  1. What about an island challenge? Winning the leagues of those teams who play in a mainland league but are situated on an island? Las Palmas (Spain) Cagliari (Italy) Maritimo (Portugal) Ajaccio (France) IFK Mariehamn (Finland) Obviously there will be more such as Mallorca or Ibiza in Spain but maybe an idea?
  2. Anyone be interested in a casual 1v1 online game at all? Mostly playing during the day and some evenings just when each of us are available?
  3. End Of Season Review Results The signings we brought in definitely allowed us to boost our chances for promotion. And that along with the form of Lyness really allowed us to become a force in the division. We score a high number of goals leading to some very entertaining games! League Table We were a bit up and down but a great run in April spring boarded us to top of the league and that is where we finished! FA Cup Poor here. We really should have won both games but poor defensive lapses see us go out at he first hurdle. Carabao Cup We managed to get through the first round but a tough draw away to Southampton saw us out in the 2nd round! Papa John's Trophy Our backup players got through the group stage but poor finishing was costly in the first knockout stage as we went out on penalties! Internationals Good wins against Japan and then Bulgaria before I gave a lot of young players debuts in a 4-3 defeat against Armenia! A group we really should be pushing to win here! Transfers Out No real big transfers here. We did lose some of our backup players for nominal feels. The one big transfer was Chilvers to Luton for up to 235k with a 20% sell on fee as well. In A lot of smart business done here. No money spent and the money brought in for the players sold was used for wages to bring our teams skill level up a level or 2. The 2 loan signings from City really helped us kick on in the 2nd half of the season as well. Player Review - Junior Tchamadeu A very impressive season from our young right back. 4 assists and 1 goal with an impressive 7.25 average rating! Still more room to grow as well for us!
  4. Lyness Mid Season Review Club Review What a season it has been thus far for Freddie Lyness for Colchester. In the league he has 22 goals in 22 games along with 7 assists. He is the top scorer in the league comfortably at the minute. From the penalty spot has been more of a struggle only converting 2 out of the 4 he has had thus far. In the 3 other cup competitions he competed in he managed to find the net in all of them. Firstly a hat trick in the Carabao Cup win over Swindon before he got a consolation goal in the FA Cup loss against Tranmere. The Papa John's trophy he only appeared once from the bench to get us our equalizer in the first knockout round which unfortunately was ended by a penalty shootout! International Review Taking out friendlies Lyness has played twice for the Northern Irish u21 team scoring once before scoring a goal and becoming the youngest ever scorer in a World Cup Qualifying game against Bulgaria! On top of this he has 2 more goals in a friendly against Japan. The Player The player is progressing really well and now has a current ability of 112. He has been the standout player in the league thus far and is continuing to develop well. Have tried to rest him in a few league games and all the Papa John Cup games to ease the workload on him slightly. Appearances: 29 (1) Goals: 29 Assists: 7 MOTM: 6 Av. Rating: 7.73
  5. International Debut It was a debut of his dreams for young Northern Irish striker Freddie Lyness as just 85 seconds into his debut as Gavin Whyte's cross fell to him just 4 yards out and with the net gaping he thumped it home. After Dallas had already doubled the lead came the 2nd goal. This time Lewis down the left hand side whips in a beautiful cross which is met perfectly on the forehead and thumped into the top corner to send the home fans wild. There was no hat trick to come but an amazing start for the youngster.
  6. His current ability at the start was 100. I gave him decent PA as well so that when we reach the top he can handle himself!
  7. International Let's see how he can get on here as well!
  8. The Save I have been struggling to get into saves recently so have decided to try something a little different. I have created my son in the game and my plan is to keep him at the same club and try and break all goalscoring records at the club and appearance holder. He will play until he retires! The Player He has the current ability of the current teams level (Colchester) and I have given him some good potential as well!
  9. End Of Season Review Results A sticky period at the end of February and in March but we bounced back to win the last 10 games of the season with Lukaku in amazing form. League Table Incredibly tight and we didnt actually go top until the penultimate game when arch rivals Everton held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield. Our comfortable win at Wolves on the last days sees us as Champions again! Champions League It wasnt to be this season. We were comfortable through the group stages and getting past Porto in the first knockout stage however 2 shocking first halves in both games against Barca cost us with us being down 4-1 and 3-0 respectively. We played well going forward but just have ourselves too much to do and went out 7-5 on aggregate. FA Cup Nice to win the FA Cup against City. We were fairly comfortable throughout most of the competition except for the away tie at Coventry when the backup players needed extra time. Carabao Cup We made it a domestic treble by beating Leicester 5-1 in the Carabao Cup final. Standout game being the trouncing of City in the quarter finals with a largely young side! Euro Super Cup Another Super Cup win against Villareal this time inside regulation! Community Shield Forgot to pop this in at the mid season review. Our season started in July with a 2-1 community shield win over City who are not our biggest fans this season with us having knocked them out of both domestic cups also. Goalkeeper Watch Mendy got 11 goals and 4 assists in 40 games and Kepa got 8 goals in 21 games! Player Review - Leonardo Belnavis (YP22A) Developing nicely and got 5 goals and 5 assists in 21 games this season! Player Of The Season - Romelu Lukaku It was a slowish start to the season for Lukaku but post World Cup he was unstoppable and again won the Golden Boot scoring 31 goals in the PL. In total he got 36 goals and 11 assists for us this season including 4 in the final game of the season at Wolves to bring the title to Stamford Bridge. Young Player Of The Season - Armando Broja Again was a vital member of our squad this season and seems to have a great habit of scoring late goals to get a point or win all 3. In total he scored 20 goals and got 10 assists Squad Review
  10. Transfers 2022-23 Out Nothing major out in the summer with most players leaving young players who wouldnt make it into the first team squad with the most notable probably Clarke-Salter who I contemplated bringing up to become a 5th choice centre back but decided that the younger players who came through the youth team last year would be better places getting those games and developing instead. Again in the January transfer window we moved on some more players who wouldnt make it here with the one exception being Jorginho who we sold for a big sum of money. With Kante, Kovacic, Gilmour all capable of playing that role and Mount who can fill in we didnt need him here and he was complaining about game time!
  11. Youth Intake 2023 Had the overview pic corrupt so unfortunately can only show the players we signed!
  12. Season 2 - Mid Season Review Results Another very good first 1/3 (due to world cup) of the season with only 2 losses in the league and in both games it was our own finishing that was the issue! League Table We sit 2pt clear of Liverpool and 5 clear of City at this stage! Champions League It was a kind draw for us which enabled me to rotate the team quite a bit and give younger players a chance as we comfortably win the group. A nice draw against Porto in the next round. FA Cup Another chance for our young guns to show us what they have got! Carabao Cup For the 2nd season in a row we draw Man City in the quarters this time at home. Lets hope for a different outcome this season! Euro Super Cup Villareal in the Super Cup again. This time extra time wasnt needed as a Mendy penalty was enough to give us a deserved win! Goalkeeper Watch Mendy has 6 goals in 14 games and Kepa has 4 goals in 12 games! Player Review - Trevor Chalobah Now an England regular (more on that below) he has become Silva's main partner at the back. It is an area we arent blessed with a lot of top quality but he has been performing brilliantly thus far. Other News England win the World Cup with 4 of our Chelsea boys starting the game and 2 former Chelsea players also on the pitch (and both scoring). Amazingly Mount didnt play and in fact wasnt even called up to the England squad!
  13. Youth Intake Preview This doesnt look good!
  14. End Of Season Results A fantastic end of the season for us. We only lost 2 games and those games we had rotated the full squad due to CL games! League Table In the end we were 8 points clear and win Chelsea's first title since 2017! Champions League Well what a run this was. This save was always going to be slightly easier at the start but more difficult as those senior players starts to leave or retire! We had a scare in both the quarter finals and semi finals but managed to pull through and then comfortably beat PSG in the final! FA Cup A good run here was ended by Arsenal in the semi finals. They went on to lose to Man City in the final! Carabao Cup Fully rotated sides in all these games and we did well to get past Birmingham and Liverpool before City battered us! Euro Super Cup A tight game but Hudson-Odoi gave us our first trophy of the season! Club World Championship A lot of rotation again here but our better overall quality told as we win our first ever Club World Championship! Goalkeeper Watch Mendy scored 3 goals and 2 assists in 40 games and Kepa got 5 goals in 22 games. (Please not I only changed this halfway through the season) Player Review - Jude Soonsup-Bell An area we were a bit short in was striker. He came in and became a good rotational player for us scoring 6 goals in 11 games! Player Of The Season - Romelu Lukaku He was our main man this season and simply unstoppable at times. 43 goals and 13 assists in 46 games and 11 goals ahead of Salah in the Golden Boot race! Young Player Of The Season - Armando Broja Became a vital member of the first team this season partnering Lukaku a lot when Havertz was covering other positions. 21 goals and 5 assists in 29 (13) games is a fantastic return! Other News Didnt even need to ask for this but it is definitely neccessary! Our facilities were downgraded at the end of the season so needed this!
  15. Champions League Final We beat PSG in their own back yard! They were missing Neymar through injury but still had Messi and Mbappe up top! In truth we were comfortably the better side and probably should have won by more. Lukaku and Mount with the goals to make in 2 in 2 seasons for the CL!
  16. Champions League Semi Final 1st Leg A struggle here against a Utd team well up for it. We were 3-0 down and all but out of the tie when Broja popped up in the 90th minute to give us hope! 2nd Leg Luke Shaw was sent off only 13mins in but we couldnt make our dominance count until the 2nd half. Kane got us back on track before Havertz and Werner scored twice in a minute to send us through to the CL final!
  17. Champions League Quarter Final 1st Leg A crazy first leg dominated by Lukaku who got 4 goals and 2 late goals from Mount and Broja made it a much more comfortable scoreline. 2nd Leg At 2-0 down we were struggling but a screamer from James confirmed our progress through to the next round.
  18. Dream Debut That's how to make an impression on your debut! A double in a 2-1 win!
  19. Champions League First Knockout Round 1st Leg We went to Barcelona in confident form and took the lead early on through Mount. Barca came straight back and equalised through Dembele. It didnt stay level for long as goal scoring machine. no not Lukaku, but Sarr who currently has 11 goals in 22 games including a hat trick put us ahead again. Thats how it stayed until just before half time when Broja put us 3-1 up. There was more chances for both sides in the 2nd half but there was no more goals and we take a big advantage going into the 2nd leg. 2nd Leg In truth we were by far the better side and 1-0 flattened them. We had to be patient and wait until 13mins from time before Lukaku put the tie to bed. We had 32 shots and an xG of nearly 4!
  20. Youth Intake 2022 Overview I will take this. 4 players over the 150 PA mark as well as 1 at 149! Nice mix of nationalities as well! The Players Great finishing and technique/flair already and decent pace/acceleration for that age. Could definitely become a very good player for us. Need to work on that crossing, finishing and passing if he is to become a good winger for us but definitely potential there. Probably the most first team ready player out of this crop. Mentals and physicals very good and also solid heading and tackling in the technical sides. Definitely a solid player in here! Not as ready as Piroddi but again a good bade for a player there. Great personality here and if we can get that finishing up 4 or 5 points then along with that acceleration and determination we could have a Tevez like player! Lets see how he develops but will be in the youth team for a few years! Rounding out our defensive overload of players is Sullivan. Again good mentals but a lot of work to be done technically and physically!
  21. Mid-Season Review Results We have been simply fantastic in the league thus far with only 1 defeat away at Newcastle. Lukaku has been in incredible form this season scoring 23 league goals already which is 10 more than anyone else in the league. League Table Our form puts us 2pts clear of City at the top with a game in hand which is great so far! Champions League A toughish draw for us but we managed it well. We rotated quite heavily for the Young Boys games and the draw in Madrid thanks to a 91st minute Jorginho penalty enabled us to finish top. Off course we draw Barcelona where 3 of our defenders went off to in the summer! FA Cup Well the hope is to get a lower league team to let us use the youngsters for game time. That isnt to be and we have Utd at home! Euro Super Cup A very tight game was settled in extra time thanks to Hudon-Odoi scoring a thumper from 20 yards! Carabao Cup Well not exactly a nice draw for us here. Our reserves beat Birmingham comfortable before a rotated team beat Liverpool at Anfield with a late Werner goal before the same rotated team where comfortably beaten by City! Player Review - Harvey Vale Vale is one of our youngsters I called up to our first team squad to become a rotational player. He has grasped the chance with both hands and has played 10 games so far scoring 3 goals and 3 assists! Youth Intake Preview Not looking great but these have been wrong before lets hope it is again! We could do with some defenders! Transfers Those who have went out thus far! The ones I mentioned before. Batshuayi, Rahman, Bakayoko and Barkley were all no longer required. RLC I am also looking to move on as well! Other News Essential for this save! Youth Review For those players who are 22 and below in our first team squad. I am trying to give game time where I can!
  22. The Save This will be a save where I take over the club I support in Chelsea and will be a youth only challenge! I have also decided to move those on who are due to leave the club onto their respective other clubs. This is: Rudiger to Real Madrid Azpi to Barca Christensen to Barca Alonso to Barca Drinkwater to the unemployed queue! I know some of the above are not confirmed but just to make the save a bit more difficult!
