Northernpilgrim
Not a bad set of preseason results to prepare for our Premier League return
Northernpilgrim
Six players were released at the end of their contracts, but only Josh Grant was in the first team squad Five players signed, and three more moved on Norley is a versatile defender who can play right back or centre back equally well Christ is a centre back Carroll is a defensive midfielder and he will fight Wilshere for a starting spot and Kohout is a first choice striker who offers real quality Which leaves our squad looking like this ahead of the season opener

Northernpilgrim
We made a solid start to life in the Premier League The only disappointment being a deserved away defeat at Sheffield United, which we balanced out by grinding out a 1-0 win over Man City. No arguments about the defeat though and that leaves us in mid table. The question now is can we stay there?
Northernpilgrim
We lost every game in September, each by a single goal except the Man Utd game We were beaten late by Burnley, when I thought we'd done enough for a hard-won point Conceded a late winner in the cup against Man City, just as it looked like going to extra time and managed to turn three points into none by conceding after 89 and 92 minutes against my old club Everton which left us only 2 points clear of the bottom three
Northernpilgrim
The winless run continued through October and we were a bit unlucky not to get anything at West Ham a late goal cost us what would have been a deserved three points against Newcastle Like a boat taking on water, it's not going to be long before we slip beneath the survival line. We need to start winning games, and we need to do it quickly.
Northernpilgrim
A better November, as we ended our winless run and that three game unbeaten run (four including the Newcastle game in October), was enough to lift us out of the bottom three Edited September 20, 2020 by Northernpilgrim
Northernpilgrim
December was even better, but depending on your point of view, we either ended the month winless in three, or on a two game unbeaten run. and that leaves us 12th, 8 points clear of the drop, with 18 games to go. Survival is by no means assured, but we have our destiny in our own hands. Keeping Argyle up would be a pretty special way to end this save
Bitner
Great december, nonetheless. Cheers, Bitner
Northernpilgrim
We lost the opening game of January, but then went 5 games unbeaten, winning four We ended the month in the top half, 12 points clear of the bottom three. We're still not safe, but we probably need 2 or 3 wins from 14 games

Northernpilgrim
I was expecting a maximum of three points in February. We did rather better than that and really should have beaten Chelsea too, as we let a 2-0 lead slip but that leaves us 11th in the table, 14 points above the bottom three, with 11 games to go. Edging closer to survival
karanhsingh
Very good going, a solid mid-table finish should be secured.
Northernpilgrim
Unbeaten in March, but we drew all three league games The draw with Brighton in the league was fair enough as it was a very even game, as was the Fulham game, but we really should have beaten Crystal Palace, only conceding an equaliser in stoppage time which left us 11th with 38 points. One more win will take us over the 40 points and certain safety
Northernpilgrim
Not a bad month at all in April, with only one defeat. The only disappointment was a deserved draw with Derby We end the month 9th, guaranteed Premier League football for next season, and through to Argyle's first ever FA Cup Final, after winning in only our second ever FA Cup Semi. My last game in charge will therefore be the FA Cup Final Edited September 23, 2020 by Northernpilgrim
Northernpilgrim
May wasn't a great way to end the league season but we should have beaten Burnley, after taking a 2-0 lead meaning we end the season 9th
