Administrators Lucas Posted February 25, 2009 Administrators Share Posted February 25, 2009 Can someone tell me what FM patches in general require a new game for bug fixes to take effect? I really can't make my mind up whether to start up a game and patch FM or just wait. I'm trying to be patient I really am, but if I could have this Q answered it would probably help me decide? nikandros33
Just wait some days to start a new game..
Administrators Lucas Posted February 26, 2009 Author Administrators Share Posted February 26, 2009 I probably will but I am anxious, like many of us. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a saved game/new game when patching FM? - Is what I'm really wondering. Might be good for a bit of reference... NeJebi
yeah that's an excellent question, I'm always dubious about starting a new game or not...hate it when it says you don't require to start a new game but for best effects...yeah great
ILuvManUforeva
I think the patch will fix most bugs within an existing saved game, but won't necessarily fix all of them, and of course there will be no data update within it, hence why they say the patch is saved game compatible, but a new game yields the best benefits of it. Neji
The benefit of starting a new game with the patch is that you get the data update. The majority of bug fixes will work fine in a save game, I've never seen any disadvantage to carrying on a save in a newly patched game.

Its that word though 'Majority' which puts doubt into peoples heads. I will probably carry on with my save though.
