    Good form continues. It does look like the occasional blips are getting ironed out. Ako’s unhappiness must be getting concerning. How much would his demands break your wage structure by? Is Jensen still at the club?

    Lots of GK goals! Another good bunch of results. The other result lately that’s good to see is the improvement in the overall balance

    Nice dilemma to have! Tough choice to pick from Simoes and Rosa (Simoes by a hair for me). Though Rosa’s name seems to be popping out a bit more lately. Bartlett is another nice option to have as a third choice too I’d also include Teamwork as another difference between them.

    I wouldn’t be paying that price for him. It will be curious if a team does! He is missing some technical skills I’d have expected (finishing, passing), otherwise his mentals look great s as long with his physicals (a you mentioned), plus those skills also mentioned. I wouldn’t be surprised if he also has stellar hidden stats too (could come out in your scout reports), which will be interesting to see what his position is. I’m going AF(a)!

    Another league win, and this time you get the rub of the head-to-head When I said that it would be good to get some top talents though your youth intakes, I wasn’t expecting it to go this well! Mavioso plus Fati! That’s the spine of the team sorted Sad to see your stalwart keeper Simoes retire. I guess he was only hanging around for the WC which is pretty realistic. It is timed nicely to stop Ako from getting unhappy. Looking forward to seeing you go deeper in Europe and winning the league in the next few seasons now

    If it’s third next, then that is Arsenal according to the table above. 7 nil against Chelsea with Walsh getting 4 is a crazy top result! Going to be interesting to see who is first team keeper after Hodgson recovers, and at the end of the season.

    A step too far was last season, though going out of Europe on away goals is definitely a positive for the coming season. A fruitful offseason of preseason and squad building (internal + transfers) is just what Groningen needs. Plus, that youth intake looked promising indeed just thought I’d mention that I like how you’ve added the link to the player profile connected with the pic/info/etc. Does it take you much time to do?

    I recommend: Brilliant Orange by David Wimmer (about Dutch football though). I’ve been meaning to read Zonal Marking by Michael Cox. I should reread Inverting The Pyramid too. The Verona and Castel Di Sangro as well are on a list. Bergkamp’s book too. And Football Hackers by Christoph Biermann. Pick one and read it it I should.

    That’s such a small margin both in Europe, the cups and especially the league in the way last season played out. I think any other season and you’d be champions, maybe won a cup and progressed deeper in Europe. Madruga had a pretty decent end product and ratings season

    There’s that extra quality forward! Now you’re going to have good depth there It’s a shame that of the rest of the intake, only two or three others who can even get close to making your first team.

    Baby steps, with a good finish in the league with the players inherited the first ones. Then skedaddle those you made a list of and checked twice. Going to find out if your players can last the distance though. I agree with getting into that four-to-seven playoff looks like a good aim. Would you have enough depth to add European football to your schedule?
