Good luck with England

Thanks Deisler. They won the Euros in 2020, and the World Cup in 2026, so I'm hopeful I can win at least one of those over the next four years and I'll then be looking towards the final chapter of the save, and a return to Argyle. I think that's where this save should go, so let's make it happen :)

October brought two more emphatic qualifying wins. We had 11 different scorers in the Liechtenstein win

leaving us 5 points clear, with two games left. A trip to Norway next, then Moldova at home. A draw in Norway will be enough to qualify, but we really want to finish with a perfect 8 wins from 8.

It was an unexpectedly busy transfer window, with four players arriving, and no less than 10 leaving

Maucec is a striker, and will be first choice

but I'm hoping Ryan Cassidy will push him hard

I signed Hurley to replace Molyneux as a better backup goalkeeper

but then Crystal Palace triggered first choice keeper Mike Parker's release clause, so I signed Calderon as well. End result is two great goalkeepers who will fight for the shirt

A steady, rather than spectacular, March

and whilst the defeat to Bristol City came from a poor performance, we should have beaten Sheffield Wednesday

and Sunderland

If we had beaten either of them, we'd have been in the top 6 now. As it is, we are outside them only on goal difference

We lost our last game of the league season by the narrowest of margins

guaranteeing Watford the title, and confirming we would finish 6th. Not a bad run in considering we faced three of the top four in the last 5 games. The bad news is that we'll face third placed West Brom in the semi final, a place at Wembley and either Aston Villa or Norwich awaiting the winners

At two goals down in the first leg at Home Park, I feared the worst, but we fought back to claim a 2-2 draw, which at least gave us hope that we could still do it

The first half at The Hawthorns was goalless, but in the second half, we took the lead. We couldn't hold it, but we did hold on for the draw, and with no further goals in extra time, it went to penalties
