Clitheroe - npower League Two - 2016/17

Our first season in the Football League, staying in it is our priority! We have also moved into our new stadium with a capacity of 4,719 (1,179 seated).

League Table

League Positions Graph

Well, a league title, I wasn't expecting that! We had it easy, being undefeated until January then towards the end of the season we had a wobble but managed to keep getting points on board. League One here we come!

F.A Cup - Aston Villa were too strong in the 3rd Round.

Carling Cup- Derby stopped us at the first hurdle.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy - I was hoping to get into the Final, we fell short.

Lancashire Senior Cup - Our Youth team fell in the Preliminary Round against lower league opposition.

Squad - Our squad have done well, only a few new signings to compliment our squad.

Finances - Still in the black, increased crowds helped our wage bill, hopefully I can get sell-outs next season.

Key Player Profiles:

James Dowling - His stats seem to be getting worse, hopefully he can find the net more next season.

Loris Karius - Another good season for the German goalkeeper, should be number 1 again next season.

Jesse Mann - Had a good season, top scorer.

Martin Boyle - Second season with us after joining from Queen Of The South, I was surprised how quick he got up to League Two standard.

Career Summary:

Currently in January, we are not quite good enough to get in the Play-Off places, hopefully I can get a couple of loaners in to help!

Also just been offered the job at Brighton but rejected, even though they are a club near me I don't think they are big enough for me to leave Clitheroe!

Everything about that game is wrong:

1. Arsenal had a bloke sent off.

2. You missed a penalty at 0-0.

3. They took the lead.

4. You got 3 late goals.

5. Your player got a hat-trick.

I'm sorry but that just doesn't happen in FM, at the start of the game everything was against you (yes the red card benefits Arsenal :D)

Clitheroe - npower League One - 2017/18

Following our surprise promotion I was hoping not to go straight back down.

League Table

League Positions Graph

We had a mixed start to the season but we kept grinding out results which managed to get us into the Play-Offs but Bristol City were just too strong in the Semi-Finals but I'm more than happy with our season, hopefully we can build on this and push for the Play-Offs next season.

F.A Cup - We somehow beat Arsenal in the 3rd Round but Southampton put us out in the 4th.

Carling Cup- Chelsea put us out, not surprised.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy - Once again, out at the Quarter Finals.

Lancashire Senior Cup - A good Everton side put us out.

Squad - We have a decent squad, a couple of additions will put our squad numbers up as we only have a small one.

Finances - Thanks to a couple of good away Cup ties we have improved our finances.

Key Player Profiles:

James Dowling - Still scoring but still no interest in him which is good for us!

Loris Karius - Once again was Number One, good season for the German goalkeeper.

Fergus MacDonald - Impressed after joining from Ipswich Town on a free, definitely one to keep hold of.

John McGarry - Joined for £95,000 from Manchester City, good bit of business.

Currently sitting n a Play-Off place, getting some mixed results, Chairman sold one of my best midfielders for £1,000,000 but I cannot find a suitable replacement, hopefully I will find one next season. Southampton put us out the F.A Cup again, I'm getting fed up of them!

Clitheroe - npower League One - 2018/19

After a great year last season we were hoping to equal it but win promotion.

League Table

League Positions Graph

We were up in the Play-Offs for most of the season but once again we were knocked out of the Play Offs in the Semi Final stage as Ipswich were just too good.

F.A Cup - Southampton knocked us out the F.A Cup once again, I'm starting to dislike them!.

Carling Cup- West Brom just a bit too strong for us.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy - Bradford put us out in the Quarter Finals.

Lancashire Senior Cup - A strong Manchester City team knocked us out, I'm determined to win this competition though!.

Squad - We have a decent squad, I bought in 14 new players, mostly 18/19 year olds.

Finances - In debt, I'm hoping a couple of Cup runs can help us out.

Key Player Profiles:

James Dowling - Unfortunately got injured in January, I think it was the reason we failed in our promotion bid

Loris Karius - He is improving, going to be tough to keep him.

David Navarro - Done well after arriving on a free from Millwall.

Patrick N'Koyi - Came in on a free transfer from F.C Eindhoven, great signing for us.

FAROE ISLANDS UNDER 21'S

I saw this opening and thought I'd apply, I thought it would be good to get back into International management and being Under 21's it's better as there is less pressure on getting results. First game is a friendly but the Under 21's Championship Qualifyers resume in September.

THIS is the current Qualifying Table

Clitheroe - npower League One - 2019/20

After another defeat in the Play-Offs the previous season we wanted promotion more than ever.

League Table

League Positions Graph

After being up near the top for most of the season we deserved our promotion, the players did well but I hope they are good enough for the Championship

F.A Cup - Disappointed to go out against Barnet.

Carling Cup- Blackburn too good for us.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy - Exit at the first stage, was hoping to win this Trophy.

Lancashire Senior Cup - A trophy to go into our cabinet! We played really well in the Final.

Squad - Our squad is developing well, hopefully with increased reputation I can strengthen the squad.

Finances - Finally profit, the Play-Offs helped that.

Key Player Profiles:

James Dowling - Played well once again, he's been with us since the Northern Premier League, is doing well for a £5,000 buy!

Loris Karius - Need to keep him if we are to stay in the Championship.

Marc Vind - Doing well, another one who can improve.

Great little blog, am following with interest as I am indeed from the fair town of Clitheroe. I don't get to many Clitheroe FC games these days but may start going again in the coming season due to the nightmares happening at my club Blackburn Rovers.

I do follow their progress in the local rag and they nearly got relegated this year, maybe you should

give them a ring! :)
