Noooooooooo

Having seen the fan backlash, and had time to think about it overnight, despite being offered the Arsenal job, I'm going to keep my word, and Argyle will be my last job on this save. I've turned the job down, and remain at Home Park.

Six players were released at the end of their contracts, but only Josh Grant was in the first team squad

We made a solid start to life in the Premier League

447965604_Aug2030.thumb.PNG.99efa7db0ae767adad289f459eb04576.PNG

The only disappointment being a deserved away defeat at Sheffield United, which we balanced out by grinding out a 1-0 win over Man City. No arguments about the defeat though

2119533415_SUvPly2030.thumb.PNG.6b9684db9398b465eb015755ee0413be.PNG

and that leaves us in mid table. The question now is can we stay there?

We lost every game in September, each by a single goal except the Man Utd game

The winless run continued through October

1500784851_Oct2030.thumb.PNG.310075d5c7e55a60a7704af4b75077b9.PNG

and we were a bit unlucky not to get anything at West Ham

1485001080_WHvPly2030.thumb.PNG.4f5e48b4ba3d65007825a01f7887ca3d.PNG

a late goal cost us what would have been a deserved three points against Newcastle

Like a boat taking on water, it's not going to be long before we slip beneath the survival line. We need to start winning games, and we need to do it quickly.

December was even better, but depending on your point of view, we either ended the month winless in three, or on a two game unbeaten run.

1752083836_Dec2030.thumb.PNG.3bd745b5ad2294c1c41e31fa3c670e99.PNG

and that leaves us 12th, 8 points clear of the drop, with 18 games to go. Survival is by no means assured, but we have our destiny in our own hands. Keeping Argyle up would be a pretty special way to end this save

I was expecting a maximum of three points in February. We did rather better than that

2078001381_Feb2031.thumb.PNG.8fc288d6565bb506f740d2cb0fd71c9c.PNG

and really should have beaten Chelsea too, as we let a 2-0 lead slip

514314854_PlyvChe2031.thumb.PNG.c2bda1f0f4708769a28cd47cf58f2a89.PNG

but that leaves us 11th in the table, 14 points above the bottom three, with 11 games to go. Edging closer to survival

Unbeaten in March, but we drew all three league games

1302439780_Mar2031.thumb.PNG.20a529d3fcdf95b97fed46af2b63519c.PNG

The draw with Brighton in the league was fair enough as it was a very even game, as was the Fulham game, but we really should have beaten Crystal Palace, only conceding an equaliser in stoppage time

1416482517_CPvPly2031.thumb.PNG.f96abfd8d9a8445dc53b26c8e14e491e.PNG

which left us 11th with 38 points. One more win will take us over the 40 points and certain safety

Not a bad month at all in April, with only one defeat. The only disappointment was a deserved draw with Derby

441609939_Apr2031.thumb.PNG.7fa5c53c4e2855f2d92e281a8ea91900.PNG

We end the month 9th, guaranteed Premier League football for next season, and through to Argyle's first ever FA Cup Final, after winning in only our second ever FA Cup Semi. My last game in charge will therefore be the FA Cup Final

Jamie Mark Sheehan[2]  born 1979), known as Jamie Sheehan,is an English football manager, who currently manages Premier League outfit Plymouth Argyle. Sheehan revealed at his unveiling press conference that he is a Plymouth Argyle supporter, and said it was an honour to manage his boyhood club.

Early life and career[edit]

Jamie Sheehan was born in Truro,[8] and played as a professional footballer, obtaining his UEFA Pro Licence before joining Plymouth Argyle

Managerial career[edit]

Plymouth Argyle

At the start of the 2019/20 season, Sheehan was appointed as manager of Plymouth Argyle, to replace the outgoing Ryan Lowe. He won promotion from League 2 as runners-up in his first season, won League 1 in 2022, and was promoted in the SkyBet Championship playoffs in 2023, taking Plymouth Argyle to the Premier League for the first time ever for the 2023/24 season. Sheehan left in January 2024 to join Premier League rivals Everton.

Everton

Sheehan led Everton to the Premier League title in 2025/26, their first in 40 years. He left in July 2027 to take up the England job

England

He was in charge of England for almost exactly a year, taking charge of 17 matches. 15 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat were not enough to prevent him being sacked after a semi final exit to Portugal at Euro 2028.

Manchester City

After 10 months out of work, Sheehan joined Manchester City. He led them to the top of the Premier League, before resigning in November 2029 after just 4 months in the job. The reason would become clear, as exactly 2 weeks later, on 1st December 2029, he rejoined Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth Argyle

Sheehan rejoined Argyle almost 6 years after leaving, and led them back to the Premier League at his first attempt. His second season saw them finish in 9th in the Premier League, their highest ever position, and reaching a first ever FA Cup Final, where they lost to Liverpool. Sheehan retired at the end of the season.
