Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Alkmaar So I decided to managed AZ due to them having some great talents who I have seen go for massive sums on other saves I have had. Alkmaar Zaanstreek ([ˈɑlkmaːr ˈzaːnstreːk]), better known as AZ Alkmaar or simply AZ (Dutch pronunciation: [aːˈzɛt]), is a Dutch professional football club from Alkmaar and the Zaanstreek. The club plays in the Eredivisie, the highest professional football league in the Netherlands, and hosts home matches at the AFAS Stadion. AZ has won the Eredivisie twice, in 1980–81 and 2008–09. In the same season as their first league title, they also reached the UEFA Cup Final, which they lost to Ipswich Town. In addition, the team has won the KNVB Cup on four occasions. The reason why people should pick to play as AZ is they play in a league that is all about developing young players and AZ have been doing that very well lately with some great young players in their current squad. Here is a few of them. Myron Boadu Teun Koopmeiners Jaspar Schendelaar Hakon Evjen Calvin Stengs Oscar Wijndal Fredrik Midtsjo I will update in here how I get on. Here is my manager profile. I took a photo of old school Ruud Gullit but I couldn't dreadlocks so just picked a Mohician hairstyle. Dirk Proper - 17 year old Dutch midfielder signed from NEC for £2m - Another player with unlimited potential. Mathias Ross - 18 year Danish central defender signed from AaB for £1.5m. Birger Meling - 24 year old Norwegian left back - Most people know of him. He will be my back up to Owen Wijndal Sofian Augarreau - 18 year French midfielder - Another highly rated prospect
Ronaldo Beckham
I am doing well so far this season. After 9 league games played I am currently 2nd but 5 points behind Ajax so going to be tough to catch up with them. League Results So Far Europa League Results So Far Player Progress Myron Boadu 10 goals from 17 games so far. Leading the frontline nicely. He is also progressing well with improvements in his attributes. Fredrik Midtsjo Midtsjo has the best average rating so far and is a hard worker. He is also improving in training. Calvin Stengs Calvin is neck and neck with Jonas Svensson for the most assists so far with 6 assists. He is linking up very well with Boadu. Jonas Svensson The very versatile Svensson is my main right back this year but can also play as a DM or MC. He is up with Stengs for the assists also with 6. Teun Koopmeiners What can I say about Teun other then he is truly amazing. He plays just in front of the defense but he bangs the goals in as well with 7 goals so far. I can't see him staying here long but I have got him to sign a new contract for now.
Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Season 1 Review I ended the season in 3rd place losing out to a Champions League place by 1 point to FC Utecht which was frustrating. Myron Boadu was top scorer with 26 goals in 48 games. My best overall player was Teun Koopmeiners with 17 goals which is remarkable considering he played most of the season as a DM just in front of the defense or playing in centre of defense. Calvin Stengs had a great season with 17 goals and 16 assists. I will be leaving this save for now as I fancy a go with Coventry or Wycombe in the Championship but I will come back to this save at some point and post how I get on. Dong21
@Ronaldo Beckham Quite surprising to see PSV finish all the way down in 7th! Interesting club AZ, they employ a ‘Moneyball’ approach as Billy Beane is an advisor. A couple of years ago I took the train to Alkmaar, when visiting Amsterdam, and watched AZ beat NAC. I recall they played good football and have a nice stadium. Edited August 25, 2020 by Dong21

Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Transfers Season 2 Transfers Out Main transfers out were forced out my hands cos ore release clauses with Calvin Stengs going to Arsenal for £50m and Teun Koopmeiners going to Man Utd for £60m and Jonas Svensson for £11m to Southam I did manage to keep Teun Koopmeiners on loan for the season as part of the deal. I also sold Albert Gudmondsson for £11.75m, Thomas Ouwejan went for £8.75m, Yukinari Sugawara went for £8.5m Ondraj Mihalik went for £6.25m and Panterlis Hatzidakios went for £5m. I made £165m from player sales in total and only spent £43m on players bought in. Transfers In Bruno Mendez - Uruguay international centre back and only 20 years old with 3 and half star potential. Signed from Corininthans for £7.5m Jeremie Frimpong - Future Dutch internatonal Right Back I bought from Celtic for £7.5m Elayis Tavsan - Signed him last season but he could only join the squad in the summer. A very good potential midfielder who can play on the wing or anywhere in midfield. Only 19 year old Dutch player. I got high hopes for this guy. Signed from Sparta for £7.5m. Sam Lemmers - My DOF signed this striker for £5.5m from PSV. I forgot about my no signing players from Ajax, PSV, Feynoord policy so will sell him eventually. Enzo Millot - A lovely French winger who is only 20 years old. Signed from Monaco for £5m. Hoping to fill the void of Calvin Stengs. Philippe Sandler - Dutch player my DOF signed. I have never heard of him but he seems like a good signing. A Dutch centre back signed from Man City for £4m. Sekou Koita A very good striker signed for £3.1m from RB Salzburg. An excellent signing, he has 15 in Dribbling, Finishing, First Touch, Decisions, Acceleration and Agility and has plenty of time to improve. I got a feeling he will go for big money in the future. Mikkel Moller Lassen A highly regarded young prospect from Denmark. A Right Back but can also play on the left and even a Centre Back. Only 19 years old with 4 star potential. Signed from AGF for £2.3m. I am really excited about some of these players especially Koita and Millot. I am looking forward to 2nd season now. Ronaldo Beckham
I forgot to say yesterday that I loaned in Diog Dalot, Ludovit Reis and Ryan Gravenberch. I got a fairly decent Europa League group with Basel, Everton and Strum Graz. I should qualify from this group. I have been on an impressive unbeaten run all through August. Hopefully September will be the same. Myron Boadu is playing really well with 7 goals in 7 games so far. He has said he wants to move to a bigger club so he will probably be the next one out but hoping to keep him for this season at least. Ronaldo Beckham
Well Ajax my rivals just come up with this massive offer for Fredrik Midtsjo who is a first team player but is 27 years old and I could easily replace him with a few players already in my squad. I got 2 players lined up to replace him. Tomislav Duvnjak - 17 year old Croatian midfielder from Dynamo Zagreb. He will cost me £2m. Jakub Piotrowski - 22 year old Polish midfielder and will cost me £5m.
Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Season 2 Review I was so close to winning the title. I only lost by 2 points to Ajax who at one point were 12 points clear of me. I am determined to keep going till I win the title. Losing to Hercules in last away fixture of the league season messed up my chance title chances. I nearly got through to the Europa League Final but lost to Lazio on aggregate in the Semis. Overall a very good season. I am gutted that Teun Koopmeiners is going back to Man Utd next season. I tried to get him on loan again but Man Utd rejected it. He will be sorely missed. Myron Boadu had another awesome season mostly playing on the wings. He was my top scorer with 22 goals. Sam Lammers played nicely upfront in a False 9 role. He banged in 19 goals and got 8 assists. A great first season with AZ. Another great player for me was Zakaria Aboukhlal who scored 18 goals and got 7 assists. My finances are awesome at the moment with £130m in the bank. Cos of my lovely bank balance the board have given me £35m to spend to try close the gap on Ajax. Edited September 1, 2020 by Ronaldo Beckham
Ronaldo Beckham
I managed to qualify to the group stage of the Champions League after beating Club Bruge in the 2 leg 3rd qualifying round and then beating Dynamo Kiev in the Best Placed qualify round. How do they reward me. Well they give me a group of death with Liverpool, Inter Milan and Werder Bremen.
Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Season 3 Transfers Transfers Out The 2 big transfers out were against my will as I didn't want to lose them but they had release clauses and they wouldn't sign new contracts during the season so both Wijndal & Boadu went for £55m each. Good fees for both players but I would rather have kept them both as same with Teun Koopmeiners they were just too good for the club. I am happy with accepting I am a selling club and I will thrive in that environment. Other transfers out were Ousamma Idrissi who was a good player when called up but wanted more regular football so I sold him to Angers for £8.5m and I wish him well. The other major player to go was Birger Meling who I sold to Brighton for £6m. He was another player who wanted first team footy and I couldn't give it him even with the sale of Wijndal. Transfers In Greg Taylor - £20m from Celtic. A direct replacement for Wijndal. I am hoping he does well as I never would usually spend that much money on a player. Benoit Badiashile - £15m from Monaco. I was surprised I got him so cheaply. I am hoping he becomes my best centre back and be at the club for a long time. Ludovit Reis - I managed to get this player who I had on loan for a nice fee of £10m but Barca insisted on a buy back clause of £30m. Riechedly Bazoer - My DOF signed the former Ajax player from Vitesse for £8.5m. I think he will fill the hole that Koopmeiners left and play just in front of the defense. He can play in a few positons so his versality will help him get games. Michal Sadilek - I went against my transfer policy of not signing players from the 3 big Dutch clubs but Sadilek is an awesome player and was worth breaking the policy for. I signed him from PSV for a bargain fee of £8m. Another player known for his versality. He can play in centre of midfield, just behind the defense or just behind the striker and also as a left back or left wing. Benjamin Rollheiser - I fancied some South American flavour up front so I signed this striker from River Plate for £7.5m. He can also play on the wing. He has good Crossing, Heading and Agility attributes. Noah Okafor - I know this player well from my Lyon save on FM2019 and this is the first time I have signed him on FM2020. I am hoping he replicates the same form he had for my Lyon team but we will see. I signed him from RB Salzburg for £7.5m. Gustavo Ferrao - A regen Brazilian DM I signed for £5m from Cruizero. Amad Traore - A nice, flashy winger I signed for £5m from Napoli. I have sent him on loan to FC Utecht for the season to see how he does. He is only 19 and needs game time. Patrik Schick - I needed an experience but still youngish striker and Schick was transfer listed so I signed him for £3.1m from Roma. He still has lots of potential and I am hoping to get the best out of him. I can't do a screenshot as I have reached the limit on here.

Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Season 2 Jaunuary Transfer Window Transfers Out Sam Lemmers who was my main striker got sold in January after getting ousted out of the forward line by Benjamin Rollheiser. I sold him to West Brom for £7.5m, I made small profit on him. I sold Richard Ofori to Ajax for £2.5m due to him wanting more first team opportunities. Not a bad return on a player I signed on a free last season. Jakub Piotrowski - I signed this guy to replace Teun Koppmeiners but he just couldn't cut it so I sold him for £5.25m. Rody de Boer - Sold him to Auxure for £1.3m as I signed a much better GK. Transfers In I wanted to bring in some real quality players to give me the best chance of Domestic and Euro glory so I spent a lot of money in January. Maarten Vandevoordt - Signed this guy as he an awesome talent and potentially could become one of the best goalies in the world. I signed him for £22.5m from KRC Genk and will be my main GK moving forward. Karamoko Dembele - £12m signing from Celtic - I have known about Dembele for a few years now and felt like he fit the squad I want to build. He is only 18 and has lots of poential. Xavi Simons - A Dutch player first which is important as I am trying to get a decent backbone of young Dutch players who grow as a team over the years. I signed him from PSG for £15m. Nicolas Capaldo - My DOF signed this guy and I am glad he did. He seems like a right workhorse and a bargain as I only paid £6.75m for him and he has settled in well already. Martin De Roon - This was a player out of my usual transfer policy of buying young players but I felt like I needed some experience and he was Dutch as well so I signed him. A nice sturdy centre back who could be a good mentor for the young players as he a Fairly Determinined personality. He cost me £10.5m from Atalanta. Finally the Crown Jewell of all of them is Rhian Brewster who I signed for a bargain fee of £17.5m from Liverpool and he repaid my faith by scoring 2 goals in his first game. Ronaldo Beckham
AZ Mid Season Update I am currently in the middle of February and neck and neck on points with Ajax. I was top for a bit but Ajax have come back strong. Its going to be an entertaining battle. I managed to qualify to the 2nd round of the Champions League with a good showing in the group stage. With wins over Liverpool and Inter Milan and back to back wins over Werder Bremen. I now have PSG in the 2nd round which will be a tough game but I have already exceeded expectations so I am happy with whatever happens next. Top performer so far has been Zakaria Aboukhlal who despite not having the best attributes he seems to exceed expectations and has scored 16 goals so far, 9 of them being penalties. Ronaldo Beckham
Look at this for neck and neck title race between me and Ajax. And look who I got last game of the season. Only bloody Ajax lol. The European dream continues as I beat PSG 3-2 on agg after losing 2-1 in the home leg I didn't fancy my chances in the away leg but fair play to the lads they stepped up their game and I beat PSG 2-0 in the away game thanks to goals from Hakon Evjen and Benjamin Rollheiser. Ronaldo Beckham
Ajax ballsed up and lost to Almere City. I am now 3 points clear. I can sniff that title victory. My Champions League journey is over for this season after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Lazio but I am chuffed how far my young team got to. I do think I can win the Champions League with AZ at some point in my career with them. Edited September 3, 2020 by Ronaldo Beckham
