craigcwwe
yeah i play against them every pre season it is a good way for knock in a few goals and give the players some confidence for the new season.

I have about 5 of those in 10 days which usually result in about 100 goals all in:D
Buttgammon
I used to play them every season when I was at Port Talbot as a means for looking at the players, and then to give the players a confidence boost as QPR (I think we beat them 8-0 or 9-0 once). Now I'm managing Villa and I have them play against the Reserves as it would be a bit of a waste of time for the first team to do so.

craigcwwe
i am pretty sure they have not scored against me either. can you manage them in the game?
x42bn6
They're too good for a pre-season friendly. Amateur sides is where it's at. Never understood the point of playing even semi-decent teams unless you need the money.
backpackant
If I'm a prem team I usually have my reserves play them. If I'm Leeds I mix it up; promising youths mainly, but often some trialists in there too.

Never understood the point of playing even semi-decent teams unless you need the money. Playing good opponents sharpens your team, I found that if I played really poor teams my players would go into the first few games over confident and then loose moral. I now do a balance of skill to make sure I get; match fitness, morale boost and hardyness from playing the better teams.
craigcwwe
I like to play good teams and very good teams from foreign leagues.

hilly_boro
I've only ever signed one player. I was in lower leagues in Spain. Did reasonably well. A regen iirc.
phnompenhandy
I stopped bothering. The players are rubbish and over-priced.
