DazRTaylor
With my last career save now lost and a one club save ongoing with Matlock, I do enjoy the career type of game so will start afresh. Game Type - Journeyman. I will start unemployed. Reputation - Sunday League. Starting Qualifications - None. Editor's Used - Real Competition Names. Huge database added. No extra leagues being used. Leagues Loaded Argentina Australia Austria Belgium Brazil China Denmark England Finland France Germany Greece Iceland Ireland Italy Mexico Netherlands Northern Ireland Norway Poland Portugal Russia Scotland South Africa South Korea Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey Ukraine United States Uruguay Wales All leagues have been loaded down to their lowest level. Database Size - Huge. Updates - I only intend to update at the end of each season. I won't be doing previews, though I will be doing club overviews when I move on. In fact, I like the way @dafugeupdates, so will be basing my posts on his. Youth - I love to develop players, so any player I feel has a chance to make the first team at the club I am currently managing will be tagged. YP17a1 for example, would mean Youth Player from 2017. The "a" means he is the best prospect from that intake and the "1" means he is the first youth prospect I have produced in my career. Records - I am a bit of a statto, so will be keeping detailed records during this save which you can see in the next few posts.
DazRTaylor
TEAM RECORDS - SINGLE GAME & SEQUENCE This section details the records I have achieved during this save. Transfer Budget - £8,412. Wage Budget - £5,570 per week. Current Wage Bill - £5,321 per week. So I have a little bit of room to sign some players. League Quite a lot of work to do here! DazRTaylor
FC United of Manchester Season 2016/17 Review League A decent recovery as the club enjoyed a seven match unbeaten run in February & March, six of which were under me. We survived relegation quite comfortably in the end. My record is not too bad at all - nine wins, three draws and three defeats. F. A. Cup We lost at Tamworth in a replay in the third qualifying round. All this happened before I arrived. F. A. Trophy We were already eliminated before I arrived, losing at home in the third qualifying round. Squad Some upgrades, so better than when I started here. That said, most will be released as I need to start from scratch. I will be trying to keep some of these loans for another season. Transfers I brought in two new permanent signings and six loans as the squad needed some serious upgrading. Finances Quite healthy, due to our excellent attendances. Key Player Profiles Junior Morias - Signed on loan from parent club Peterborough, the 21 year old Jamaican striker was sensational, scoring six goals in seven games. Adam Wrightson - The 20 year old winger, on loan from Gateshead, made a real impact at the club and will be hard to replace. Paddy Lacey - Another loanee, this 24 year old central midfielder was my first signing at the club, from Accrington Stanley for the rest of the season. He ran the show in the middle of the park. Darren Stephenson - Yet another player signed on loan, this time from Tranmere Rovers, the 24 year old Jamaican winger was in brilliant form and gave plenty of full backs nightmares. Rhys Sharpe - Signed from Swindon Town for a transfer fee of £5,500, the 22 year old left back has made the position his own. Next Season I will be aiming for a playoff place next season. Career Summary Season Team Country Champions League Europa League League Position Achievements ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2016/17 FC United of Manchester England N/A N/A Vanarama National League North 16th Appointed on 1 February 2017. 20th on arrival. DazRTaylor
FC United of Manchester Season 2017/18 Departing Review League Top of the league and five points clear. We are also unbeaten on the road, so I leave the club with a clear conscience. F. A. Cup A disappointing run saw us fail to reach the first round as a loss at home to Worcester City saw the club eliminated in the fourth qualifying round. F. A. Trophy A routine win over Blyth, saw the club draw Vanarama National side York City in the first round proper. Squad The squad I leave behind is far superior than the one I inherited and they should win the league quite comfortably. Transfers Quite a few additions this season and they have pretty much all been a success. Finances I leave the club in good health finance wise, despite being over my wage budget virtually throughout my time here. Youth Recruitment - Average. Media Prediction - 2nd. My expectation - 7th. A playoff spot should be the goal. Transfer Budget - £915,760. A huge budget for a club at this level. Wage Budget - £39,353 per week. Current Wage Bill - £35,607 per week. League No reason why we cannot aim for the playoffs. Squad A pretty good squad that is clearly underperforming. Finances They appear to be in rude health for a League Two club! DazRTaylor
Rochdale Youth Candidates Day Season 2017/18 A really good intake this year and I have tagged two players who I feel could make the grade at first team level at this club.
DazRTaylor
Rochdale Season 2017/18 Review League Just brilliant. We lost my first two games in charge (one was in the F.A Cup), but then we never looked back as the squad adapted to my tried and trusted system. F. A. Cup My first game in charge was away to non league Dagenham & Redbridge and we promptly lost, so were eliminated in the second round. Very disappointing. EFL Trophy Already eliminated before my arrival, the club went out Checkatrade Trophy The club went out after failing to get out of their group. Squad A squad not short on quality, I fully expect this group of players to challenge for a play off spot next season. Transfers Some real quality was brought in, in January, as my squad was easily the best in the division. Finances Whilst still healthy, it is a lot lower than when I joined. I did enjoy a spending spree in January though. Key Player Profiles Joao Mota - A January acquisition, a long term injury to our first choice striker saw the 17 year old Portuguese forward thrust into the team and he didn't look back, scoring 13 goals in 18 games. I really feel we have a potential Premier League star on our hands. Sammy Ameobi - The winger joined in January on a free transfer and was easily our best player. Trevoh Chalobah - Signed on loan from Chelsea, the young centre half was a rock at the back. Lloyd Isgrove - Also signed in January on a free transfer, this winger complimented Sammy Ameobi beautifully as we dominated many games by playing out wide. Jamie Allen - A product of the club's youth academy and still only 23 years old, he has made over 175 league appearances for the club and has another cracking season. Next Season I am thinking about moving on already. The squad is more than strong enough to challenge for a top six spot in League One and I may need a break from England. DazRTaylor
Rochdale Season 2018/19 Departing Review League A rough start saw the club only achieve three wins in the first ten games and we were mid table. However, a run of twelve wins out of fifteen sprung the team to the top of the league. F. A. Cup Two routine wins against non league sides have seen a third round draw away to Crystal Palace in round three. EFL Cup An excellent win over Norwich was followed by a poor performance in losing to Brentford as we went out in the second round. Checkatrade Trophy Wanting to have a go at winning the trophy, I have fielded strong sides throughout and we achieved four wins from four, scoring seventeen goals in the process. Squad A squad with some quality that I feel could survive in the Championship. Transfers Some more wheeling and dealing as a good squad was improved still further. Finances Still in the black, but not great. DazRTaylor
Newcastle United Season 2018/19 Review League A mess. A dreadful season, though we managed to survive. A huge improvement is required next season. F. A. Cup My first game as manager at the club and we were so poor, I was amazed we only lost 3-1. Eliminated at the first oppotunity, in the third round. EFL Trophy Already eliminated before my arrival, the club went out in the second round. Squad Such a poor squad. On high wages and low on quality. Some major revamping is required. Transfers I managed to bring five players in, though four of them were immediately loaned out as they are for the future. Franck Kessie is the only real acquisition of note. Finances A reasonable amount in the bank and being Mike Ashley in charge, we will probably remain in the black. Key Player Profiles Franck Kessie - My first signing for the club, he is young and gifted and played very well in his half season here. Matt Ritchie - Playing on the right wing, he had a decent season. Jonjo Shelvey - The midfield maestro runs the game...when he turns up, which is not often enough. Chancel Mbemba - A solid, if unspectacular centre half. Danny Ings - The striker, who, when fit, is the best player at the club, has been injured for most of the season with a damaged cruciate ligament injury. Next Season A top ten finish is my goal. DazRTaylor
Newcastle United Season 2019/20 Review League After nine games, we were in the relegation zone as we won only one of those games. We recovered somewhat, finishing eighth, which is satisfactory. F. A. Cup We made it to the fifth round before going out, losing at home to Southampton. EFL Trophy A decent cup run to the semi final, before being outclassed by Liverpool, losing both legs by an aggregate score of 6-2. Squad Much better than last season, though we are still nowhere near competing for a Champions League place. Transfers A huge turnover of players as £112m was spent, with £124m being brought in from player sales. In total, 28 players arrived, a lot of them youngsters for the future and 51 players were either released, sold or loaned out. Finances Solid if unspectacular. Key Player Profiles Wesley Hoedt - Arguably my best signing to date at the club. I activated his £14.75m release clause from relegated Derby, he is a Dutch international and is the first name on the team sheet. Rodrigo Robledo - Teenage right back signed from Brazilian side Sao Paulo for £12m, he has been magnificent. Franck Kessie - Defensive midfielder who has been a rock. Henrik Brandhof - What a prospect! Teenage goalkeeper signed from Brondby and thrust in as first choice goalkeeper early, he has quickly become an excellent goalkeeper and he can only get better. Moise Kean - Teenage striker signed on loan from Juventus, he scored over twenty goals in an excellent campaign. Next Season I hope to challenge for a Europa League qualifying spot. DazRTaylor
Completely unexpected, as we only finished in eighth place in the league, but very welcome, nonetheless.
DazRTaylor
Newcastle United Youth Candidates Day Season 2020/21 A good intake this year and I feel three players have a chance to make the first team and they have been tagged accordingly. A bit striker heavy though, unfortunately.
DazRTaylor
Newcastle United Season 2019/20 Review Europa League An excellent campaign, which consisted of nineteen matches, after an indifferent group stage. League A good season, though we did drop silly points at times as we competed on four fronts. Losing the last four games was particularly disappointing. F. A. Cup A solid run to the sixth round, before being eliminated at Old Trafford by Manchester United. EFL Trophy My first major trophy! Victory over Brighton in the final saw the club win their first cup since the 1960's. Squad A squad now bursting with quality and most are young so will only get better. Transfers Not as much activity as last season, though there were still plenty of deals and more than £100m was spent. Finances We had a takeover this season and the new owners pumped £21m into the club and improved the facilities. Key Player Profiles Wesley Hoedt - This Dutch central defender continues to be at the heart of the team and is the first name on the team sheet. Rodrigo Robledo - The Colombian right back is very solid at full back and continues to impress. Rafael Neves - An excellent season from the Brazilian, as he dazzled up the right wing. Henrik Brandhof - The young goalkeeper continues to get better and better. Wellington - Teenage Brazilian striker was first choice striker and he repaid the faith I put in him by scoring xx goals in xx games. Next Season Champions League qualification is the next step. DazRTaylor
I have missed this save so am carrying on with it, though I think I need to move out of England as soon as I can. I am also continuing my Portuguese save as I am enjoying that too.
