FM 11: Nicolás Otamendi

Plays for Porto. Been AMAZING for me. And have some pretty good stats as seen below(4th season):

I bought him for £6.5m from Porto.

I agree. However, he could be a very good covering defender. Has the acceleration and anticipation. He does resemble a certain Carles Puyol

Have you seen the strength? Bravery? Heading? Those attributes together mean he'll still dominate almost every forward aerially. Get a good partner next to him (good ol' Fazio) and it'd be unstoppable.

Has been really good for my United save, in the second season bought for £10m. Overpaid but had so much money, and only wanted a few players.

Rio was injured so much, so presumed I would need him a lot the second season but so far... Rio has been okay and resorting Otamendi to bench and sub appearances.

One average attribute on a potential world class player, and you wont buy him? Sure, makes a lot of sense.

What Snoop is very true, he will still be dominate in the air.

otamendi was solid on fm10 in my liverpool team paired with sakho were class havenet had him this year but just qualified for champs league on my sunderland save and looking for a new partner for fazio as yobo has been injured quite alot and is getting older

I too have been a bit sceptical in the past because of the jumping but it honestly makes no difference. I love Fazio as much as the next guy but Otamendi is genuinely amazing, and surprisingly still a real threat from et pieces. Probably because of his mental stats and strength. He really is an absolute monster. No Center Forward stands a chance against him. Probably the best defender I have signed in recent times. Surprised me how good he was. Bargain at £16m.

Great Player in FM 10, good to see that he has been upgraded in the new version.
