Noob21
So I took over Arsenal after Wenger retired and I was looking at Javier Pastore who's still in Palermo. Unhappy and all so I decided to bail him out even though his contract is over in a year. Two separate scouts say that he wants 115k to 145k p/w!! and some interest to extremely interested. So I made an offer that was accepted by his team but his asking wage was 64k p/w and he accepted a 56k p/w offer from me This wasn't the first time I had this happen (although it's kind of rare) but I mean..........seriously?! Cougar2010
Scouts in getting it wrong shocker. Its hardly an issue, they aren't programmed to be perfect.
edgar555
To be honest I've always wondered what scouts are doing talking to me about wages anyway. I don't ever take any notice of that number because more often than not its incorrect.
Eles Gergo
I just look at the player, the scouts rough suggestion (not the star system), then if the player is willing to join my team.
Scalamunger
if the palyer was unhappy its likely he would take a lare wage cut to move away and get 1st team football
IMT
Does anyone actually have success with socuts? Most of mine are 20/20 for judging ability and potential but time after time send me endless lists of rubbish they have found.
The Lambs
Does anyone actually have success with socuts? Most of mine are 20/20 for judging ability and potential but time after time send me endless lists of rubbish they have found. I do, they also send me loads of rubbish until I focus their searches. I seem to get better reports if you make them specialise in an area. So I might have one scout with good JPA, JPP and WWY who I keep in Central Europe, but I send him to a Nation at a time as opposed to an Region. I have him purely looking for players under the age of 21. Once his knowledge of the area is high his reports start to get better. I then use the same guy for scout reports on the players he recommends that I want to look at. If his scout reports seems favourable, I send a second scout to look at the payer for a second opinion, if they agree. I sign (or attempt to) the player. Think of scouting as looking for a pearl in a pile of oysters. You could grab one at random and see if you get lucky. Or employ some experts to go through the pile and recommend you a hand full that might contain pearls. You then have to test this handful a bit more to improve your chances of finding a pearl. I also notice that the lower I am down the leagues, the chance of finding the next Messi becomes smaller and smaller. But if you are a top team and have about 9 scouts working full time you should be able to find stars. In my opinion if I don't get a handful of scout reports each time the game progresses then they are not earning their huge wage packet.
