50 Shades of Seattle Grace

So the board has agreed to building a new stadium. There was no news event telling me the details, just an update in the boardroom screen.

However, I have had a stadium building thing on the board room screen 3 times over the past 15 seasons, so I am waiting until the end of the current season to see if it actually goes through :/

fingers crossed

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2031/32 - Thirteenth

Honestly suprised we were as high as this. We were shocking bad all season.

My big signing Edith between the sticks did well, but the defence in general was just atrocious. We let in 73 this season.

Towards the end of the pre season, I signed Italian striker Enrico Pettinari who should be so much better than Paul Garmey.....but he just didnt score.

I would then play Garmey and he would get a double. I dunno what it is about that bald Welshman, but he can net goals like no other.

Not sure what to do about my back four. The starting four of Svoboda, Matouni, Garcia and Tosi are all still learning. Svoboda seems like a bit of a bust though and is just inconsistant as all hell. Tosi got pissed earlier in the season and hated me, but we made up and he is coming along nicely.

I have a wealth of choice in attacking midfield at the moment but should strengthen with an awesome centre mid or DM.

Oh also, on the 27th of December 2031, we lost 9-1 to a decidedly average Derby team. :(

League Table

Games

Finances - Spent 3.3 mil on facilities upgrade. Should be getting new stadium? Who knows. Big tax bill and shareholder payout though.

FA Cup - Our poor form is shown well here. Barely got through against L1 Luton. Struggled against L1 Rotherham. Really should have lost against Champ Peterborough and then lost to Champ QPR who came 20th in their league.

This was me playing my A side too.

Capital One Cup - In one of our only good games of the season, we really took it to Tottenham and played well. Finally going down late in ET in the 3rd Round.

Squad - I actually think we have a decent team. Looking at the squad, we need a replacement for Svoboda and I need to find a youngster to bring up. All the kids I want to sign up from South America can never ever ever ever ever ever get a work permit though. I Don't get it.

Key Player Profiles

Luis Garcia - He has done well this season. Had a slow start but is doing well in training.

Mohamed Matouni - Two Defenders in Key players when they shipped a record amount of goals? True, but they had higher overall stats. Matouni I grabbed on a free last year and is ony of my best pickups. I can see him being a future leader.

Player of the Season

Paul Garmey - I honestly don't understand how he is so good. It makes me laugh. I benched him for a whole chuck of the season thinking that the new Italian kid would blow him out of the water. When that failed, played Garmey and the goals were there again.

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2032/33 - Fifth

A crazy season where we were suprisingly good, yet still had too many yoyo games.

Playing Spurs and Man Utd, they both put 7 past us, yet we beat them on other occasions.

A season highlight would be beating an understrength Man City Team 4-0, Newcastle coming out of nowhere to take the title or us beating Man Utd in a nailbiter in the FA Cup Final.

Euros should be fun next season.

League Table

Games

Finances - Flying now. Didn't spend all of our transfer budget this season and actually made some money on player sales. Gate receipts are still poor with most of our money coming from TV revenue.

FA Cup - After last years rubbish showing, I thought we were in for it again. A replay against L1 Mansfield which we only just scraped by. However we showed some real form to get to the final. Liverpool put up a real fight and I thought there was no way we would beat Man City in the semis. Great season.

Capital One Cup - A terrible game to start the season, however our team was still coming together. Will look for more next season.

Squad - I actually think we have a decent team. Looking at the squad, we need a replacement for Svoboda and I need to find a youngster to bring up. All the kids I want to sign up from South America can never ever ever ever ever ever get a work permit though. I Don't get it.

Key Player Profiles

Ian Allardyce - Another player who I don' think has the tactical ability to be good enough in the league, but put in great matches every game.

Mohamed Matouni - Getting better every season. He did well for Morocco in the African Nations Cup where they lost in the final to Ghana. However in the Semis they beat Mali 8-0, with Matouni getting a 10 Rating.

Player of the Season

Luis Garcia - Great season which held our shaky defence together.

Youth Players

Dom Houghton - I Spent 6.5mil on this kid and I think he has what it takes to be special. Will see how he comes along and try to get him out on loan next season.

Wow so we just played recently promoted Ipswich twice. Once in the league then 3 days later in the Cap 1 Cap. Both games were at home

First game was a 5-5 draw with them scoring in the 80th after a terrible goalkeeper mishap.

Second game was 6-5e. They scored in extra time after another goalie stuffup to make it 4-5. Then we scored twice in injury time of extra time. :D

haha this is a first. It is currently the 12th of march and I havent played a Premier league match in nearly a month. Last game was 19-02. before that I played two cup games as well.

Since that game in Feb, I have played 2 Euro cup 1st round knockout games, 1 Capital 1 CUp Final, 1 FA CUp fifth round replay and a sixth round and 1 Euro 2nd knockout game.

Currently have 5 games in hand to the teams around me.

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2033/34 - Ninth

A stupid season where we couldn't win the easy games. Fixture congestion really screwed us, but was to be expected. Squad depth is the only real way to fix this.

I NEED A NEW STADIUM

League Table

Games

Finances - Quite stagnant now. We did better due to Euros, but stadium is really holding us back

Community Shield - Another stupid ping pong game

FA Cup - We did pretty poorly. CH Stoke took us to a replay and Arsenal had their revenge. We should have done better after winning it last year.

Capital One Cup - Haha such a wierd run. Leaked goals in a wierd game against Ipswich. We were down 4-5 in extra time, but scored twice in injury time in ET. We somehow got by until the Semi final where we dominated Chelsea in the first leg but could only score two. The second leg wasn't much better.

The final was insane. We went down early by two and had an absolutley atrocious first half. I think we had something like 1 shot. Come the second half, an amazing chip shot over the keeper in the 60th got our hearts back in the game and then an Arsenal red card in the 70th had the fans on their feet. Canales leveled it in the 81st after capitalising on a keeper mistake and he netted a pinball goal in extra time. Fantastic game. Felt bad for Arsenal, but they smashed us in the league right afterwards.

Europa League - Group Stage

We really struggled due to the fixture congestion. However, so did the rest of our group and a late winner against OM took us to the top.

First knockout round saw us travel to Russia for the first time and a poor first game was overturned by a nice home win, taking the game on away goals.

Second knockout saw away goals come back to haunt us with a good home win, but we played really poorly in Italy.

Squad -We have a developing squad, but are still leaking goals. Huge holes in our defence, but I actually think our players are ok. We'll see.

Key Player Profiles

Enrico Pettinari - Decent season, scoring 22 in 43(3). Still wastes so many scoring chances though.

Luis Garcia - Another great season. I don't think he is going to be getting any better though which is frustrating.

Player of the Season

Eduardo Canales - 25 goals in 44 (9) games is a pretty good return for a team which we spread our goals around. I like this kid

Youth Players

Dom Houghton - Trying to get rid of his rubbish personality. His stats are pretty stagnant

Bram Artoumian - I spent 13mil on this kid. Crazy I know, but he is going to be amazing. He developed a lot this season after getting some gametime

Sounds terrific :D

Hope they can sort it out for you mate, just had a bug in my career too so I know how frustrating it is!

Cheers mate. Im going to sleep on it and wait for a reply but I might have a go at another challenge for awhile.

Sucks because I am having heaps of fun with this at the moment

HOOOOORAAAYYYYYY

So it still seems like it was bugged that it took this long. However.

Garmey Park was been announced.

It is pretty funny that they named it after Garmey. He is currently playing for Coventry in the League 1 and is only 32. I however, just led the team to 4th place in the EPL and a Europa league final.

He has only scored 11 goals in 75 games at Coventry. He scored 216 in 401 games for us.

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2034/35 - Fourth

Something about this game means that I have really poor starts to seasons and just monster home every year. Not sure why.

It was the case again this season where we were sitting in the bottom half until about Xmas. There was a huge congestion for 4th to 12th place with only 3-4 points in it usually. Newcastle, Man U and Spurs had the lead over everyone all season.

A win for us over Nottm Forest and Man City with only a few weeks left in the season did us really well and gave us a barrier which meant our last two performances, netting us only 2 points, didn't matter.

After taking the squad through a pretty easy Europa Campaign, Man City had their revenge on us in the final, however we had done brilliantly to get there in the first place.

The next day however, the real news came through informing us that a new stadium was being built!

Named after one of the clubs legends, Garmey Park will house 25625 punters and is a huge weight off my shoulders.

Overall it was a good season, but consistency issues still plague us. I think we are good enough to be a top 4 contender every season, however we might just need depth or that quality of player which I am at the moment lacking.

League Table

Games

Finances - The stadium capacity was limiting us pretty badly and our finances were stagnant. The 20mil from 4th place and our Europa cup run kept our head above water however. From now on we will be paying 200k/month in loan repayments however. This will hurt until we can move into the new stadium.

FA Cup - Unlike previous years, where we would battle against poor sides, this year we did well. Until that is we met the rampaging Newcastle. They have a damn good side. We did well however, with youngster Houghton bagging a brace.

Capital One Cup - Backing up last years win was always going to be hard. We did well until the qtr final where we had another stupid game against Brentford. 3-3 at full time, we scored twice in ET to take the game 5-3. Our defence doesn't show up sometimes I swear.

Europa League - Group Stage

We knocked over Hearts and our Russian feeder club Lokomotiv Moscow on our way to the Group Stage. Once there, we rolled into an easy group this season. Napoli were the only real challengers, but we rolled over them easily twice. FC Red Bull Salzburg and Bulgarian side Levski were no hassle as we won every game in the groups.

Czech side Mlada Boleslav were up first in the First knockout. They were however, rubbish and after taking the win away we parked the bus and a 0-0 draw took us to face.....

Sevilla. Our first trip to Spain and again we walked away the winners with a 3-1 win. A 0-1 loss in the home fixture was annoying with the team playing terrible football, however we still came through.

Our first Turkish trip was to play Fenerbahce. They didn't put up much of a fight and after winning 2-0 away, we drew the home fixture 2-2 to advance.

Another first with the club going to Germany. We played Leverkusen in the Semi Finals and dominated them. Their keeper actually took the award for the most clean sheets in the comp, however he got injured a few weeks before our game and we thrashed them. 2-0 in the away leg then 4-1 at home. The home win should have been higher, but my boys went to sleep in the second half and gave them a goal.

The final against Man City was disappointing. We didn't create any chances and after going down early, we couldn't build on anything. The disappointing thing was that they didn't play super well, we were just flat all game.

A great run from the boys anyway and a good learning experience.

Squad -Same as every year. We score with ease, but leak goals like its going out of style. I have adopted a defensive tactic into the rotation to play against high scoring teams. Lets see if that makes much difference. I think next year will be the make or break season for Edith as well.

Key Player Profiles

Juan Ignacio Galindo - Signed as backup for our defence, this kid has been a wonder. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

Nicholas Brambilla - I love this kid. I frantically went searching for a left winger last season after losing our quality RW Iglasias and have only one LQ Palacious who was getting older. Brambilla came on a free from Atalanta and has been amazing. His crossing means he gets an amazing amount of assists and even better is that he still has room to grow. Will be one to watch, even if he had a whine about wanting to move to a bigger club.

Player of the Season

Luis Garcia - Brilliant season even if our defensive numbers didn't show it. He is consistant and everything I could have wanted.

Youth Players

Dom Houghton - After tutoring, his personality has changed from unambitious to professional which has done wonders for his development. However, it hasn't had long to change much so it will take time to see if he can become world class like his potential says he can.

Bram Artoumian - After becoming a first squad player, he has really started to develop. He is still young though and if I find someone better than him, A loan may serve him well.

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2035/36 - Eighth

Another shocking season start to haunt us. We let in goals freely and until the end of January, we had only One clean sheet. I was getting really damned frustrated when we would go overseas and thrash Benfica, come home and lost to West Ham. It didn't make sense.

Come January however, we started to dominate and Thiaguiho learnt basic English and started to net goals with ease.

Next season my goal is consistency, however that's easier said than done.

Premier League

League Table

Games

Finances - Sponsorship is going up nicely which offsets the loan we have out for the upcoming stadium. We were in the red by 10 million midseason, however out finishing money as well as CL TV Money and a few other bonuses have us sitting pretty at the moment.

I am very excited for the new stadium coming and will probably save money before we get it so I can upgrade it ASAP. Hopefully will be able to expand it to 55k ish.

Next season will be saving money a bit for this reason, as well as I just need the younger players to develop.

FA Cup - It should have been an easy start against Norwich who are battling to stay mid table in the Championship. However the team was just shocking and we had to go to a replay at Carrow Road. There the 2-0 win was flattering as we were flat and terrible

A great game against Chelsea was a highlight but a very poor win against Millwall and then CH Blackburn taking us to a replay was disapointing.

In the replay, we were starting to get some form and we put them to the sword, however we still let in 2 goals against one of the worst attacks in the Champ. I don't understand it either.

CH Burnley in the Semis were a pushover, yet still scored before halftime in an annoying crappy goal.

Arsenal stole 7th place from us in the league on the final day and were just here to rub it in again it seems. Juan took us in front after a brilliant team effort in the 19th. However we let two in right after and just couldn't create anything afterwards.

Luckily, Arsenal already had a Euro slot, so as runners up we get a Europa League playoff spot.

Capital One Cup - Disapointing. We scraped by Leeds in the 3rd round and after a fightback against Southampton after being down by 2, we went down in extra time.

UEFA Champions League - Group Stage

A reasonable draw to start against Turkish side Galatasaray. We dominated them on the park, with Thiaguinho scoring four over the two games.

A solid group we drew against PSG, Benfica and Anderlecht, however PSG were the only stumbling block. A disapointing 0-1 loss at Parc des Princes condemned us to second place in the group which meant we drew Barcalona in the 1st knockout.

The home leg was one of the biggest games in local history with the town of Aveley going into meltdown on the day. The 12500 stadium was one of the smaller ones Barca get to play in for such a big game and our team really took it to them. Two early goals and we had the lead going into the second half, however they were just too good and grabbed two back in the second.

Our first trip to Camp Nou wasn't to be as the boys struggled against some rampaging Spaniards. A late consolation from Thiaguinho was a stunner, but it wasn't to be.

A great first effort from the boys.

Squad - I think Fullbacks are currently our weak link. We have a few areas which I am still developing, but out attacking is pretty amazing considering we scored five more goals than Newcastle who won the league. However we shipped the most goals in the league not including the relegated teams :/ Over double the amount Newcastle let in.

Transfers - A new subject since there are some interesting movements these days.

I picked up Thiaguinho ont he cheap as well as new goalkeeper Atzori.

Quite sure I overspent on Antonio and Groenveld but brought in van der Heijden and Abarca on frees who are both Brilliant.

Sold both my underperforming strikers in Canales and Pettinari. I think I made a decent profit on them both.

Key Player Profiles

Rodrigo Antonio - Another newcomer to the team, he will be a central part of my defence as he develops. Learning English is #1 priority atm.

Nicholas Brambilla - Another great season, however it was marred by a few injuries, with a torn groin muscle and a sprained ankle keeping him out for 13 weeks total. Man Utd are sniffing around now, but he will stay mine for a long time yet hopefully. Also he somehow missed out on the Italian side for the Euros. Gutting.

Player of the Season

Thiaguinho - Amazing player who only cost me 5 mil. Best purchase I have made in quite a long time in FM. Scoring at ease for most of the season, most games we lost due to him playing poorly. I need to get his mentals up, but he is still young so we have a ways to go. Would like to get rid of the ambitious trait and replace it with something like Resolute haha. He is already asking for more cash. Got his first Cap this season and is currently playing for the Brazil 23s in the Olympics.

Youth Players

Dom Houghton - Still developing, but lost a heap of gametime to Thiaguinho for obvious reasons. Will give him a few more seasons to see how he goes. 21 or bust :p

Bram Artoumian - A decent season. He is now a first team regular, but a two month layoff in November was a real bummer due to a knee injury.

Mikey McGlynn - My fullback project, I think he will be quality in the years to come.

Thiaguinho has been decidedly average this season and wants a new contract. However he wanted 110k/week which was 15 above what I could offer him.

He occasionally has an amazing game, but then has 4 terrible games with no goals.

However, after tinkering with the transfer budget and adding some bonuses to his contract, he accepted 95/week

Then the day after signing scores 3 against Celtic. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Bit of a frustrating season there, hope you (and Thiaguinho) can find some consistency!

Well we only ended up with 1 point less than the season before, but the average points was much higher due to the lower clubs being rubbish.

Thiaguinho isnt exactly doing rubbish, but I think he is one of the best players in England and he has far too many poor games to justify that title.

He did win European Golden boy but I think thats partly leftover from last season's form

Also defending is something I just cant do. I think my defence is pretty solid, but we give up record amounts of goals every single year. The early season slump happens every year too

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2036/37 - Fourth

Quite a standard season for us really. Start off poorly and bring it home really strong.

It can't just be my tactics. We scored the most goals of any team this season (82), but also were level with Brighton for the most goals conceded at 72. Bit of a joke really. Southampton who won it, conceded 31 and scored 68.

Either way, it was a pretty good season. I don't see us becoming a challenger for the title though unless we sort out something with the defence or everyone gives up for a season.

Premier League

League Table

Games

Finances - Money is starting to become an issue with an ever increasing wage budget and it started to show on the bottom line this season. Win bonuses saved our bacon toward the end of the season.

Can't wait for Garmey Stadium to open.

FA Cup - We did quite well against Reading and Brighton, but our stupid bogey team Swansea demolished us in a game where we didn't even show up. Should have the let U18 team play instead.

Capital One Cup - Solid turnout from the boys with a great away win against Man City at Blanc Park. However we were outclassed by Man Utd in the semis. Our effort in the first leg was terrible.

Europa League - Group Stage

After demolishing Stade Rennais FC to get into the group stage, we were drawn with a very easy group. Other than a shocking effort in an away game in Poland, we dominated the other teams.

The first round knockout took us to Holland where we went down in the first leg after some good play. The second leg we smashed them at home after some terrible goalkeeping blunders from their team.

Celtic were next on the chopping block, and after signing a new contract Thiaguinho was in the mood to score bagging a hatrick in Scotland. The second leg was more of the same and we were into the quarter finals again.

Malaga were up next but were shocking. For this level of play, I was a bit disapointed.

Three English teams remained in play at this point and we drew Brighton. They had been average all season in the league, but came out of the blocks firing. We scraped by in the away leg, but were terrible at home. A 0-1 loss was enough to get us through on away goals.

The final against Arsenal in France was fantastic. We took the early lead but Arsenal replied nearly straight away. In a fantastic defensive match, a Brambilla stunning free kick led to us taking the lead. We held on well and took our first continental trophy!

Squad - Same as Last year. I still think the defence has good players, but they are just shocking at keeping the ball out of the net. On the offensive side though, we can score with ease.

Transfers - Bought Withy from Bournemouth who will be an amazing striker in years to come. Will lead England to more world cup success I bet.

Jonathon Bozzo is another project who will be an amazing AMC playmaker.

Lucase Riva I picked up on a free and he scored most of my goals this season. Score!

Ruben Bonetti has the potential to be one of the best players in the world. I will be trying to move him here on a permanent basis

I made a tonne of money this season on players who I had brought in cheap. Selling Santos and van der Heijden for 18.25 mil overall was a huge win.

Sad to see Kisombe go, but he isn't good enough anymore.

Key Player Profiles

Juan Igancio Galindo - Another defender ends up in the top 3 somehow. He is a quality player though.

Nicholas Brambilla - Still brilliant and just signed a new deal until 2041. Last game vs Derby took him to 100 games with the club as well.

Player of the Season

Lucas Riva - Probably my best free transfer in quite awhile. He was doing quite well at Ajax so I am not sure why they let him go since he signed for 6mil in 2030. Either way, he outplayed his far more talented strike partner.

Youth Players

Dom Houghton - He has come a long way this season. Quite proud of the progress he is making. He got a lot more gametime this season as I played 2 strikers up front most of the time.

Bram Artoumian - He is coming along nicely, but some major injuries this season were limiting.

Mikey McGlynn - Still developing, but I need him to be a lot better.

Grays Athletic - Barclays Premier League - 2037/38 - First

I honestly didn't see this coming at all. We were poor going into November as usual and I decided to tweak my tactic in for a game against Newcastle. We were leaving too much space between the defenders and the two midfielders, so I dropped one back to defensive mid to see if it would solve the problem. Artoumian was perfect for this and the puzzle piece slid into place. We lost that game but showed promise and came out of the gate and scored 4 against Liverpool the week after. From then on we were pretty much unstoppable.

Either way, I didn't see us being able to catch Brighton and Man Utd. Brighton were at one point 10 points ahead and streaking for the trophy. A streak of poor form at the end of the season slid them down to fourth place however.

Man Utd did the same which I think may have been caused by their Manager retiring at the end of the season.

Either way, we took Man City apart on the final day which brought my tears of joy as I reminisced about games in the past where Man City would destroy me 8-0.

Premier League

League Table

Games

Finances - Looking very healthy at the moment, could be even better.

A stadium upgrade was put on the credit card which I don't understand, but taking 40mil into next season is very handy.

FA Cup - This cup run came in our huge run of form and the poor opponents we faced helped us along. We didn't hit a Premier League side until we got to the final and even then we had beaten Man City 5-1 the week before. They pretty much just laid down and let us take it. A great run by the boys

Capital One Cup - A decent run and a huge comeback win in the second leg of the semi final against Southampton. We were very poor in the final and looking back at how the season ended up, This trophy would have been a nice addition to make it the treble

UEFA Champions League - Group Stage

Our first trip to Israel saw us take on M. Haifa. We easily took care of them to move into the group stages.

I thought we had drawn the group of death, and after taking care of SK Rapid Wein OL and AC Milan drew their game. I was in front but expecting to have my butt handed to me.

However.......We took care of AC Milan at home and then travelled to Lyon where we put 7 on them. A disapointing return leg was out only dropped points, but we romped through the group.

Dortmund were first up in the first knockout round and they comfortably handed us our first loss of the competition. Still reeling, the boys put their heads back on and dominated the home leg, taking back the lead and taking us on.

PSG were up next and having dealt with them easily in previous seasons I was expecting to walk into the semis. I was wrong. really wrong.

AVB has turned his side around and they dominated us. We couldnt get a shot on target and they scored three with ease. The home leg wasn't much better and we were bundled out.

PSG went on to the final against Man Utd which they lost.

Squad - Getting some amazing results as my young side starts to get some experience. We need a new right back and some backup defenders, but I think we are doing well.

Transfers - George was an amazing striker who was struggling at Fluminense who have become my unofficial feeder club. I paid 10.25 mil and got a world class striker. He is amazing and I now have four world class strikers.

The other pickups are all youngers with high potential.

The only sale was a midfielder who had been injury prone so I gave up on him.

30 million and 35 million offers from Man Utd for Antonio and Thiaguinho respectively. Rejected both because they are integral players in my side, are both going to get better and also fk Man Utd :)

Key Player Profiles

Thiaguinho - Back in form this season. he didn't score as many, but he had a lot of competition in front of goal. 26 from 54 is a healthy return on any day.

Nicholas Brambilla - Amazing player who was yet again troubled by injury all season. His stats are amazing, but his natural fitness is concerning as I always need to sub him out just to keep him fresh. Definitely still a star however.

Player of the Season

Juan Igancio Galindo - In his first season as club captain, he lead from the front. My poor tactical choices led to a few extra goals going in early in the season, but once we locked out down he was on form. I think Antonio is a more skillful player, but Juan is a bit older and has a better head for the game.

Youth Players

Dom Houghton - He is killing it now. He has come a long way from the Unambitious 16 year old who could run but was as thick as a brick.

Bram Artoumian - Narrowly missed out on an international jersey for the World Cup, but he will be there in four more years. A brilliant player who is a vital piece of the puzzle now.

Mikey McGlynn - A decent player, I am just not sure of how he is progressing. He is currently with the England side at the World Cup.
