CFuller - I'm sure IRL I would be without a job, but for some reason in the game they only seem to fire after tournaments

October 16th:
Chile (Wembley, London) Friendly
After the pathetic performance in the last game I told the players I wanted a lot more from them and in truth they did start better and on the 9th minute C.Wilson came close with a low effort which saw the Chilean keeper at full stretch to save. Ten minutes later the same player had another chance as he beat the offside trap but the Chilean keeper again saved the day. On the half hour Chile had their first chance of the game with a low daisy cutter which saw F.Forster at full stretch to save.
The second half was only three minutes old when we took the lead as D.Alli ran through the defence with ease and slotted in under the keeper. We were controlling the game and on the 64th minute we had another chance to score with H.Kane rising above the defence and heading a A.Lallana cross past the keeper but the upright saved the day. It was one way traffic and on the 86th minute we had the final chance of the game with a rasping effort from C.Wilson which clipped the outside of the upright.

England 1-0 Chile D.Alli 48

F.Forster, K.Walker, J.Tarkowski (H.Maguire), R.Holding (K.Trippier), R.Bertrand, A.Lallana (E.Dier), T.Carroll (J.Henderson), A.Surman (D.Alli), M.Rashford (S.Sinclair), H.Kane, C.Wilson

Booked: K.Walker

November 12th:
The squad have now met knowing that for us to stand a chance of qualifying for the next stage of the European International League we need to win both matches

November 15th:
The World Rankings have been released and we remain in 6th place with Brazil still top. The most improved nation is Rwanda who rose from 154th to 118th

Italy (Wembley, London) European International League Division A Grp 2 (3/4)
It was Italy who had the better of the game but it took them till the 23rd minute for the first chance as they beat the offside trap with real ease and fired under T.Heaton but the ball luckily for us went just wide of the post. Soon after they had another chance with a long range effort which had T.Heaton at full stretch to save. We weren't getting near the ball and on the stroke of half time they had another chance to score with another long range effort which was diverted wide of the post by C.Chambers.
The second half wasn't much better as Italy controlled the play and on the 59th minute T.Heaton saved the day again with a  brave save at the feet of the Italian attacker. Twelve minutes later we finally had our first chance as D.Welbeck barged into the area but his final effort was pretty dire and it went well wide of the post. With ten minutes remaining in the game Italy came close to winning the game with a well worked team move which split my defence apart but T.Heaton again saved the day. On the 85th minute the winner was scored as S.Sinclair whipped a curling cross into the area and H.Kane headed in to give us a very very undeserved victory. After the game I told my players how lucky they were and I was expecting more from the next game

England 1-0 Italy H.Kane 85

T.Heaton, K.Trippier, H.Maguire, C.Chambers, A.Cresswell, P.Roberts, D.Alli (A.Surman), E.Dier (T.Carroll), T.Ince (S.Sinclair), D.Welbeck, H.Kane

Now now Ben that was uncalled for ;) Comparing my managerial skills to that of a Liverpools

November 19th:
Iceland (Laugardalsvollur, Reykjavik) European International League Division A Grp 2 (4/4)
Iceland started the better and it wasn't long till T.Heaton was tested with a brilliant effort which saw him diving across the goal to save. On the 27th minute they had another chance as my defence seemed to fall asleep however T.Heaton again saved well. With three minutes remaining in the half we had our first chance as T.Ince provided a low cross into the area but D.Welbeck fluffed the effort over from four yards.
The second half saw my players coming out a lot better and on the hour we took the lead as A.Surman fired in with power from twenty yards. On the 63rd minute we made it two nil with H.Maguire heading in a P.Roberts corner after D.Welbeck's initial effort was tipped round the post. We were controlling the game with ease now and on the 72nd minute S.Sinclair killed the game off from the penalty spot after T.Carroll was brought down in the area. Iceland had no reply for us and just before the final whistle S.Sinclair failed to hit the target from close range after running onto a T.Carroll through-ball

Iceland 0-3 England A.Surman 60, H.Maguire 63, S.Sinclair 72 pen

T.Heaton, K.Trippier (A.Smith), H.Maguire, C.Chambers, A.Cresswell, P.Roberts, D.Alli, E.Dier (A.Surman), T.Ince (T.Carroll). D.Welbeck, S.Sinclair

Despite the result we have failed to qualify for the semi finals after finishing 2nd in the group. Italy went through as winners and Iceland were relegated

It didn't take too long till we scored again with T.Walcott grabbing his second goal on the 20th minute after a poor clearance by the Slovenian defence. We were in control of the game now and eight minutes later we made it three nil with T.Walcott completing his hat-trick with a powerful strike from out side the area.
The second half was all us again and ten minutes into the half H.Maguire made it 4-0 with a superb header from a D.Alli cross. June 11th:
The squad have met up and will return to their clubs in around a week. Hopefully we can beat both teams and that will put us in a good position to qualify

June 14th:
Latvia (Wembley, London) European Championship Qualifying Grp B (3/10)
Another good start saw us dominating from kick off and on the 19th minute we took the lead as M.Rashford ran through the defence and fired under the Latvian keeper. Eleven minutes later we added another goal with H.Maguire rising above the defence and heading a T.Walcott cross past the keeper. On the 38th minute we had yet another chance from the penalty spot after M.Rashford was brought down in the area, H.Kane stepped up for the penalty and fired towards goal but the keeper guessed right and saved the penalty. With four minutes remaining in the half I was forced into a change as M.Rashford was replaced by T.Deeney.
The second half was two minutes old when we added goal number three as T.Walcott jinked through the defence with ease and fired under the keeper. On the hour mark we came close to grabbing the next goal as D.Alli looped a ball into the area but T.Deeney failed to connect with the ball. Latvia weren't getting close to the ball and on the 78th minute R.Sterling had the chance to score as he beat the defence to a loose ball but his final effort was as poor as the defending and it went well wide of the post. Deep into injury time we added goal number four with T.Deeney doing the honours from close range after running onto a R.Sterling low cross.

England 4-0 Latvia M.Rashford 19, H.Maguire 30, T.Walcott 47, T.Deeney 90+2

J.Hart, A.Smith, J.Tarkowski (J.Stones), H.Maguire, A.Cresswell, T.Walcott (A.Lallana), D.Alli, E.Dier, R.Sterling, H.Kane, M.Rashford (inj 41-T.Deeney)

Other Group B Results:
San Marino 0-3 Ukraine, Slovenia 0-0 FYR Macedonia

Luckily for us the injury news on M.Rashford sees him only picking up a knock and will be available for the next match

June 17th:
Ukraine (NSC Olympiyskyi, Kyiv) European Championship Qualifying Grp B (4/10)
Ukraine should off us more of a problem than the first three games yet it was my side who had the first chance of the game with a low shot from H.Kane which beat the keeper but not the upright. On the 19th minute though Ukraine had their first chance with a curling effort which saw J.Hart at full stretch to save. Eleven minutes later they had another chance as they broke through my defence with ease and fired towards goal but J.Hart was on hand to block the shot. With five minutes remaining in the half we finally broke the deadlock as M.Rashford beat the offside trap and fired with power under the keeper.
The second half began with Ukraine rattling the upright after some woeful defending saw their attacker easily beating them. On the 61st minute we added goal number two as D.Alli hit a speculative effort from 25 yards which bounced in front of the keeper into the back of the net. Twelve minutes later Ukraine came close as they again beat my defence with ease but J.Hart was on hand to save the day. On the stroke of full time we  had the final chance as T.Deeney rose above the defence but his header went just over the crossbar.

Ukraine 0-2 England M.Rashford 40, D.Alli 61

J.Hart, A.Smith, J.Tarkowski (J.Stones), H.Maguire, A.Cresswell, T.Walcott, D.Alli, E.Dier (A.Lallana), R.Sterling, H.Kane, M.Rashford (T.Deeney)

Other Group B Results:
Latvia 0-2 Slovenia, Ukraine 0-2 England

With four wins out of four we sit top of the table three points clear of second placed Ukraine The goal difference isnt too bad either with fifteen goals scored and none against. Plus we have broken an England record as we have now gone seven games without conceding

We started well and on the 7th minute we had the chance to open the scoring as H.Kane ran through the defence and fired towards goal but the keeper saved well to deny him. Soon after he had another chance but failed to beat the keeper from close range. We were all over Slovenia and on the 26th minute T.Deeney had our next chance with a brave header which had the keeper at full stretch to save. However six minutes later we were caught out as Slovenia countered us and V.Birsa fired the home side into the lead. With three minutes remaining in the half we had another chance with E.Dier rattling the upright from 25 yards after running onto a loose ball.
The second half was again all us and on the 57th minute we had another chance to score with a great team move but M.Rashford failed to score from ten yards. Ten minutes later it was R.Sterlings turn to get close to scoring with a curling effort which beat the keeper but not the upright. With four minutes remaining in the game we had our final chance as J.Ward-Prowse heading over the crossbar when it was easier to score.

October 6th:
Injury news sees Harry Kane out injured, I have brought in Arsenal's Danny Welbeck as his replacement.

October 11th:
FYR Macedonia (Wembley, London) European Championship Qualifying Grp B (7/10)
It didn't take us long to get our first effort towards goal as on the 12th minute M.Rashford beat the offside trap and fired under the keeper but the ball went just wide of the post. Ten minutes later we had another chance with a curling effort from S.Sinclair which saw the Macedonian keeper at full stretch to save. With five minutes remaining in the half we finally broke the deadlock with a thunderous effort from S.Sinclair which gave the keeper no chance of saving.
The second half was much the same with some excellent play and on the hour mark we added goal number two with S.Berahino rounding the keeper and firing into the empty net. Macedonia just weren't getting close to the ball and on the 76th minute we grabbed our third goal with S.Berahino rising above the defence and heading a W.Hughes cross over the keeper and into the back of the net. With two minutes remaining in the game we had one last chance as E.Dier crossed into the area but M.Rashford failed to connect with the ball

England 3-0 FYR Macedonia S.Sinclair 40, S.Berahino 60, 76

Ben-I think I got alittle over excited yes with the defence

CFuller-I was having one of those moments when selecting the squad mate. And yes Berahino is very over rated

October 14th:
Latvia (Skonto stadions, Riga) European Championship Qualifying Grp B (8/10)
After the dominant performance against Macedonia this one was the complete opposite as we never got going at all. Luckily for us  Latvia weren't much cop either. It took till the 43rd minute for the first effort of the game as S.Berahino failed to score from six yards after the Latvian defence failed to deal with a simple cross.
The second half was in a pathetic as we failed to string more than a couple of passes together and in the end  we didn't register a single effort on goal in the final forty five minutes. If we had been playing a top nation we would have been battered

Latvia 0-0 England

J.Hart, K.Trippier, A.Cresswell, H.Maguire, J.Stones, N.Clyne, D.Welbeck, J.Williams (E.Dier), S.Sinclair (W.Hughes), S.Berahino (T.Deeney), M.Rashford

Other Grp B Results:
FYR Macedonia 1-1 Slovenia, Ukraine 5-0 San Marino

The two results sees us drop into second place behind Ukraine who have now qualified for Euro 2020. We however are two points behind them and five points ahead of Slovenia in 3rd place meaning a win will see us through

October 16th:
The World Rankings have been released and we remain 5th with Brazil top. The most improved nation is Madagascar who rose from 183rd to 143rd

November 4th:
With four days before the final two games of the qualification round I have been informed that I have a full squad to pick from, H.Kane has recovered from his recent injury

On the 15th minute we added a second goal from the spot as S.Berahino was brought down and took the penalty to give us a two goal lead. Straight from kick off we made it three nil as H.Kane intercepted a poor pass and fired with power from 25 yards to give the keeper no chance of saving. We were all over the home side and with six minutes left in the half we added goal number four as D.Alli jinked into the area with the ball and fired under the helpless keeper.
The second half was much the same as we continued to press forward and just before the hour we had goal number five as P.Casarini put through his own net after diverting a R.Sterling cross. San Marino never looked like getting the ball but it took us till the 85th minute to get the final goal as H.Kane completed his hat-trick from the spot after M.Rashford was brought down in the area

March 27th:
Croatia (Maksimir, Zagreb) Friendly
Croatia had the first chance of the game with a powerful strike which stung the fingers of J.Butland. On the 24th minute we had our first effort as A.Kalantari showed the defence a clean pair of heels but his final effort went just wide of the post. Eight minutes later we took the lead as R.Sterling unleashed a thunderous effort into the top corner. With five minutes remaining in the half Croatia had their next chance which was tipped round the post by J.Butland.
The second half was six minutes old when we added goal number two as P.Jones headed in a D.Alli corner after H.Kane's initial effort was well saved. On the hour it was Croatia who came close as their attack ran through the defence with ease but J.Butland ran out and smothered the ball with ease. With twelve minutes remaining in the game we added the final goal as H.Kane got the goal his performance deserved with a fine strike.

Croatia 0-3 England R.Sterling 32, P.Jones 51, H.Kane 78

J.Butland, K.Walker, J.Stones, P.Jones, A.Cresswell, R.Sterling, H.Winks (E.Dier), J.Henderson (D.Alli), M.Rashford, H.Kane, A.Kalantari (J.Tymon)

March 31st:
France (Stade de France, Saint-Denis) Friendly
A real poor first half by both sides saw neither my side or the French side get past the middle third of the pitch. The only real chance of the half came to the French as they tried their luck from outside the area but F.Forster easily caught the ball.
The second half wasn't much better in truth with little in the way of action, On the 74th minute we had our first chance with a curling effort from M.Rashford which saw the keeper at full stretch to save. On the stroke of full time the winning goal was scored as D.Alli hit a powerful strike which gave the keeper no chance. Another poor game but a win is a win in my eyes

France 0-1 England D.Alli 90

F.Forster (J.Butland), K.Walker, H.Maguire (P.Jones), S.Cook, A.Cresswell, R.Sterling (K.Trippier), H.Winks (E.Dier), J.Livermore (D.Alli), J.Tymon, M.Rashford, A.Kalantari (T.Deeney)

That looks a tough group, but you should get through it.

And Kalantari in the senior squad at 17!  What is it with Liverpool developing all these gifted young strikers? I've come across loads of them in my England save.

May 29th:
The draw for the European International League Division A has been made today and we have been drawn against Italy again and Russia

June 2nd:
Brazil (Wembley, London) Friendly
Seven minutes into the game we took the lead as M.Rashford fed the ball to the feet of H.Kane who lashed the ball in off the upright. On the 19th minute we had another chance with a long range effort from R.Sterling which was tipped over the crossbar by the keeper. Just after the half hour Brazil had their first chance as they broke through my defence with ease but F.Forster managed to block the effort with ease. With two minutes remaining in the half Brazil had another chance to score after some sloppy defending by H.Maguire saw F.Forster into a world class save.
The second half was eleven minutes old when a silly error by H.Maguire was intercepted and Malcom fired in under J.Pickford. On the 67th minute we had our next chance with a long range effort from E.Dier which saw the Brazilian keeper at full stretch to save. However twelve minutes later we had the assistant referee to thank after he ruled a legitimate goal out for offside. Their was one more chance on the game as deep into injury time Brazil nearly silenced the Wembley crowd with a thunderous effort which rattled the crossbar from outside the area

On the 32nd minute we had another chance with S.Berahino stinging the fingers of the keeper. Just before the break we had another chance to score as S.Berahino again beat the defence but the keeper again managed to save.
The second half was all us and on the 57th minute H.Kane had the chance to score with a long range effort which the Danish keeper tipped over the crossbar. Ten minutes later M.Rashford was up next to test the keeper with a thunderous effort which saw the the keeper again saving the day. We were all over the Danish and with seven minutes remaining in the game we finally got the win we deserved as H.Maguire headed in a J.Lingard cross. June 9th:
Gibraltar (Estadio do Algarve, Loule) Friendly
Seven minutes into the game we took the lead as D.Alli beat the offside trap to fire in under the onrushing keeper. On the 15th minute it was two nil with M.Rashford firing in from close range. It was far too easy and on the 26th minute we grabbed another goal as M.Rashford headed in second of the game. We were all over the home side and with three minutes remaining in the half H.Kane slotted in to send us into the half time interval four goals to the good.
The second half was eight minutes old when H.Kane grabbed his second of the game with a powerful strike from just outside the area. On the 65th minute we had another chance to score as J.Lingard curled a ball towards goal but the keeper managed to tip it over the crossbar. Six minutes later H.Kane failed to complete his hat-trick after fluffing a chance to score from six yards. With eight minutes remaining in the game J.Lingard added to our tally with a thunderous effort which gave the keeper no chance of saving. On the 85th minute the seventh goal of the game was scored as R.Sterling jinked through the defence with ease and slotted in under the keeper. On the stroke of full time the final goal was scored as M.Rashford completed his hat-trick with a great shot which rattled in off the upright.

The first half saw both my side and the Russians struggling to get our passing games going and it took till the 28th minute for the first effort of the game with the Russians coming close from six yards but J.Pickford was on hand to block the shot. With four minutes remaining in the half we had our first effort as M.Rashford beat the offside trap but his final effort went wide of the post.
The second half was three minutes old when the first goal was scored when F.Chalov ran through my defence with ease and fired under J.Pickford. On the 59th minute we had our next chance as J.Lingard jinked past the Russian defence but the shot was pretty dire and went wide of the post. Four minutes later we were punished for some poor passing as F.Chalov intercepted a loose ball and fired with pace past the outstretched arm of J.Pickford. O the 75th minute Russia had the chance to kill the game as they again beat the defence with ease and tried their luck but J.Pickford was on hand to block the effort. With three minutes remaining in the game we pulled a goal back as M.Rashford headed in a J.Lingard cross, however it was too little late and Russia grabbed all three points

June 20th:
Sweden (Saint Petersburg, St.Petersburg) Euro 2020 Grp A (2/3)
Not the start to the game I wanted as on the 16th minute I was forced into a change with T.Deeney coming on for the injured H.Kane. Eight minutes later we had our first chance of the game as T.Deeney ran onto a D.Alli through-ball but his final effort went wide of the post. However on the 36th minute Sweden had their first chance and scored from it as J.Guidetti rose above the defence and headed a cross past the keeper.
The second half was twelve minutes old when we came close to an equaliser with R.Sterling curling a free-kick just wide of the post after S.Berahino was brought down on the way to goal. On the 74th minute we nearly screwed it completely up as a poor pass by J.Stones was intercepted but luckily for him F.Forster was on hand to block the effort. With a minute remaining in the game we got the equaliser as H.Maguire headed a whipped in corner from J.Lingard to give us an undeserved share of the points

Spain (Saint Petersburg, St.Petersburg) Euro 2020 Grp A (3/3)
A must win game for us and it didn't get off to the greatest of starts as P.Alcacer fired in from outside the area to give Spain the lead. On the 19th minute we had our first chance with a powerful effort from M.Rashford which stung the Spanish keepers arms. Twelve minutes later we had another chance with S.Sinclair rattling the upright from ten yards. We were starting to dominate the game and deep into first half injury time we levelled the scores with M.Rashford showing some silky skill to beat the defence and fired under the keeper.
The second half was all us as we dominated with ease and on the 64th minute we came close with T.Deeney having his long range effort turned around the post. It was getting too easy and on the 79th minute J.Lingard gave us the lead with a fine strike which no keeper in the world would have saved. However we nearly got caught out as a poor challenge by J.Stones saw the Spanish awarded a penalty, P.Alcacer stepped up for the penalty and fired it towards goal but F.Forster guessed right and saved the penalty with ease.

France (Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussels) Euro 2020 2nd Round
A terrible start saw us a goal down within five minutes as K.Mbappe rounded F.Forster with ease and fired into the empty net after my defence seemed to fall asleep. Ten minutes later they had another chance with a long range effort which beat F.Forster but also the crossbar. It was all France and on the 29th minute they double the lead with A.Griezmann beating the offside trap and firing over the onrushing keeper. It didn't get any better as with a minute remaining on the clock we were a further goal down with A.Martial volleying a brilliant cross into the top corner to send France into the half time interval three goals up.
The second half was alittle better as my players actually remembered what a football looked like and started to use it. However it was France who grabbed the next goal as A.Martial fired in his second of the game  to give France a four goal cushion. I urged my players forward knowing that we were out of the competition anyway and with eleven minutes remaining in the game M.Rashford headed in a K.Trippier cross to give the England fans something to cheer about. On the 85th minute we added a second goal with D.Alli unleashing a thunderbolt into the back of the net from 25 yards after beating the French defence to a loose ball. However it was far too little far too late for my players and we were out of the competition.
