Really looking forward to it! I think FM18 was a big step forward tactic/ME-engine wise, and the introduction of even more player roles in FM19 is a bonus!

I just hope that there aren't too many big changes to the ME, as I personally think the ME at release the last couple of years have had a couple of big flaws I would expect to be dealt with during beta testing.

Where as the ME was good the graphics were very poor . Stadiums , Grass textures , and the bug that been there since 3D started of a defender kicking a ball out for a corner for no reason . Found a lot of stuff missing that was in previous versions for some reason ? Tactics was better though .

Just play FMT. Its got just as much depth as FM really. The games are practically the same, save for competition rules and media interaction. My mind boggles when people say "I hate this in FM, I know FMT's like this but I want the depth of FM"... so really what you're saying is you just want to delegate this stuff away.

When I play FM, thats what I do. I barely notice it then.

But anyway, interaction matters because it happens in real life, and also because it taking part (or not taking part) does impact on job applications within FM to some extent. And none of it is really nonsense, its just one of those mini-games within FM that plenty of people actually play and use.

    No editor though

Genuine question. What issues have you logged on the bugs forum? Looking at your post history, I found these 4 UI issues which range between insignificant, solved and not followed up by yourself:

An SI tester got back to you on this post, but you never replied. There's this issue, which you received feedback from SI on, and also this one which an SI tester said had been "put forward as a potential Feature Request, therefore it is still under review at the moment". There's also this one, which I believe you understand was due to your assistant handling match preparation.

There was this post in the match engine bugs forum, which seems to have been a solved issue, and this post, to which you were asked to make a new dedicated thread, but which I can't seem to see was followed up by you.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong (which I'm fully prepared to be), what are the myriad issues posted in the bugs forum by you which haven't been dealt with?

There are many things to criticise SI for, but posts such as yours' with no constructive value and which are ill-informed and ill-judged, i.e. moaning for moaning's sake, really get on my wick.

Sorry your on a wick . That is sad . The Feature Request isn't a feature request its a reinstatement that was taken out . If you don't like this game to be criticised then go away and hide in a corner . Its not up to you to decide what someone should complain about so if it gets on your wick then don't read it . Your response has no constructive value than just to shut someone down who feels the game is going nowhere . Just like a moderator you defend the game instead of looking deeper into the millions we pay to have little effort . As stated the game has not grown at all . Same ol Same ol .

Then it's your own fault if you don't see any.  You should be buying it because you've seen marked improvements, not complaining because you bought it blind.  Especially if, like you say, "every year it's the same".

Ummmm . The only thing they do is add new stuff that then becomes an issue . They never solve the problems that are still present from way back in FM13 . Its your fault that you are blind and see only what the tell you on the cover . The 3D has become a lot worse . Ive gone back to FM15 and its heaps better in my opinion . Anyway it is only what I perceive and I wont buy another RM for a long time .

  5. Well another update another disappointment . Had enough of logging the issues I have that on there BUGS FORUM that just don't get fixed . Going back to FM15 as it still has what I want from this game . May come back and try FM25 or something but for now I'm not doing this anymore . This game has not grown the way it should and is taking money for nothing  . We buy it to see marked improvements but alas its stagnated  What was in this update isn't much at all . .  Sorry about the rant but every year its the same .

I haven't yet managed a single competitive match on this newest iteration but will still comment a little bit about the match engine:

As I requested there now seem to be more of those long range through balls from the more creative players and for example my DLP is putting in some beauties and by that creating good breaks as I wish tactically. Much better and I hope that this 'feature' is here to stay as for me the term 'creativity' or 'vision' has been almost completely missing from the game.

Sadly though the defending seems to be quite a bit the same based on highlights. Centre backs still do not aggressively step out of the defensive line to close down the striker and this at times makes the support role with a striker too dominating. Also what I see a lot with defenders (still) is full backs totally falling asleep in slow build-ups which allows the winger or overlapping full back to escape and the other full back falling asleep at far post and this leads to both lots of free crosses and easy tap ins from the far post. The defenders in general should be more of experts inside the penalty area and dominating especially against the wide attacking players but that doesn't seem to be the case.

In terms of midfield the lack of pressure on the ball carrier especially with more than one player again seems to lead to the fact that the playmakers are seeing far too much of the ball. Again cannot stress enough that SI most definitely should make strikers defend instead of letting them loaf around and by that also nullifying lot of the CB roles as they cannot take part to the build ups. I simply do not understand why they do not consider doing this and see how it goes.

The midfield and the penalty area simply require more aggression and better marking and by that the effectivity of slow tempo approaches would drop.

This is a really good example of what annoys me. In the SC one you can clearly notice that Lemos is in ideal position to deal with this but what he does after the cross comes in is that he starts walking wrong direction while the striker (who isn't a good penalty area player) makes really active movement to connect with the ball and scores with ease. Both the goalkeeper and Lemos are really poor in this example and both of them should be clearly better penalty area players than the striker Berisha. This is even more common with full backs who especially on FM 2017 regularly just walked away from the ball at far post to allow easy goals for wide players.

And all this is not said so that I think that the engine is poor or anything. I haven't clocked enough hours to totally judge it but the early signs for me are that it is of course better than the engine was in FM 2017, just with wide players shifting to middle guarantees it. But in general I don't see the ME being able to take steps forward if they do not make defensive positioning more realistic and teams defend as a team.

Because it's all scripted . 3D is just a showpiece

  7. Well this the first time I bought the game 2 weeks before the release . The beta release as they say .

I'm almost thinking of going back to FM17 . I guess it's a beta version but what does this mean because at this time my 3D graphics barely run . I use the same options as FM17 and its very poor not to mention the ice rink they play on (players skate instead of run ) . For some reason the game runs better in window mode ? The interface is bad . The new hierarchy thing well ? What does it do really . The training seems the same . Scouting is mmm average as the interface goes .

I mean it seems like I've bought the same game ( FM17 ) But with a poor 3D option and a few glossy improvements .

Guess will wait for the actual game and some massive updates that I think will be coming.

At this stage i given it a 4/10 as a game and 3/10  against FM 17

It's just a hard game to play at this time . A lot of lags on the game and interface .

One thing they have done now is in the schedule screen you can click on any upcoming matches and see past meetings for all the games against that team . Someone listened
