Davey Boy
a good relationship with a journalist may bring favourable reports, how does that benefit you exactly and does it help team morale in anyway?
phnompenhandy
You see players with the PR icon, which means they've reacted to you talking to the press. It can affect their morale up or down. In theory a good relationship with a journalist can make them ask you nicer questions and get a better reaction from one or two of your players. In practice I doubt it makes the slightest difference! gunnerfan
I got off on the wrong foot with one journalist when I answered his question with "no comment" and wouldn't change when he persisted. Next time I saw him, his relationship with me was listed as "Unfriendly". His questions after that tended to be the more challenging ones, mostly about players being left out of the first team, the kind that can impact the player's morale. But as the season progressed, I answered his questions and the relationship gradually changed to "indifferent" and the questions had less of an edge. At least, that was my impression. ryan045
This has potential to bring a whole different dynamic to FM, but only when Sports Interactive realize they need to revamp the whole media mechanics.
johnhughthom
I'm in 2022, and most journalists relationship with me is "Very Unfriendly" or "Hatred". Haven't really noticed any downside to it.
