sevra Posted November 25, 2017 Share Posted November 25, 2017 Just a few days in the game and the news box poped up saying that due to club protests about scheduling, the 2022 World Cup will be hosted in Australia rather than Qatar. CFuller Posted November 25, 2017 Share Posted November 25, 2017 The 2022 World Cup has always been moved from Qatar, at least since FM15. Basically, the World Cup cannot realistically be held in Qatar in summer, but it's also currently unclear how exactly major winter league schedules in 2021-23 will be re-arranged to accomodate a winter World Cup. SI can't really attempt to figure it out themselves until everything is much clearer. In-game, taking the World Cup away from Qatar makes more logical sense for SI than moving it to the winter or simply leaving it as is. There are several potential replacement host nations: I can name Australia, Canada, China, Morocco and USA off the top of my head. In my current FM17 save, it went to Morocco.
