    Basically as the title says. When I try and run the test in the advanced rules there's a problem with the Second Division.

    "American Second Division, Wrong number of teams (23) found for Stage 0 of American Second Division (24 Required)"

    The only thing I really want to use the Advance Rules for is to fine tune some of the squad rules (specifically, limiting the number of foreigners in the starting XI), nothing that affects the structure or number of teams in the league. So I'm kind of at a loss as to why it stops working when I'm only changing that one rule.

    St Louis City is the problem team. I substituted it with a TEST.FC team i created and it all verified . Can you advise if it was a extinct team before you used it ?

    Well, it should. Maybe the new FM25 engine might improve the game in this aspect, because FM has been around for decades and if they want to insert a gegenpressing system, they should do it properly, not just for the sake of it.

    I agree it is just a computer game and it won't be fully realistic, but the purpose of simulation is to increase realism as time goes by. Pressing in football nowadays is almost essential, so the game should simulate it properly. We are in an era of football where many systems have been proven to be efficient (gegenpressing with Liverpool, positional play with Man city, defensive and counter attack with Atlético Madrid, functional play with Real Madrid...) So I think devs should put a lot of effort  focusing on how to improve realism within the ME instead of adding useless stuff like face paint...

    I understand people who come to terms with the game flaws, but to me this is a way of taking responsibility from the company. In the end we all want a better game as loyal fans, but being complacent with evident flaws that never get fixed to me is not the best way to help SI deliver a better simulator.

    Football is a spectacular sport and the price for making a game that will sell lots is having to find the balance to suit people's demands. Someone said early and I agree, this community here is what keeps the game alive, and I think SI should listen to the innumerous reports and complaints because they come from people who love the game, not only casuals who play to win everything within a season and quit.

    It's been well documented that the visual match engine is at its limit hence why its changing . I dont get why people are complaining when we all know its being replaced

    I have to say, I'm struggling to really enjoy this game while still playing a lot.

    On the one hand, some parts of the match game experience are by far the most sophisticated they've ever been. The way the ball moves, the deflections, the variations in shot types are all things of beauty. Makes me wonder why more focus has not been put into this before.

    I don't require better quality graphics than what we have, just a better depiction of the way football is played, with all it's different types of shots, passes, saves, ricochets, tackles etc. Give me more animations! I can't wait for a game which depicts stepovers, and I hope this is the area which the FM team put all their energy into improving for the next edition.

    I'd also say the game has been visually improved so much by the modders out there. I've got a beautiful skin, photos of players and stadiums and it really brings life to it.

    On the other, there are a number of bugs in my game which really detract from my experience. I don't know about others, but I'm currently playing in England and - no matter what the weather says, be that downpour or drizzle - the match is played out in a hazy summer light, half of the players in my game have lost all their career history, and my scouts are incapable of finding anyone. This is just a selection of the most irritating ones to me.

    I understand bugs are part and parcel of a game, but it's disappointing that something as fundamental as the visuals of a match is still a problem well after the release date. I feel like I'm having to overlooking faults in large parts of the game to enjoy it.

    Then, there are the other wider issues such as the flawed player interaction system in need of a complete rewrite, the stale, generic stadium visuals which must be opened up to modding, the inability of the AI to squad build, and the lack of distinct tactical styles on display.

    At its core, there's a potentially brilliant game here but its flaws make it a frustrating experience for me.

    The weather is beyond the capabilities of the match engine which has been discussed before . Its never been any good in any series but hoping next year will see improvements with the new graphics engine

    I think there is way too many 90:th minute goals for my taste. I mean like in the 97:th minute of a 6 minute extra time match. Yes, the other team probably push for the victory at the end, but how come my knackered players act like they have sweataed their brains out while their knackered players can bomb up and down the pitch like there's no tomorrow?

    Lots of goals in real life are now being scored late in the game and extra time !! It's all to do with the extra substitutions . We should be going back to 3 not using 5 .

    seriously, how is anyone enjoing this hockey simulator?

    11 shots, 4 goals

    8 shots, 4 goals

    I tend to agree because I was playing the Australian A-League a few days ago and some team scored 8 goals and I thought this is stupid but then yesterday in real life Melb.City beat Brisbane 8-1 . And Brusbane are nit a bad team by any means.

    I think the main issue is there are too many substitutes in today's games which results in fresher players late in the game and longer extra time

    Mine's still calling up fake players but I'm sure I'm missing a step somewhere. Does the comp itself (K-League or Thai top league or whatever) have any settings adjusted?

    That why I gave up years ago . Only gets fake players.  Numerous bug posts to SI resulted in no replies so they are not interested or it's a very low priority .

    I would say its in the editor for future releases and is probably missing codes at this point .

  7. If someone berates you then the natural response is anger . If someone yelled at you in that manner you would become angry . But is that anger then used in a positive way or a negative way . It should be positive I would of thought so to make players try harder but I don't see it works that way at all . Maybe someone from SI can comment and give us more clarification of these shouts and when they should be used .

  8. Easiest way is to go to the download forum and find a MLS created league and download it and research how it's constructed.  Or go into editor and add the USA as a league and select add to exsiting league then change it to advance rules and research how it's constructed.  Either way its easier than trying to explain it

    Where did you get this '85%s'?,,It's a good goal mate, I've seen a lot of placed shots I don't think it's a concern,they aren't more than pwr or normal shots even IRL,Maybe he knew he was off and went for it or he has it in him a lot of similiar instances in real life when players choose the harder or unexpected choice,see this placed shot and maybe watch more highlights or other teams matches for more

    It's actually not a good goal as its offside . The 85% is just an estimate of what I experience in the game . But again why take a risk shot rather than a calculated one . Any coach would take him off the field if he missed and tell him to pull his head in . But a great shot indeed but alas not a goal

    The match engine is very boring since last update and same problem i can have 20 shots on target very good xG but only 3 goals

    they've done something to the game which won't allow you to score more than 5 goals even if u have 20 shots on target and you will  rarely score from long range

    I want a challenge but theres something not right about this years game

    can you atleast improve the stadiums its been the same sort of stadiums for so many years make them more realistic and improve player graphics  also give managers more freedom in the game

    atleast allow us to add a managers picture,  arrange cup games with a presentation at the end theres so much more that could have been added to this game   also  I feel like my team instructions and tactics have no real impact even when I'm winning its like the result is already been made before the game has even kicked off

    Its well documented that the stadiums won't be improved until a better graphics engine comes along next year

    Hi guys,

    Anyone else's loading screen painfully slow? Takes me a good minute to get from the loading screen to the start screen. The game plays perfectly fine but for some reason it's just the loading page that is slow.

    You can try removing the movie file to see if it helps .

    Back it up first though

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2024\data\game\movies\splash_fm

    Remove the folder or just its contents etc

    Reload game and it will go blank but only for a few seconds abd takes you straight to start page

    If it takes as long as it did before then put those folders back as they were .

    You can also check this as a first option

    C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024

    Delete Cache folder

    Reboot game

    You surely can edit stadiums. With the comp editor, it worked perfect in the previous versions. But I wanted to know if it works for FM24.

    This is proberbly what you are looking for

    You need to use the resource archiver to obtain the Comp Editor File from the game files . Once you have got it  Please back it up first before altering it !!!!!

    Open the file comp editor\format\database  then open the stadium XML File and find or search for stadium sides

    You will see this section

    <!-- Stadium Sides -->
          <record>
            <flags id="field" value="Ssds" />
            <translation id="name" translation_id="435709" type="use" value="Stadium Sides[COMMENT: editor; section showing details of sides of a stadium]" />
            <flags id="type" value="list" />
            <boolean id="allow_add" value="true" />
            <boolean id="allow_remove" value="true" />
            <boolean id="allow_move" value="true" />
            <boolean id="debug_only" value="false" />        This line will say true so change it to false
            <record id="list_item">
              <list id="fields">

    Save XML file and then use the Resource Archiver to put the Comp Folder back into the game from where it came from

    Open your editor and go to your stadium and you should now see this ( See Below )

    I needed to show this off, while unfortunately offside, one of the best goals I've seen in FM! :D

    FM GOAL GIF.gif

    While it is a tremendous goal i cant help thinking whu a player would take that option when he could of controlled and shot or passed it to the player near him . For this reasoning im finding many goals are way to over powerered in there delivery of shots . There doesnt seem to be any finesse in front of the goals . Occasionally you might get a close shot goal but it seems like its 85% power goals in this game . Even goal of the month or year in the Awards section are all power shots from 25-30m out
