand the frustrations of our fans with the manner in which the first team’s form slumped in the second-half of last season and everybody at the club, including our Director of Football and Manager are working tirelessly to ensure we hit the ground running this season and kick-on. As a Football Club, with a proud tradition, we are not content with finishing around mid-table and feel we have plateaued around 8th, 9th, 10th in recent seasons and, after investing many millions in the club, my Board of Directors and I feel it’s time we should be pushing to finish higher up the English Premier League (EPL) and playing in European Competitions just like the famous Derby County teams of the past. We recognised in January that we needed to overhaul the playing staff to achieve this aim and our Director of Football Igor Stimac has been tasked with improving the playing squad to allow us to challenge higher up the EPL. We have every confidence in Igor’s ability to do just that and believe Wallace is a better centre-back than those we’ve let go and that’s what we are trying to do, bring in better players than we currently have. We recently extended Igor’s contract until June 2027 and fully expect him to deliver as he has done consistently during his time here. Manager Stuniverse also has our full support. He has been an incredible manager for Derby County, winning promotion to the EPL in his very first season and keeping the Rams in the top flight ever since. Under Stuniverse, we’ve improved every season and at Christmas we were on course to improve again last season until the slump. We believe that was just a blip, but need Stuniverse to show he can get the team out of that slump and push the first team onto the next level before we enter into negotiations to extend his contract. Stuniverse is fully aware of this situation. We would urge our supporters to be patient and trust in the work we are all doing here. Don’t judge us at this early stage of the transfer window, judge us when the transfer window closes. We are determined to bring success to Derby County Football Club. Come on you Rams! I completely agree, @kidthekid. When it comes to negotiating transfers in and out I don't think Igor has the balance right at all and he definitely isn't getting value-for-money for Derby County Football Club. The other clubs must be rubbing their hands in glee when they realise Igor's on the phone - he seems to be selling players on the cheap and paying a fortune for the players he buys. With the release of FM20 in a couple of weeks, I’ve lost interest in this FM19 save and I think now, with the 2024/25 season not yet started, is the perfect time to end the save. If there’s enough interest though, I am prepared to play through the season with the AI running the show (I think if I holiday, maybe Stuniverse has to go on long-term sick, I can let Igor run the show). If there’s enough interest, I’ll provide brief monthly updates. I’m excited for my FM20 Career Update save which I’ll be updating on here... and I think I need to make sure I’m refreshed and energised for the start of my FM20 adventure! We understand that Stimac has not been suspended and Igor's former Rams and Croatian teammate Aljosa Asanovic will step-up from Assistant Manager to manage the first team. Derby County Football Club were unavailable for comment other than to say they will not be commenting further until the internal investigation has concluded. Prior to his suspension, Stuniverse managed the Rams to victory in six games, including a 4-0 victory against AS PAOK Salonica, before Aljosa Asanovic took over the reigns winning the final four matches, including a 3-1 victory over Juventus.
