Neilio
Hi guys, It has become obvious that my desktop is way too old now and I therefore need a new computer, as the demo wont run on it. Because of this, I will buy a new laptop. Now....I am RUBBISH with computers and haven't got a clue what to buy - does anyone know what laptop I can buy, one on which FM 09 will DEFINITELY run on, I will only really use it for Web browsing and FM....nothing else. I don't want to upgrade the one I have as I would like a laptop anyway.... Ideally I don't want to spend more than £400.... Thank you so much for my help!! Serpico
£400 won't buy you much graphical oomph on a laptop. It'll buy you a desktop that would run it great though.
JGM
The best advice I could give you is that you need to buy one with a decent graphics card, not some intel onboard crap. Think youll struggle at that budget tho, another problem is a lot of developers dont even offer tech support for laptop versions of most graphics chipsets so if you play a lot of games I would really recommend getting a desktop instead. backpackant
In my experience so far you'll need at least 4GB Ram. Not sure about the graphics card, but a good one.

My £400 laptop runs FM09 easily with a Intel Chipset, it's a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2515 T5450 (Dual Core, 2GB ram) if you need to know.
Mr.S!N
Only buy a laptop if you need the portability. If not you'll just be wasting money. Don't buy from Dell or get an Apple. Try and get a desktop that has been custom built for you....like the one specd above. You'll save money by not having to buy a whole new laptop every time some new tech comes out. Just take the desktop to someone who knows what they're doing and get the individual parts upgraded. Just my 2 cents.
