You should surely be able to see on your squad screen what is going on with those positions? In mine (and I just looked) it's players in those positions who are on Intl. duty, injured or suspended. That shouldn't be possible. It doesn't have to be the same player in that position, just whoever you do have selected there, is unavailable. Look at this: There you can see, for example, that I have different players listed at ST (one being the best XI and the other who I actually have selected) but because the striker in my current selection is unavailable, it's a faded shirt.
