  1. It's one of those things that would never be introduced now, but makes the tournament experience so much better as everyone can watch it. The idea of putting something ahead of immediate economic value is almost alien. However I haven't got World Cup Fever yet.
  2. Also, how do they know there's no crime? It's not like they've had a warts and all experience
  3. A Mexico loss to the the first team they face in the knockouts is a world cup staple along with an African bonus dispute and Lars Lagerbäck, it won't happen.
  4. I think at the last WC I'd assumed Guadardo must have retired, I'm sure he was a winger at some point
  5. Sounds like the old reserve list where any half decent player would get a call in case there were loads of injuries.
  6. Going with ITV is one thing, going with Bein is another level.
  7. What if it blew up on Reddit or something because someone posted 'inside info' on here about a celebrity? From another thread there is already a lot of pure rumour going round about Darren Grimes based on no attributed sources whatsoever. And in the grand scheme of things nobody cares about Grimey.
  8. I was talking about this with my family, apparently they did do a feature for This Morning.
  9. But people have no idea what most MPs look like. The statements are stupid though, it's not the idea that people were having to wait another 30 seconds that has got them annoyed, but that one group has a 13 hour wait and another flash a pass. Focus on the bringing it to the attention of the public via their programme angle, not the semantics
  10. Especially in the age where live TV is dead. I still find it mad an FA Cup replay is one of the top events.
  11. It's because BARB isn't fit for purpose Still a bit weak considering how much was shut (although it looked a nice day elsewhere)
  12. It's because they invited everyone round who didn't have a TV for this special occasion
  13. I dunno, there are times where in real life conversation I'm embarrassed to admit I've read/seen something on here. Like I would just say "the internet" rather than anything indicating an FM message board.
  14. It is selfish and not really justifiable but anyone who missed out only really has themselves to blame. Sadly we now have the nonsense commentary again.
  15. According to the Daily Mail "industry experts" said up to 4.1b which seems fanciful. This is both impressive and quite dull
  16. Watching as it's significant but my word am I going to have to absorb a lot of nonsense.
  17. There was some paper review on the BBCat one point, some Austrian paper had a really large section on it. NFL matches last week had a minute's silence or applause (can't remember which) for it
  18. There was a decent (imo) 3 part documentary on Bolsonaro on BBC2. You have to stomach contributions from Bannon and Greenwald but it did a good job of showing up how he is scum without explicitly saying he's scum.
  19. My guess is aspart of a feature for This Morning? I don't watch it, so couldn't confirm that. I don't agree with MPs being allowed to skip either (unless as part of the Privy Council at the start), if they want to pay their respects/be seen to they should get in line with everyone else.
  20. Is there a celeb lane? I can only find reports that Schofield and Willoughby could skip it for work purposes, not just as they are famous. (Not sure I even agree with that concession tbh)
  21. This, basically I'm sure I've seen you post shots of London streets in Union Jacks before, national pride is even in the most progressive countries of the world. Portugal's national day commemorates this:
  22. No my point about TV is not that they are the exact same degree of coverage, but that nobody is forced to watch it and the same rhetoric applies. Channel 4's schedule across its channels is showing as normal atm so if people want to watch something else on TV they can. If funerals are being unilaterally cancelled then I have been suckered in by that statement and fundamentally disagree with it. I think the people getting annoyed about two teams playing football are the snowflakes. The FA decided to cancel football, other sports carried on so that can't be imposed by the monarchy/state. If an organisation suspends matches out of respect it can but people should also accept it if they go ahead. Not being given the option to do X is not the same as being forced to do Y. For me 'snowflake' is making a big fuss over something you just don't like having evolved from its original taking offence meaning. Funerals and NHS stuff I have more sympathy for, inconvenience of leisure time less so.
