IWWROCKS
Ok I just been sacked and I want to know peoples opinions on this. I'm (or I was) Liverpool, in February 2012, so just over half a season. League expectations were title challange, the minimum I could select. Im 5th, not great I know, 9 points of the top with 13 games left so I dont think im exactly out of the title race but maybe i'm wrong. I'm 2 weeks away from the league cup final, where we would face Ipswich and I think a very good chance of my first trophy. FA Cup? Well that's where I got sacked. Following a 2-1 loss to Chelsea (at stamford bridge) in the 4th round. Sacked directly after that match, so im assuming it was the cause. Personally I feel this was a bit harsh, and am really unsure of what to do. I wanna just re-add myself as Liverpool manager, especially with the cup coming...but I dunno. Oh and another thing: I didnt once have a warning saying I was close to being sacked.

Impale
Hmm. What was your past experience set as? If it was "Sunday League" then that will contribute if you are 'underachieving'. Also the chairman's patience attribute. After the Roy Hodgson debacle last season, Liverpool's chairman's patience may be rated low. 'Tis a thought. IWWROCKS
Past experience was International Footballer. Annoying cause I spent all day playing to get through the season and see what the 2nd half of season features were like. Will continue on and look for job elswhere me thinks. Stuart Warren
Did Liverpool replace you immediately with a high-calibre candidate? If you'd like us to check out your game in further detail feel free to post a thread in the bugs forum and upload a save from prior to your sacking if you still have one (there is a thread on that forum providing instructions on how to upload to our FTP). Thanks, good luck in the new job!
IWWROCKS
No it took a couple of weeks for them to replace me. Ok I do have a save before I was sacked so I shall upload that now and post a thread. Liverpool lost the carling cup final!!! Never thought i'd be happy about my beloved team losing haha
dazzyjeff
I had the same problem - it was around Christmas and New year time. Those cold hearted b******s, ha!. Anyway yeah I was 6th or 7th but only 5 or 6 points off 2nd, can't remember how many points 1st place had. Anyway yeah after a defeat to Man City I was sacked immediately - no warning or anything, I felt it was a little harsh (experience for me was semi-professional footballer) I then figured I wouldn't get a new job so restarted as Tottenham manager, have gotten to the same point in the game (yeah I've played a lot the last 2 days, damn you football manager! by the way I think my girlfriend hates you SI...) and am unbeaten in all competitions - Adebayor and Defoe are amazing together (chose Sunday league footballer for fun). Anyway yeah good luck in whatever position you decide to take. Maybe Liverpool are a hard team this year, they're definitely a bit weak at fullback. Oh and another thing: I didnt once have a warning saying I was close to being sacked. does sound harsh, and sounds like a re-start could be on the cards. what I'VE done, as aston villa, with cost-cutting, wage limits etc is REDUCE the club's rep to a level i believe in (still on a par with everton and joint 7th in the PL), REDUCED owner's ambition (as he WANTS this cost cutting) and reduced fans' confidence in owner as is realistic. that way i can't see myself getting sacked for an *expected* mid-table (maybe bottom half) finish. not sure what the RL ambition is at anfield, liverpool isn't really my chosen specialised subject, but might be worth looking at things like rep and ambition in the editor and seeing if you believe they;re realistic.......
