Each half of the table play each other once to determine final placing...

vs. Dungannon - We were in control the entire match, was a great showing.

vs. Ards - Was up 2 goals in 4 minutes, but was 2-2 by the 30th... a controversial penalty gave us the win.

vs. Glenavon - We dominated the match, was ashamed we gave up a late goal but we got the 3 points.

vs. Crusaders - The worst match of the month, but we still got the point from behind.

vs. Ballymena - Rooney's hat trick made this comeback from behind victory possible... great performance to win.

Danske Bank Premiership April Results - Solid 7th place.

Thoughts

Ballymoney United - Danske Bank Premiership - 2016-2017 Season Results

European Competition Rankings - Down 2 to 81st!

Danske Premier League Season Review - We had the top Goal Scorer and Top Assist Leader in the league Glenn Arthurs... We we also the Biggest Overachievers.

New Contract - 2 years, 350/week

Stats and Competitions - Portadown - Champions League; Coleraine, Glentoran, Linfield - Europa League

Finances - We're broke... we need at least Europa League....

Transfers -

Incoming - We got some talent in that'll be mentioned in Key Players. Particularly Strikers Sean Southam & Gerard Rooney, and Attacking midfielder James Wilson.

Outgoing - Darren Coyle left and retired. Armstrong, McClean, McCusker, Brace and Donaghy weren't good enough for the Squad... the rest of the transfer was nothing more then a ton of loans.

The Squad - Need to get it stronger. Can only seek players in Northern Ireland still, but it all comes down to money.

Key Players

Glenn Arthurs - He is the Danske Premier League - Leading Goal Scorer & Player of the Year. Our 18 year old Northern Irish Striker is the best player in the league. In 35 appearances he scored 25 goals, 1 for 1 in penalty kicks, 14 assists, 4 Player of the Match honors for an Average Rating of 7.26... His contract expires at the end of next season, so we'll try and extend it ASAP.

Sean Southam - Our new acquisition Sean Southam did well for himself in his first season. He was a bit injured but has the quality to be as good as Arthurs. In 25 matches he scored 22 goals with 8 assists and 6 Player of the Match honors for an average rating of 7.54.

Gerard Rooney - Our 26 year old striker is also new to the team. In 21 matches he scored 14 goals with 3 assists and 3 Player of the match honors for an average rating of 7.36. He does play more as an attacking midfielder and scores well from that position.

James Wilson - Our 24 year old Attacking midfielder did great. In 35 matches he scored 11, was 1 for 1 in penalty kicks, had 12 assists with 3 Players of the Match, with an average rating of 7.00.

Matthew Hynds - Our 23 year old attacking midfielder did well, in 30 appearances he scored 5 goals with 10 assists with an average rating of 6.82. He's one of the most sought after players on the team and is always in the tougher matches getting the job done.

Shea Hill - Our 17 year old central defender is all the rage, many clubs are after him and he's improving well. In 26 matches he scored 3 goals with 1 assist and 3 Player of the match honors for an average rating of 6.72.

Brendan Quinn - As usual a good goalkeeper is hard to find... I haven't found him yet... Our 30 year old keeper was first choice for the season. In 34 matches he conceded 96 goals, had 2 clean sheets with an average rating of 6.52.

Thoughts

We need money from Europe.

We need a great goalkeeper.

Ballymoney United - Danske Bank Premiership - 2017-2018 Pre-Season Results

Confederation's Cup 2017 Mexico beats Japan in the final 3-1.

Preseason Odds - 33-1 odds, 10th place finish... I put us at least 9th place.

VKiB5iJ.png

vs. Dundela - We just barely got the C2 team in the 93rd minute... a win is a win!

vs. Lurgan Celtic - A solid win for us as one of our new signings, Mark Surgenor got a hat trick in his first match for us in this thrashing!

vs. Bangor - Another great win against the third C2 side of the preseason... we're definitely doing something right.

Thoughts

Got 2 great, 1 good new signing, we let go of 7 or so... renewed a ton of contracts and going for it. So far we're doing well.

vs. Coleraine - We did well in the match, Arthur's brace was nice.

vs. Knockbreda - Co. Antrim Shield 1st Round - The C1 team didn't put up much of a fight here. We coasted to victory thanks to a Southam brace!

vs. Crusaders - We were winning this match the entire time, but after the 60th minute we gave up 2 goals to end up with a tie.

vs. Glentoran - Outplayed and outclassed, went down a man too... correct result.

vs. Glentoran - County Antrim Shield Semi Finals... our backup team had the match 3-0 at half time, at the end of regulation it was 3-3... At Half time of extra time it was 4-4... second half of extra time brought them 2 goals in 2 minutes to keep us out of the final...

vs. Dergview - Gotta give the C1 team some credit, they never gave up, and they couldn't keep up, we're into the 4th round of the League Cup

vs. Carrick - Close match, the difference was the last 15 minutes where they scored and we didn't.

Danske Bank Premiership - October Table - Still in 3rd place surprisingly.

vs. Dungannon - Solid match against one of the relegation candidates, solid win with Surgenor's brace.

vs. H & W Welders - They tried and put up a fight but couldn't compete, they are in last place for a reason, Kennedy's brace helped the win.

vs. Linfield - Match of the month.... Arthur's hat trick and a clean sheet was a sight to behold.

vs. Coleraine - When you score 6 you can give up 3... Arthurs & Sugrenor both had braces!

Danske Bank Premier League - November Results - Great month, we're back in second place!

A great set of results there for November! Following with interest.
Nice! GD suggests that you and Portadown are in a class ahead of the rest of the league. Charging towards Europe, hopefully!

Thanks! Yeah we're doing quite well, November was a great month. December not so much but still not bad... Portadown is better than us, I can except us being second to them for now as Jens Lehmann is proving to be a great manager for them. I think we can get into the Europa League next season... we need it already being 500k in the red. Linfield is putting up a battle for second place at the moment so we'll see. Next 2 things we need after money is turning professional and being able to scout outside Northern Ireland.

Glenn Arthurs had a great season - you are right, you need European football!

Half a million in debt, without it I don't progress... its a necessity now... I get on average 200 fans a match and can't afford the 4k weekly salary as is. Glenn Arthurs I bought in the first season and he's progressed with the club from day 1, he's doing great still, currently the league's top goal scorer, and has the league's highest average rating

Ballymoney United - Danske Bank Premiership - 2017-2018 December Results

hMzkM8o.png

vs. Distillery - Solid match, Surgenor's brace was a huge help in this one.

vs. Donegal Celtic - League Cup Quarter Final - The C1 side put up a fight against a not so good backup squad that just got the win for us.

vs. Portadown - We lost to the best team in the league... we tried but failed.

vs. Crusaders - Arthur's hat trick rocked the home crowd as we had a great victory to behold.

vs. Cliftonville - Even though we lost by 2 goals... it wasn't a good performance.

vs. Glenavon - we fought to tie it up only to leak 2 more goals in the last 15...

vs. Glentoran - We were down 3-0 at half time, and with some substitutes enabled a comeback from behind tie of epic proportions.

Danske Bank Premier League December Results - Still in 3rd place.

Thoughts

The fixture dates are cruel at times forcing us to not always play our best players, we're making due, but 3rd is a must for Europa League!

Ballymoney United - Danske Bank Premiership - 2017-2018 February Results

YgDl6by.png

vs. Killyleagh - League Cup Semi Final - The C1 team made the match to close to call as our backup team struggled to keep up, but got to the final regardless. We play Portadown in the final

vs. Portadown - We lost the defensive battle 1-0 as they got lucky and we didn't... was a shame.

vs. Institute - Irish Cup 5th Round - Solid win against the C1 side with Southam netting a brace.

vs. Glentoran - Couldn't must any offense... I am very annoyed...

vs. Cliftonville - Damn and again at home we just couldn't do a thing...

Danske Bank Premiership - February Results - Second place by 5 points...

Thoughts

We're falling apart at the moment. 7 more matches in the season and its either a top 3 finish or Irish cup to save us.... 641k in debt and counting. A good Europa League run is what we need.

vs. Glenavon - Solid 2-0 win, only bad thing is Glenn Arthurs got hurt in this match, and missed the next 2 matches.

vs. Grove Utd - Irish Cup Quarter Final - The non Leaguers got spanked by us, other than a single great strike by them we got them good. Noel Kennedy is showing he can play well.

vs. Linfield - They're in first place, but definitely didn't play like it... by half time it was 3-0 with no hope of coming back and winning. Our next match is again Linfield as we go into the final part of the season. We have over 50% shot at European Football next season.

Danske Premiership Table for March - In second place.

Thoughts

Youth Candidates - Not much there for the first team...

We also have the League Cup Final against Portadown this month as well as the Irish Cup semi final against Loughgall as well as 3 out of the 5 final matches of the season including top 3 teams Linfield and Portadown.

vs. Linfield - Lucky home win, tight match, we got a nice 3 points.

vs. Portadown - League Cup Final - our good players were given a rest, it was worth it when we have important matches to fight for... winning and losing this match is a difference of 4k...

vs Loughgall - Irish Cup Semi Final - The C1 club couldn't handle our onslaught. We made it to the Irish Cup Final against Portadown in style.

vs. Portadown - Sadly after going up 2-0 in the first half, Portadown came back and hit us for 2 more.

vs. Glentoran - We got the lead at the end of the first half, and lost it again.

Ballymoney United - Danske Bank Premiership - 2017-2018 Postseason Summary

European Competition Rankings - Up 2 to 79th!

Premiership Review

Season Summary

Finances - 600k and rising...

Transfers - brought in 2 attacking midfielders, a backup goalie and a good defender. Sold off guys who weren't good enough. We transferred out quite a few more then we we brought in.

The Squad - This season has sorted out the men from the boys... we need more men!

Key Players

Brendan Quinn - Our 31 year old Northern Irish goalkeeper was our first choice again, he isn't interested in a new contract yet but we hope he does... so far 2 other clubs are interested. In 38 appearances he conceded 73 goals, had 5 clean sheets with 1 Player of the Match honors with an average rating of 6.77. Looking forward to how he performs at the European Level.

Bryan Young - The 19 year old center defender had a great year for his age. In 35 appearances he scored 4 goals, had 7 assists with 2 player of the match honors. He had an Average Rating of 7.01. 10 clubs offered me nothing to transfer him during the last seson lol.

Mark Surgenor - The 32 year old Northern Irish attacking midfielder had a good year for us. In 34 matches he scored 8 goals with 14 assists, and 3 Player of the match honors with an average rating of 6.90. He'll be doing well for us for a couple more years.

James Wilson - Our 25 year old Northern Irish attacking midfielder/striker did well for us. In 32 matches he scored 13 goals with 15 assists and 2 player of the match honors with an average rating of 7.07. Glad he's willing to sign a new contract for decent terms.

Noel Kennedy - The 19 year old Attacking midfielder/striker is highly sought after. In 27 appearances he scored 13 goals with 13 assists with 4 Player of the match honors with an average rating of 7.29.

Sean Southam - The 29 year old backup striker helped us immensely in the cups. In 15 appearances he scored 11 goals with 3 assists with 3 Player of the match honors with an average rating of 7.55.

Matthew Hynds - The 24 year old attacking midfielder had a stellar year for us as he was named the Danske Bank Premiership Player of the Year. In 31 matches he scored 17 goals, converted 1 penalty kick, 10 assists, and 5 player of the match honors with an average rating of 7.17.

Glenn Arthurs - Our 19 year old striker was once again the Danske Bank Premiership Top Goalscorer. In 34 matches he scored 30 goals, converted 3 out of 3 penalty kicks, had 12 assists, with 6 player of the match honors with average ratings of 7.41. Thankfully he's interested in a new contract.

Ballymoney United - Danske Bank Premiership - 2018-2019 Preseason and Europa League Failure

3-1 Odds of winning the league, 8th place prediction

Season Expectations - Mid-table finish

Y1uSkzu.png

vs. St. Johnstone - Had to use our backup team for this cause of the Euro match 5 days later, and it showed in our loss.

vs. Litex - Euro Cup 1st Qualification Round Leg 1 - We went to Bulgaria and took the early lead... and before half time doubled it... but in the second half 2 substitutions came in and took the match to us... we tried and failed...

vs. Litex - Euro Cup 1st Qualification Round Leg 2 - At home we went down 2 quick, it wasn't till the second half that we got our wits back and starting fighting, we got a penalty kick but couldn't rally it up to their level.

vs. Ayr - Our second Scottish preseason match featuring some of our 4 new players and we got destroyed.

vs. Hearts - Our final preseason match against our Scottish friends was a loss but we actually played decently in this one, Hearts is one of the better Scottish teams so its an acceptable loss given how we played.

Thoughts - slim pickings as to who we could afford to come to the club at this point, we're broke. Got a bit more than 130k for the Euro loss plus nice ticket sales from Litex's home game and the 1900+ who came to see hearts. Hope the rest of the season is just the opposite

Nice career so far, JerseyShoreDave! Finances are looking tight. Any way to increase then in Ireland besides competing in Europe as much as possible?

Thank you and from what I've seen... not really. I only get on average 167 people per match... I either need people buying stuff, coming to games, or Europe and it seems to be ALL linked to Europe... I should get a better kit sponsorship but that won't cover much still...

Finances - A look at Finances on February 1st.... only 661,535 in the red. I'm under the salary cap by 300/week not much more I can see that can be done. Am I missing something obvious?

vs. Dumbarton - This friendly was against a Scottish Championship side, It didn't matter to me what happened with it since 4 days latter we had to go to Cyprus for the Europa League. I'm surprised our backup team scored 3 on them.

vs. Apollon L. - Europa Cup 1st Qualification Round, Leg 1 - The Cyprus team was expected to destroy us, but we took the early lead, and then Glenn Arthurs doubled it, in the second half we gave up 2 goals making it a 2-2 tie.

vs. Falkirk - This friendly was against the Scottish Championship side was a blowout for the back up squad... didn't really care about it to be honest.

vs. Apollon L. - Europa Cup 1st Qualification Round, Leg 2 - At home the Cypriots couldn't do anything. At half time the scored was 1-0, in the second half we nailed them twice to make it to the 2nd round.

vs. Hamilton - The Scottish Championship team thrashed our backup squad badly.

vs. Rijeka - Europa Cup 2nd Qualification Round, Leg 1 - The third best team in Croatia put up a good fight at home, they scored right at half time, second half we picked up steam, Glenn Arthurs tied it up, about 7 minutes later, he gets hurt... out for 4 weeks.... We go to Croatia for the second leg.

vs. Kilmore Rec - The Northern Irish C2 side put up a good fight, but in the end our backup squad won it thanks to a brace from McGrath.

vs. Rijeka - Europa Cup 2 Qualification Round, Leg 2 - This wasn't a pretty match, in the first have the unlikely own goal, then they scored to tie it up. They battered us with attacks, but we held firm, in the only counter attack of the second half James Wilson nets us the winner!

vs. Dergview - The C1 side battled our backup players and did well, took us to the 70th to tie it up, we should of won.

vs. Djurgarden - Europa Cup 3rd Qualification Round Leg 1 - One again at home, We get the first goal thanks to Hynds in the 34th, in the 40th the Swedish Club struck back tying it up for halftime. Taking not that they're 1 point out of the Relegation playoff this season after 20 matches, I decided to push the pressure up on them since we were at home, and did so successfully when it paid off in the 80th minute thanks to Potter's header.

vs. Newry City AFC - A non league team played out backup squad for the 1-1 tie, not a good match... we're easier better quality than that.

vs. Djurgarden - Europa League 3rd Qualification Round, Leg 2 - We went to Sweden and played in front of 21,777 people... no one could score. My defender Shea Hill was man of the match. The 0-0 tie means we make the Europa League Playoff to get into the Group Phase...

Thoughts

The next month the fixtures are crazy, its going to be a tough season for everyone.

To make the Group Phase of the Europa League... we need to beat over 2 legs... Club Brugge, the 2nd best Belgium club last season.

We managed to sign everyone we wanted who had their contract expiring at the end of the season to new contracts, 6 players who I'm keeping in the team are not coming back. They're not good enough but we need players for the back up team and so thats where they'll be.

The 2 guys we bought are good players. First is 19 year old Trever Ferguson. He signed right after we won our first Europa League series.

Ryan Burns is a versatile attacking midfielder/striker who will primarily fill the right attacking midfielder position that has been weak. We're currently 300/week over our salary cap, but it seems with enough potential loans we'll be under that number again.

vs. Crusaders - The backup team did well in the tie, I can't complain.

vs. PSNI - Co. Antrim Shield 1st Round - Noel Kennedy's penalty kick did it all, was a poorly played match due to 2 days rest, and in 2 days the A team fight for the Europa League Group stage... cluttered fixtures.

vs. Carrick - Nice win for us, almost ended in a tie. Goalkeeper we key.

vs. Killyleagh - Co Antrim Shield Quarter Final - So far the worst team in the league (at the time the match was played), and it shows. They got 1 goal on 1 shot on goal all match.

vs. Loughgall - League Cup 2nd Round - Wow extra time against the C1 club, thanksfully we managed the win.

vs. Dungannon - Right result, little tight for my liking but its 3 points.

vs. Portadown - A tie against pretty much the best team in the league still, and getting it off the own goal, yeah its acceptable at this point given our injuries.

vs. Ballinamallard Utd - Wow Stephen Potter scored 4 times... sadly though our competition did as well... should of won this based on Potter's performance as well, it was a poor day for the defense.

Team Stats & Competitions

European Competition Rankings - Danske Bank Premiership up 8 spots to 72nd.

European Club Rankings - Up 403 to 384th.

Danske Bank Premiership Year End Summary

Transfers - Brought in a new striker, right attacking midfielder, and backup central attacking midfielder... all 3 contributed to our title win.

Finances - Much better than we were, our new budget allows us to spend 12k per week instead of 5k which will be bad for finances unless we have a good Champions League run.

The Squad - The Strongest ever, will need to get stronger for the Champions League

Key Players

Wayne McClements - Our 21 year old Northern Irish Goalkeeper is progressing nicely. In 59 matches he conceded 89 goals with 12 clean sheets for a 6.68 Average Rating. I think he should be willing to stay at the club.

Gordon Beatty - Our 22 year old Northern Irish defender was our best performing defender. In 36 appearances he scored 4 goals with 1 assist with 2 Player of the match honors for a 6.97 rating, he should be staying at the club as well.

Matthew Hynds - Our 26 year old central attacking midfield was injured for a bit of the time this season. In 30 matches he scored 8 goals with 13 assists and 2 Player of the match honors for an average rating of 6.91.

Henry Warren - Our 25 year old Northern Irish left attacking midfielder had a great season. In 42 matches he scored 10 goals, converted 1 penalty kick, had 24 assists and 4 Player of the match performances for an average rating of 7.09.

Alan Davidson - Our first Scottish player served as backup central/right attacking midfielder roles. The 32 year old had a great half a season with us. In 17 total appearances he scored 11, converted a penalty kick, had 5 assists with 2 Player of the match honors with an average rating of 7.22.

Ryan Burns - Our Northern Irish 27 year old right attacking midfielder had a good first year at the club. In 37 matches he scored 11 goals, had 11 assists with 3 Player of the match honors for an average rating of 7.04.

Stephen Potter - The 20 year old backup striker had a great year. In 20 matches he scored 14 goals with 8 assists and 5 Player of the match honors for an average rating of 7.53. He definitely overperformed for the season, he'll sign a new contract I believe.

Trevor Ferguson - The 20 year old striker had a great first year. In 39 matches he scored 16 goals, had 25 assists with 4 Player of the Match honors for an average rating of 7.26.

Glenn Arthurs - The 21 year old striker is The Danske Premiership Player of the Year and was the League Goalscorer of the year. In 35 appearances he scored 34 goals... converted 5/6 of the penalty kicks with 12 assists and 8 Player of the Match honors for an average rating of 7.57. I think he'll sign a new contract.

Thoughts

Game got harder with how hard it was to finally win the league.

Our weekly budget is up too 12,887/week from just over 5k... we have to perform to afford it. That means Champions League success.

Turkey are the European Champions in 2020

League Odds 1-2 odds for 3rd place.

EgNE0Eu.png

vs. Abbey Villa - The C1 team beat our backup team...

vs. Aktobe - Champions League 2nd Round Qualification Leg 1 - The Champions of Kazakhstan fought us hard, but Glenn Arthurs' brace saw us thru to victory in the first leg.

vs. Nottingham Forest - Our Backup squad got utterly destroyed by the English Championship side...

vs. Aktobe - Champions League 2nd Round Qualification Leg 2 - At home we took control with the 3-0 lead at halftime... in the start of the second half they got a brace on us but Fitzgerald put the match away in the 70th with a great goal that took the wind out of their sails... we made it to the 3rd Qualifying round.

vs. Coleraine - The C1 side didn't play well and neither did we quite honestly we should of lost the friendly but its irrelevant compared to our next match.

vs. FC Kobenhavn - Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round Leg 1 - We down in the 5th minute but we took over from there. Both starting strikers got a goal for the win.

vs. FC Kobenhavn - Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round Leg 2 - We actually had more possession, more shots on goal, and played better but no one could scored... was a battle of goalkeepers and we somehow won.

Thoughts

In the Champions League our Playoff match is against Olympiakos the Greek Champions.

We renewed all of the contracts we wanted except for our star goalkeeper who doesn't want a new contract... I hope before the end of the season he does sign with us.
