Declan Barry
I have noticed on the Cover of FMH09 (FM09 aswell) that Nike are used alot. Ball, Shirts, Boots. Does this affect the FMH series and FMH09 game? I would love to get an answer back Marc (or others) . Thanks.
LSD
Advertising? If Football Manager is linked with the worlds biggest sportswear company... It can only boost sales, no?
Declan Barry
Yes, but cool features could be included with this, like - Differant Balls added (with 2D Pitch), Kits added, Sponsorships (e.g. Shirt sponsors, billboards etc... for extra income) and Players being involved off the pitch (e.g. Fan days, Signings, Modelling ). Koppol
Plus it wouldnt cost them as much to produce the game. I expect no changes with the actual software.
ComeontheArsenal
Players being involved off the pitch (e.g. Fan days, Signings, Modelling ). Errrr, no. If this happened it would be a disaster, you'd have a gimicky game that's more like FIFA Manager, than Football manager. As for the balls i'm not sure it really matters, at this point in time i'm just grateful we're getting a 2D pitch, i'd rather they improved on more important aspects of the game, like finances, more leagues, refining the way transfer's are done etc.
mbchuz
Yeah I don't want games to be packed with advertising, I'd rather pay the extra 5 bucks to keep them clear of it. The last thing we need is a bunch of obvious product-placement in FMH
LSD
Well, I'm sure it's only the cover that you'll see Nike on. Imagine a scenario where a newbie to football games is in a games shop and he sees FMH2009 with Nike on the cover. Now, he likes Nike so he thinks "Nike, Football Manager... I'll try that"
Chris Ritchie
As far as I'm aware, there's no product placement in FMH09.
Lukaboi
I don't think this would be very interesting as we want more leagues and stuff not nike footballs.
MJGB
Im guessing it may just be a simple advert from Nike on the cover. Nike gets exposure, SI get a few pounds and it gives a slight bit more realism to the game. I highly doubt their will be any ingame advertising. Jarrow Roofing
Is it not a sneaky leak telling us we can control sponsors in this edition?
LSD
Good shout that
MJGB
Is it not a sneaky leak telling us we can control sponsors in this edition? I sure hope that is right. Certainly more intriguing than my answer lol. We will have to get it out of Chris as Marc has too much willpower for us to overcome him before launch day. Bergkamp.10. Jarrow Roofing
Notice how Marc was online when I posted that but never passed comment...
ridley99
i think Jarrow may have hit it on the head but dec i think you reading a bit too much into it. Would be good to have some control over sponsorships/finances though

jjsreading1
after lookin at the cover again there is quite a lot of nike products like shirts, ball and boots ect so im not sure it could have been just a bit of nike sponsorship
Lukaboi
Tbh, I don't think anything will materialize as I just think it was just a bit of sponsorship. I mean it looks better than having some cheap footballs and stuff on the front.
LSD
As I said
