It's time to calculate the air miles for the season.
We won 48 games this season
The equation is as follows:-
3 x 5.61 x 2 x 1 = 33.67 air miles per win = 1,616.09 air miles for the season. Added to the 4018.79 air miles we already have, means we now have 5,634.88 air miles range.
As we can see a good section of Europe is now unlocked, including Scandanavia, East Germany, most of Turkey, Poland and even a tiny portion of Scotland.
A more detailed look at the our range.
I think we will be adding the Turkish and German leagues at this time and see whether there is a good avenue for us there.
Leagues that are now to be loaded.
The season is almost upon us again and we get Consadole Sapporo, Vegalta Sendai and Yokohama F Marinos in the group stage.
The Super Cup will pit us against Urawa Red Diamonds.
We are predicted to finish 3rd, very tight odds at the top between the usual three.
Preseason is over and generally it was pretty good. Quite a few players were away at the AFC Asian Cup, but did get absolutely battered by Guangzhou Evergrande which was a bit worrying.
The Champions League group has been drawn and we face Melbourne City of Australia, Shanghai SIPG of China and Southern District of Hong Kong.
The DoF brings in Ren Nishizawa for £1.5m from Yokohama F Marinos, he looks a very good asset for the club.
The first piece of silverware is in the bag for the season as we put Urawa Red Diamonds to the sword.
We have had a very nice start to season as we beat Albirex in our J-League season opener and then take Melbourne apart in our first Champions League game.
Familiar faces at the top of the league after one game.
We reach 900 games in management.
The DoF brings in Takeshi Tanaka from Vissel Kobe for £145k. Pretty average player I would say but might have a bit part role in the squad.
We buy Yuya Furukawa from Omiya Ardija for £1.4m. He is a decent winger and I think he will have a decent impact on the team.
We sign Daichi Iwami for Kashima Antlers for £4.7m. He looks like he may be able to disrupt what is already a very strong strikeforce. I guess you can always use a little more firepower up front.
Another very big signing as we bring in Tomoyuki Yamshita from Kawasaki Frontale for £2.7m. He is on big money, but really is a very good central midfielder. We are looking like we have very good depth in midfield.
A perfect month for us as we beat everyone in sight.
All the top teams have started perfectly, looking tough.
Champions League group is looking very much in our hands.
Nabisco Cup group is also firmly in our hands at the mid way point.
We continue our incredible form, winning every game again this month.
A small gap is opening up as we get 2 points ahead in the league. Urawa Red Diamonds now sit 4 points behind. We have some games in hand, so it's looking good.
We draw Kawasaki Frontale in the Quarter Final of the Nabisco Cup.
We are facing Pohang Steelers from South Korea in the Second Round of the Champions League.
Very tough draw in the Tennohai First Round in Urawa Red Diamonds.
We were devastating in South Korea as we smashed Pohang 6-1 in the Second Round of the Champions League, one step in the next round.
We are in devastating form as we string together a third month of straight wins as we sweep all aside.
We are opening up what looks like a rather unassailable lead in the league now.
The game was over before the players walked out on to the pitch, but we win anyway 2-1 to win 8-2 on aggregate. and move the the next round of the Champions League.
We knock out Urawa out of the 1st Round of the Tennohai after a 3-0 win.
We face Nara Club in the Second Round of the Tennohai.
A much more difficult month as we lost our first game and started dropping some points.
Well it's much closer in the league, Kawasaki Frontale the nearest challengers 5 points behind.
The Quarter Final will put us against Guangzhou Evergrande.
Well we finally get our move to Europe, as we take the job at Wolfsburg.
A pretty bare trophy cabinet at the club.
The move to Wolfsburg, Germany from Japan costs us 5,614.14 miles, however we also added 999.95 miles for the portion of the season leaving us with 1,020.67 air miles after the move.
New range for the club, so we will be changing our leagues loaded.
For now the league changes are above. Turkey, Japan and Russia leave and we add Italy, England and Spain.
We finally get in an assistant manager to assess the squad and I must say I am pretty happy with the general quality of the side. I think we can be competitive this season.
We loan in Dortmund's Polish striker Lukasz Piekarski. Hopefully he will prove useful in the coming season. Still trying to figure out my side so unsure if he will be a starter or not.
The DoF snaps youngster Damian Antoniak from Kaiserslautern for £215k. Obviously he will be playing youth football for quite some time, but he looks to have good potential.
Didn't really want to sell Dennis Belger, but he was complaining that he had achieved everything he wanted to at the club and was wanting a move. In the we move him on to Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia for £8m.
B Team Milos Vukasinovic, leaves to join Ingolstadt for £1.5m.
Another exit in Markus Bache, who leave to join Turkish side Konyaspor for £750k.
Well a funny set of events. The DoF sees fit to bring in old Central Coast Mariners and Fijian face Peter Segran on a season long loan from Bayer Leverkusen. Not sure he is necessarily first choice, but great to see an old player in the team and also a Fijian, where we first started this journey.
The odds are out for the season and we are expected to get a 6th place finish this season.
Preseason is over and all in all we have done a gone job as we win 5 and draw one to Napoli. Pretty happy with team and I think we can finish in the top six or so this season.
Our first competitive game as Wolfsburg is a memorable one as we dispatch Eichstatt in the DFB Pokal 1st Round by 10-1.
We will face VfL Bochum in the 2nd Round of the cup.
Germany are ranked 10th in the world which means that we will get a 639% modifier to our air miles.
First month of the season complete and I will take it, it was always going to be tough to get one over on Dortmund and we gave a pretty good account of ourselves, and then against Eintracht Frankfurt we turned on a bit of style and came through 5-1 winners, so at least some element of the system the players are beginning to understand, I am sure we will continue to improve.
Early days in the league, but at the moment Dortmund look like they might be the team to catch.
An excellent young English midfielder comes in on loan from Manchester City in Rory Taylor.
Well it has been a very good September for us as we become the form team in Germany. We probably rode our luck a bit against Schalke, but the rest of the fixtures were very comfortable for us. I knew we had a decent side, but I didn't expect us to be doing this well at this early stage.
We top the league by a point from Bayern Munich, with Dortmund and RB Leipzig just behind.
I normally only update at the end of the month....BUT JESUS!!! They got absolutely tanked.
Incredible month for us because of the first fixture. 7-1 against Bayern, that will take some beating. We were actually very good all month as took down Leipzig and got a very good draw away to Leverkusen, to continue our good form. We also got past VfL Bochum in the cup, to send us through to the Third Round of the DFB Pokal.
We have opened up a 4 point gap at the top of the league, can we somehow maintain this?
We will face RB Leipzig in the Third Round of the DFB Pokal.
Great read so far and very interesting concept with the Air Miles thing.
