  1. Can you try and combine those stats in the screenshot into numbers? Would be interesting to compare it to real life football and see how far off it is. I found this in a article:

-The table below shows the percentage of games won by the home team, away team and drawn in the last 21 years of the top four divisions of English football. Home win, away win and draw percentage of games played in England’s top four divisions since the 1996/97 season and to the time the article was written.
Link to the full article: http://eightyfivepoints.blogspot.com/2016/08/home-advantage-home-advantage-is-much.html
    Table2.png

    EDIT:

I did the quick math myself, Seems like you have less draws than normal and a bit more home wins, but its only a single season so its not that crazy for it to be a bit off the "average".

    Home wins: 179 - 47.1%
    Away Wins: 126 - 33.2%
    Draws: 75 - 19.7%
    Total Games: 380

  2. I tried to win the champions league with Goytre United. They dont have that low of a wage budget but the JD Cymru Premier is such a low rated division that most good players want to leave the team because lack of opposition. I ended up playing the reserve/youth players in the league and the best players in european competitions. I got to the group stages and even won the group a few times. but I never won the champions league.

About 90% of the income is from European price money. If your not in europe you get less than English Vanarama National League money. All the teams are Semi-pro except TNS..

If you manage to win the Champions League with Goytre United, let me know! Perhaps I should give it a few more seasons :D

    EDIT:

When you start they have a wage budget of $25 per week. $1300 bank balance. They are a Amateur Club with 20 season ticket holders and about 40 people come to see the matches. You the manager gets NO wages. None of the staff have any wages. Everyone work for free including the players on Non-Contracts.

You will get semi-pro status after getting to top division. BUT you have to win the top division and get to the Euro cup 2 groups stages for that  $2.5M reward bonus to be able to afford getting a Professional Status.. I dont think there are many Semi-Pro teams in the euopean qualifying rounds so you got to get a lucky draw :D

  3. Its all listed very detailed under Rules within the game. Go to competitions, click on the league. Mouse over "Overview" near the top left and click Rules in the drop down menu.

I did the british isle challenge and I remember there was a points threshold. I cant remember the details but International Apps and Wage is a factor. You can see in the red box in the picture that if you offer that player high enough wage he will get a work permit. The other 3 teams must have payed him a larger salary.

  4. I guess you are talking about the top teams of the world. What about for a smaller club that cant really afford to pay someone a wage and loan him out for a few years to develop?

I noticed that young players that gets first team matches do gain Ability Star Rating. The once who barely play any matches gets no improved star ratings. So Id say the training has little effect by itself.

  5. Well its normal to have 25-30 players in the squad. And most contracts have apperance fee's, goal bonuses and like 10 other bonuses. And those bonuses are also only payed sometimes depending on match results and is also not to the entire squad every week/match.

If they used Recent Expendature numbers to calculate the "wage budget: Current spending" i bet most people could afford another rotation player or at least have a easier time staying within the wage budget.

  6. Hello, I am trying to rotate my squad. I have Wednesday and Saturday Match Days every week for months at the start of every season. But I was wondering if there is a quick way to select a team without hovering over the green circle and look for "high" injury on every single player each time I select a team before a match.

Do you have a quick and efficient way of picking a starting 11 with "Overall Risk of Injury = Low"?

    And Is there a option in this menu that makes my assistant select a team limited to those with "Overall Risk of Injury = Low"? ;
    medDk1R.png

I usually hover over every player like this to check, takes ages across a whole season..

    Thanks for any advice!

  7. I dont agree with the way the game calculate non-contract's into the budgets. You cannot use/pay more than 11+3 player salaries per match. But if you have 40 players the budget thinks you will pay them all. I hope they change the system so that the Actuall Expendature on Salary and Bonuses from the past 3-6 months is affecting the "current spending" amount instead of just using a pre-calculated theoretical amount for this figure.

  8. And In both versions of the game you can go to staff search, sort by atributtes and offer a contract to any role regardless of your Upper Limit. If he accepts the contract you get a inbox message saying "sorry but you can have more staff BUT you can fire one of your current staff members and hire the new guy anyways. No problem.

Why should you not be able to do the same via Staff Adverts? Look for a new and potential better coach or head of youth development WITHOUT having to fire the current one, place a advert and then play the game for months with one less coach or what role it was and hope a new better guy comes along.

In fm19 I would place a Job Advert in March and in April. Then lots of guys showed intrest in the job. If someone interesting showed up I would not renew the current guys contract in June. And then Hire a person from the Job advert the next day. In fm20 I have to wait for June, Place a advert and be with fewer staff memeber untill august and the best part is I might have to hire someone with WORSE attributes because nobody good wanted the job.

I think the issue here can be seen in the screenshots you provided. In the left screenshot you have 1 assient manager and there is no upper limit for it. In the right screenshot you have 1 of 1 possible assistent manager, so I think the game limits you.

Yes Upper Limit. Ill use that phrase from now on. Sorry english is not my first language.

In Football manager 2019 the staff member Upper Limit is listed on a whole seperate page burried somewhere in the board room somewhere. But the Small figures in blue, light blue and pink are still there to "show" if there is any room left. It was made easier to see in Football manager 2020 as its now listed in the staff screens as a fraction like 1/1 or 2/3 ect.

Anyways, In that screenshot on the left from fm19 I am at the Upper Limit for assistant, head of youth, coaches, goal keeping coaches and everything yet I am able to place staff adverts for every single role. If I had that situation in fm20 I would not be able to place a single advert and the "place advert" list of roles would be empty.

I have 1000 hours in Football manager 2019 and 1500 hours in Football manager 2020. I have never had the ability to have 2 assistant managers at the same time, or 2 head of youth for that matter. I dont think this is user error, I am ceritan that they have changed this between the game versions and I want the change undone. I like a lot of the additions to fm20 but this one is very frustrating to me. I don't use staff search to find staff at all you see. I only use staff adverts. Why do I do that? well because I like to play LLM to make the game more challanging.

  10. It was very nice of you and try to help me Wolf_pd. I hope I did not offend you, perhaps I could have written the response a bit nicer. If you have any experience using the editor, perhaps you can look for a solution. I have not used the editor at all. Only looked around in there. I dont know where to start with changing this. And I cant see any mods on fm scout or anywhere regarding this.

  11. Well if it was possible in Football Manager 2019, Why is it impossible in Football manager 2020? Are the games that different coded or created?

Nope, it is not possible to do job adverts. You can do a staff search in the game, that's closest to it.

Here is my current Staff In Football Manager 2019:
    EAzoorE.png

And Here I placed Job Adverts for Assistant Manager and Head of Youth Development, one highligted in Red:
    eDyCJ3x.png

In Football Manager 2020 The option to place a advert for Assistant Manager is not even a option in the bottom right menu (unless I dont have a assistant manager), but a mod might be able to change that?: (I dont have a Head of youth in this game, low league so I dont want one. Thats why I can place a advert for Head of Youth).

  12. Hi do you know if there is a mod that allows you to place job adverts for filled roles? Example: I want to see if there is any decent assistant managers interested in the role before I decide to renew my existing one's contract. I don't want to sack him, place an advert and sit for 2 months and hope a decent one comes along while I don't have anyone to help me play friendly matches for me. The same applies to the other Staff Roles too.

Or is it possible to change this in the editor and apply the change to a existing save game? I dont have the "in-game" editor, but the editor program via Steam.

    (I play FM20)

  13. Hi, I would like to place a Job Advert inside football manager 20 for a role while I still have the role filled. The option is not there and I have to wait for my current staff to leave before I can place an advert. Its not too bad to go a month without staff on lower divisions but on higher divisions I would like to get a better staff member without going a month without one. or sacking my current coach in "Hope" that I "Might" find a better one. It would be really useful to get the list of interested people for the job for assistant manager before deciding to renew the current contract or let him go for a new person.

This was easy in football manager 19, and I hope it gets added to football manager 20 in the future.

Edit: You can already go to staff search, sort by attributtes and offer a contract to a "better" staff without having any space for him. And If he declines no consecuenses. If he Accepts you can choose to sack your current person in order to hire the new guy. So this change Job adverts would not make the game any easier.

I solve this by personalising the roles of the players playing in that position.

I.e. 1 player as IF-At with his PIs, then 2nd player as W-At with his own PIs. That fixes the issue.

If you read my post you would see that I already said that In the origonal post that I also solve it this way. But its a work around and should not be required.

  15. To make the Tactical Familiarity stay mostly full at the main tactic I use 2 different tactics depending on if I play a larger club or not. They are very similar, and I also use to switch to the second one if I get a red card (usually without a attacking midfielder with 10 men), It makes for less highlights and I do sometimes score goals using the defensive tactic as well, but I get less chances.

    qbYAXZn.png

  16. I got a new striker who plays as Target man. I clicked personalized and selected target man. Then he played one match. The next match I clicked "Pick team using guidelines" and selected my main striker. and hit play. At halftime I noticed that he played as a target man, despite the "default" role bieng Advanced forward. The default role was now Target man for everyone.

It messess with Tactical Familiarity. The changing match to match makes it never get full bars. How can my new striker play as a target man without making my main striker also play as one?

  17. For me its a fun challenge. Check the league rules about transfer window. Usually you cant steal players from the other teams outside it. But you can sign players not at any club all year. Also a player wont leave for a few months after getting a contract at your club. So normaly I keep the "stars" for half a year at least, unless a team at a higher division decides to take them. Sign lots of players, 30-40 player squad and release anyone who complains about playing time or get a injury ect. no contract so no need to keep a unhappy player around.

  18. I would love it if they added a bit of contextual logic to players, staff and chairmens thinking and demands. Something simple as players complaining about not getting registrered when it was 100% not possiible to registrer them or complaining about not playing enough becuase I have 10 matches in 3 weeks and he excpects to play every match. Or the board giving every single staff member a coaching coarse every 6 months, but not giving the manager one for 3 years due to finances while having a million in the bank in VNL. And about 50 other situations that does not make sense.

  19. Hi, I know the referee is only humans and not a robot, and I like that but this one is ridiculous. There is no chance that there is any offside. There was NO replay with the lines on the pitch afterwards. I took the screenshots in 2d afterwards but I play in 3d normaly.

Its a free kick that is headed backwards out of the area. Then a player outside the area shoots the ball into the corner of the goal. You can see when both passes happen below, the ball is on the head of a person in second picture. Id say the Red player in number 2 is keeping everyone on side when the ball is headed backwards.

    1. Why did they not blow off for Offside BEFORE he scored, and 2. Who was it offside, and at what point?
