dking
How important is he to the way your team plays, and how much of an impact can he have on team performances?

dking
What about things like pressing style, marking and playing style? How would that effect the way the team plays if it isn't how I've set the team up to play?
Smurf
If it isn't how you set the team up to play I don't know how it would affect it?
dking
What I want to know is how badly, if at all, does it effect the team if say I've got pressing on full but my assmans style is stand off.
Ryknow
Those settings are only for when he takes charge of a game in your place. You have the final word, so his preference of play has no bearing. All staff have these presets in the event they are in charge of a team. I'm not sure it always implemented though. Just check how your U19/reserves sides play in comparison to the coach preferences. If the coach you have selected to take charge of U19s prefers 4-3-3 then they should play that, assuming you haven't stated to use current match tactics. Stephanie McMahon's Secret Lover
Sadly if you edit your AssMan to max attributes and then play the same season with min attributes you will notice that there is no difference whatsoever. I'm sorry but anyone who believes otherwise is deluding themselves. I have similar suspicions about all staff but have not tested them.
Smurf
I don't think that's true. Try different Assistant Managers - instead just changing their attributes with an editor. Try an Ass Man with poor media and ask them to do press conferences - I had an Assman with poor media before and he upset my star player when he got injured by telling the media "it wasn't a big loss and lots of players could fill his role" - which wasn't true. The player got upset and took about a season to get his morale back up.

Stephanie McMahon's Secret Lover
I refer you to my previous post. Obviously if an AssMan has all his attributes set to minmum then he'll have poor media. It makes no difference. You'd like to think it does and perhaps you are brainwashed into thinking it does but alas it doesn't. Try as I've suggested. There will be differences due to the nature of computers and random events but adjust all his attributes to max then redo the same season with all attributes set to min. Smurf
Perhaps you're brainwashed into thinking it doesn't? Do you notice over time your players that you've edited slowly return their stats to what they were? There's more to the Ass Man or any position than just the Attributes. Did you also change all their Hidden Attributes? Did you change their personalities?
Stephanie McMahon's Secret Lover
Please read properly what I have written. I never mentioned editing players, I said ASSISTANT MANAGER. I also mentioned his ATTRIBUTES. An assistant manager's "attributes" make no difference. They should but they don't.

OH Sorry - I inadvertently said "Do you notice over time your players that you've edited slowly return their stats to what they were? " I meant "staff" - or any of the AI roles, players, coaches, scouts, assmans, directors etc.
Stephanie McMahon's Secret Lover
In my tests. No the Assman's attributes did not change during the season.
Soccer
Yes, I usually take my Assistant Manager's advice on how to set up my team before the match. From what I noticed, Assistant Managers with better attributes tend to provide more detailed feedback.
