sporadicsmiles
European Superleague - with a twist! For those who like a bit of a background story, here goes. Due to evidence of large scale corruption amongst the top teams in European football, UEFA decided to expel all European nations from continental competitions - to general outrage amongst fans and clubs. To combat this hard feeling, UEFA decided upon the creation of a new Europe-wide competition, filled with 16 new teams from around the continent, and populated by the greatest players of the modern era. With the expulsion of the existing teams, UEFA ordered a compulsory buy-out of the contract of all the top players in Europe (along with a few non-compulsory buyouts from around the globe). Once the contracts were bought, there was a grand auction of players by the 16 clubs, to determine who would play where! The result is a new 16 team competition, where the greatest players in the world will compete together and against each other, week in, week out. What was actually done (the not so glamorous true story) In reality, there was no auction. What really happened was a random draw which lead to certain players going to certain teams. In this instance, I filtered players by position and then ordered them by CA (secondarily by PA), and used a random list generator to order the 16 teams. The team first got the best player, the team second get the second best, etc. I only did this process once, and it lead to reasonably balanced teams. Each teams is composed of the following elements: 1 manager 2 GK 2 DR/WBR 4 SW/DC 2 DL/WBL 4 DMC/MC/AMC 2 MR/AMR 2 ML/AML 3 ST This balance of positions ensures that most formations are possible, without biasing a particular one. The teams I will detail in subsequent posts, so I will not spoil that here. The league system is a straight 16 team round robin, with the team in first being crowned winner. There is also a cup competition featuring all 16 teams, which is 2-legged up until the final. The league is based in England (which is just easier to do, pure and simple less editing this way). I have also changed the nationality of the best referees in the world to English to allow them to referee the competition. The current state of the database The database has been tested until 2030 and is stable. Everything appears to be in order from what I can see, but please inform me of any bugs or issues you may find whilst playing. Download and instructions Click here to download the editor file Once downloaded, place this file into your C:\Users\USER\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\editor data folder. To start a game, select the England on the competition select screen. Click here to download the graphics Once downloaded, extract the files to your C:\Users\USER\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\graphics folder (create it if it doesn't exist. I am unsure if the graphics will work if you use more than one editor file, as I have no tested the compatability of the database with any other user created file. Enjoy! sthptngomad76
Great job! Simple question (it's been driving me nuts as I'm quite a noob at the editor lark), I want to modify your file for my own personal use... I'd like the league split into 2 divisions, each of 8, with everyone playing one another 4 times. There's be two up and down between the two tiers...if anyone could put up a version with these features (with OP's approval of course), or at least indicate how I could do it myself within the editor (ie do I need to delete the comp and start afresh?), it'd be greatly appreciated!
