Chelsea, one of the 'largest' football clubs in the world, not only because of it's success, but because of the over 100 players they have...

The idea is that I have to keep Chelsea great using only British talent: Players that come from England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. I am keeping my 'eyes closed' to any country that is not part of the UK.

It's not a super original idea but I've never tried anything like this before.

This isn't a youth challenge, I can buy British players all I want, but no individual of any other nationality can be bought by CFC while I'm manager.

As for the non-British players already at Chelsea, I can keep them, until they retire (if I keep them for that long), but I think it will eventually be sorted out: Real Madrid will offer lots of money for Hazard, Higuain's loan will end, etc., and within a few years there won't be any more non-British players.

No real shock in the title odds, really.

Spoiler

I'm going to add my career summary here as soon as there is something to summarize.

Uggg...It's going to be difficult for me to sign any players the first transfer winder, because we have a transfer budget of only $22M, comparable to Leicester City...

However, I did get Danny Loader, a young prospect from Reading.

Some good signs during the preseason, considering we were effectively playing our B Squad.

Very good result here, without Hazard managing to win some silverware. As you can see I have literally no British players in my starting XI other than Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley.

August

Good string of results in August although I'm disappointed with that draw against Everton. Additionally, Higuain has been playing poorly (just like real life).

We're in third now, at this early stage.

We also got a fairly easy group in the Europa Lague, although Celtic are always difficult

One hell of a September, although we still haven't played a great team. We had a late winner against Crystal Palace (although we deserved it), and we almost bottled a 3-0 lead over Southampton. Cluj, Burnley, and Leicester were easy games. Our first tests are in October, with two London Derbies in a row against Spurs and Arsenal.

Unfortunately, Liverpool have kept pace and we stay in second.

I pissed off Pochettino somehow, I basically just said, 'Chelsea are better than Tottenham' and he just blew up. But we beat them anyways.

852 minutes without conceding for Kepa. This was brought to an end in our abysmal game against Everton. Both Jorginho and Kovacic were injured so I had to play Danny Drinkwater, who predictably got a 6.1 rating. Higuain got injured during the game. Willian and Barkley missed some good chances, so I subbed Bakley for Pedro, who missed more good chances. It was bad. Luckily it was the Carabao Cup which no one cares about.

Our worst performer vs Celtic

We eventually got up to 9 games without conceding.

So what happens if a foreigner obtains a British passport?

I can buy them if the game has their nationality as British. So I suppose if a foreigner changed their nationality, I could buy them.

However it should be noted that once you're capped competitively by your NT, you can't switch nationalities. Since I'm managing Chelsea, I think any player that's not British that's good enough to play for me will have already been tied down by their national team, before they can switch to England.

A fairly good November. At the beginning of the month, Kovacic, Jorginho, Higuain, and Hazard were injured, so the 0-0 draw to Newcastle, while dissapointing, was not shocking. Our victory against Celtic was good as Kovacic and Jorginho were fit, but we lacked something in the final third without Higuain and Hazard.

Hazard was fit again vs. Manchester City and we held on to a 0-0 draw even though we were outclassed. At full strength, the rest of the month was fairly straightfoward.

Very close at the top of the table, but we're in fourth because of the draws this month.

Sorry about that photo but I can't make it bigger.

We've already qualified, in first place, from our Europa League group.

Really fun match against Liverpool, even though we lost. The month was going smoothly until our draw against Cardiff. Our form faltered then, although even in the Bournemouth and Manchester United games, we had more shots and better possession.

We're in fourth now but if we recover our form I'm still optimistic about this season.

A player can still gain dual nationality even if they have been capped by their nation of birth.
