how can I turn my AML and my Mezz into a goal scoring machine ?

Last season my Box-to Box mid fielder, Striker and Inverted winger was top 3 goal scorers with 17, 16 and 14 goals in 38 matches. Perhaps you could try and play your mezzala and AML similar to how I play my Box-to-Box and inverted winger?

I have selected "Shoot more often" on my inverted winger.(edit role/instructions) He was my striker two years ago and is very good at scoring goals, so I want him to shoot instead of passing the ball when he is able to do so. Idk how you do it in fm22, I play fm20.  He has about the same amount of goals as my striker, but I don't care who scores, as long as they all score now and then. Here is my tactic:

Almost everyone scored tho, I dont see it as a problem I like that everyone but the keeper gets a goal most seasons.

  2. Hello. In most of my games in almost any team I manage; When the keeper drops the ball too feets and is walking with it, the opponent striker will run towards him, and then the keeper shoots the ball out long, or clears it sideways.

Very often/almost always the striker in question will run 15-25 meters away from the keeper first to form the formation, and then run back towards the keeper again. But why? If he just chased the keeper straight away, he could catch the ball much easier or at least make the keeper pressed more. Is there any strategic advantage for the striker to run away from the keeper and then towards the keeper again? Does it not tire him out faster too?

Is there a way to tell the striker to just stick around and not run back and forth, IF he didnt run 25 meters away first, he might actually catch the ball...

Another quesiton: Is it possible to tell your striker to NOT do this at all? or prevent it from happening? I am currently leading 2-0 against the best team in the division, and I don't mind the opponent Keeper spending 1-2 minutes walking with the ball to waste time, can I tell this to my striker? He seems to rush their keeper to pass the ball.

  3. TLDR: Is it possible to have the coach with the highest skill for judging players affecting the "Star rating Tab"  in the Squad (F3) Spreadsheet? Stars like in this picture
    0cO1U44.png

I currently do not have a assistant manager in the main squad,  who is filling the column with data? I have had these columns blank/empty before when I was without a assistant manager. can I see who it is somewhere?

If I click on the Coach Report of a player, I am able to change what coach is giving the report, and near the top of the screen it says what the guys skill is, example he has a 7 in judging ability. I cannot fingure out who is giving them in the spreadsheet.. how do you see who is giving the spread sheet stats?

  4. Hello,

    1. I Have had a year long battle trying to keep my Star player. He finally wanted to talk about a new contract but he demanded that I Strengthen Midfielders.
I was wondering if its possible to fulfill this promise without signing any players? Can the promise be completed if my current players becomes better players? Or is there any other ways to complete this promise without signing any new players, perhaps by selling the worst rated guys in the squad.

    2. I have another star player who does not want to sign a new contract.  would he also want to sign a new contract if the current players improve in star rating or in performance on the pitch, or is the only option to sign new players?

    Thanks for any advice!

  5. My guess is that you need a dedicated graphics card to run fm21.

Both steam store page and google says a 13 year old laptop with a GeForce 9600M GT can run FM21 fine. (That gpu was released in 2008).

Id suggest buy a $50 laptop from 2008 with this graphics card and use it to play Football manager only perhaps?

  6. But they pay income tax to the nation they are working, not their home country? England has 45% and France 43%. Spain has a rate of 26% of any income past 200k..

I would say Eduardo Camavinga playing for Real Madrid is the one who gets the most money after income tax.

Ill ask a question (mentioned in OP): When did Messi Retire in my current FM21 save, who did he play for and what Staff role does he currently have and where? Its year 2034 and he is 47 years old.

Maybe I should start in the lower leagues in portugal how about that? does it really makes the game more interesting ?

Dont stay in portugal. Many leagues have fun/challanging rules about selection and players. (Poland is very interesting).

Start in Bluefin Sport Championship as a sunday league manager. add N.Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Poland, Russia, Sweeden and Portugal.

Try and win every top division loaded with a single manager. Get a new job in the "next" nation once you have won. I think its fun. You can choose a different set of Nations if you want.

  8. Id make a few long term goals, and a few short term goals. And try a new team.

You said you always play in Portugal; I suggest that you start lower down and win the league in 3-4 smaller nations before joining a team in Portugal 15-20 years into the future(with the same manager) at the "end of the save" instead. You could start in Wales or Ireland, win in Poland and Slovakia and perhaps win the Sweedish or Russian league too before you take on Portugal and win Champions league..

Expect to have bad seasons. And Id also avoid managing the top/best teams because its a bit boring when there is no challenge.

  9. While managing Caerau Ely, my striker got a long term injury. I asked the DoF for a replacement and signed him without a trial or scout. He played his first competitive match for us at the agr of ~23. And scored 5 goals in a single league match once.

He ended up Getting a PAIR of Golden boots in a single season.

I like to focus on achivements/performance instead of attributtes or CA.

  10. I assume "building a squad" means buying/loaning new players to the club.

I mostly look at History -> Career Stats. If he has played most of the matches last season, I then look at where his team finished and if they did better than me I will most likely sign that player.

I use the stars too, but I don't sign a 5 star player who is 23 years old and has never played any competitive matches.

Maybe stop looking at the 3rd definition on some random wiki page, and start looking at the first entry of a dictionary?

    pace - noun
the speed at which someone or something moves, or with which something happens or changes

And yes, something moving at a higher pace means something is moving faster. Therefor 20 pace is faster than 1 pace in FM.

Yes I agree that if you say "He has a higher pace" you mean that someone is running faster. But the number value in minutes would still be a lower value. And the  game uses numbers to tell us about a players pace.

Pace has many meanings depending on what you are talking about. Its not simple. I am talking about "Running Pace", in the context of a person running.  And the players do run in football manager.

Take a look at this page: https://calcrun.net/pace-time/#pace_time

    What is running pace

Running pace is the amount of time in which you run 1 mi or km. Pace indicates how much time the runner spends covering the distance. Knowing your average pace, you can understand how long it will take to cover the distance.

Running pace is measured in minutes-seconds per mile or minutes-seconds per kilometer, depending on the units used. For example, a pace of 6:40 min / mile means that one mile was covered in 6 minutes 40 seconds.

  12. I think its odd that a guy with 18 Pace runs faster than one with 5 in Pace. It should be the other way around!

Someone who runs a kilometer in 18 minutes would be slower than a guy who runs a kilometer in 5 minutes.

"In running, pace [4] is usually defined as the number of minutes it takes to cover a mile or kilometer. Pacing is often a critical aspect of endurance events. Some coaches advocate training at a combination of specific paces related to one's fitness in order to stimulate various physiological improvements.[5]"

  13. I think its for teams outside of Europe mostly. Perhaps the badge pack you are using does not contain all National badges. Mine only had european teams afaik. Try using a different badge pack. Or perhaps you need a French badge collection pack thing?
