wingz47
Inspired by a post i just read talking about the 74 season database, i have come up with this idea: how about SI, in the future, when releasing a new version of FM, they can make a bonus version of a classic database from a specific year of the past, to go with the default (up to date database). so say, with FM10, when we load the game, we could choose between the default database (2010) or a classic database (1986 or any random year). naturally it would take a lot of hardwork for the researchers to come up with a database of the past. but hell, if they do have this option one day, i don't even mind to pay more for the game (if they decide to charge us extra)! now imagine the sceniro, say a 1986 database, those Man U fans could go back to the past and really play like Fergie, taking over Man U when they hadn't won anything for a long time, and try to bring them back to glory. see if you could do as good a job as Ferguson! ell69
I doubt united fans know much about united pre-1993
Hershie
Too much research and data needed. Not enough demand or reward to merit it.
velonce
Anything older than the original CM is going to be way too much work.
Onizukaeikichi
include the old cm database with a few reasonable tweaks should do the job. Will there be any copy right thing about SI using the CM database, i wonder...
Elrithral
How much are they going to charge for it? It couldn't be full price as it would just be the same game with a different database. Also, why would anyone pay for an extra database when there are so many floating around fansites for free?
phnompenhandy
Just get classic old databases off the Editors' Hideaway forum - for free.
Morgie93
It's not a bad idea, but really it would take a long long time to create, and like you said in the op, researchers would have their work cut out to get the team, finances etc from a previous year that may be a decade ago.
