They won the Euros in 2020, and the World Cup in 2026, so I'm hopeful I can win at least one of those over the next four years and I'll then be looking towards the final chapter of the save, and a return to Argyle. I think that's where this save should go, so let's make it happen
Northernpilgrim
On the subject of Argyle, despite losing manager Dani Parejo during the season, they won League 1 to secure an immediate return to the Championship
Northernpilgrim
My England reign began with two Euros qualifiers in September, England having begun their campaign with two wins from two before my arrival Making it four from four sees us top of the table, two points clear, with a game in hand
Northernpilgrim
October brought two more emphatic qualifying wins. We had 11 different scorers in the Liechtenstein win leaving us 5 points clear, with two games left. A trip to Norway next, then Moldova at home. A draw in Norway will be enough to qualify, but we really want to finish with a perfect 8 wins from 8.
Northernpilgrim
We finished by beating both Norway and Moldova to end qualifying with 8 wins from 8, no goals conceded, and a frankly ridiculous 62 goals scored
Northernpilgrim
Two friendlies in March. A routine win at Wembley against Costa Rica, and a decent draw in Holland

Northernpilgrim
Three wins from three pre-tournament friendlies, but Poland gave us a hell of a scare. We need to up our game against Austria in our opening group game next week

Northernpilgrim
We won our final group game against Greece too, but it remains to be seen how costly Raheem Sterling's red card will prove to be and that obviously sees us through as group winners, joined by Austria
Northernpilgrim
Our second round opponents were Scotland, with Belgium awaiting the winners. It was never in doubt

Northernpilgrim
We lost the Community Shield, but responded by winning our three Premier League games in August taking us to the top of the table. It's already looking like a battle with Liverpool for the title
Northernpilgrim
A steady September, but we failed to beat either Merseyside club and whilst we were awful and deserved to lose to Liverpool, we should have beaten Everton That left us second in the league, two points off Liverpool and top of our Europa League group
Northernpilgrim
Almost the perfect October, as we won every game, conceding only 1 goal leaving us top of the Premier League and top of our Europa League group too
Northernpilgrim
And in November, it's available. Applied. Northernpilgrim
I got the job I'm back and I arrive to find us 13th in the Championship With the squad looking like this, my immediate priority in the January window will be to remove a couple of fringe players and add some strikers to the squad. Northernpilgrim
December's results were not great, but we did pick up a couple of wins and that leaves us still in the bottom half
Northernpilgrim
Nearly the perfect January. The only game we didn't win was in the FA Cup, against Premier League Newcastle and we're into the top half, with a sniff of a chance of making the playoffs
Northernpilgrim
It was an unexpectedly busy transfer window, with four players arriving, and no less than 10 leaving Maucec is a striker, and will be first choice but I'm hoping Ryan Cassidy will push him hard I signed Hurley to replace Molyneux as a better backup goalkeeper but then Crystal Palace triggered first choice keeper Mike Parker's release clause, so I signed Calderon as well. End result is two great goalkeepers who will fight for the shirt
Northernpilgrim
Not a bad February, and we didn't deserve any more than we got in the two games we didn't win and we are now just two points off a playoff place, and in 9th place Edited September 15, 2020 by Northernpilgrim
Northernpilgrim
A steady, rather than spectacular, March and whilst the defeat to Bristol City came from a poor performance, we should have beaten Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland If we had beaten either of them, we'd have been in the top 6 now. As it is, we are outside them only on goal difference
Northernpilgrim
April was one match from perfection and that means we go into the final match of the season with a playoff place already guaranteed
Northernpilgrim
We lost our last game of the league season by the narrowest of margins guaranteeing Watford the title, and confirming we would finish 6th. Not a bad run in considering we faced three of the top four in the last 5 games. The bad news is that we'll face third placed West Brom in the semi final, a place at Wembley and either Aston Villa or Norwich awaiting the winners
Northernpilgrim
At two goals down in the first leg at Home Park, I feared the worst, but we fought back to claim a 2-2 draw, which at least gave us hope that we could still do it The first half at The Hawthorns was goalless, but in the second half, we took the lead. We couldn't hold it, but we did hold on for the draw, and with no further goals in extra time, it went to penalties WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY!!
Northernpilgrim
We did it, helped by a red card for Aston Villa in the second half. WE'RE BACK IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!
