  1. Generally I'd suggest just keeping things fairly simple to begin with, look for better players than you have and look for solid players in the most vital positions ...

    * Lower Leagues
    Sign players who are good physically, especially strong in the air or very quick up strikers. Keep tactics somewhat crude and simple ... don't over think things, no fancy positions if they're a striker they should be a poacher or a target man in the main.

    * Upper Leagues
    You've got more money and options, knock yourself out - but defense first.

    Note 10+ is like one of the most powerful phones available. I'd think you shouldn't need to worry too much about background apps etc on a device like that. And certainly not disabling the enhanced match engine!

    Is it really that hard to optimise a game for Android compared to iOS?

    I don't have one here to test with - so I've suggested sensible things to consider without access to the individuals device to test with.

    With regards to the Note 10+ - what I do know is that its incredibly high resolution (3040x1440) so shifting a lot of pixels, hence my suggestions. As far as it being high performance etc. ... yes that is the case, however if you've 100's of applications open then as any windows PC owner knows the performance drops hugely, this is even more so with mobile devices.

    Makes no sense to me, but thanks.

    Budgets is a transfer budget, signings from free-transfers is allowed because I wanted to make sure that if a team had only two keepers and in freak circumstances both were injured you'd be able to potentially sign a stop-gap keeper etc.

    The idea of that flag is so you can play the season using the 'real' teams from the current date, not to make things rigid and unplayable.

    (basically I'm mean but not THAT mean ;)

    Any chance of director of football being introduced to football manager mobile. Appointing a physio seems pointless and i have seen people doing the dof challenge on the pc version

    When you ask for a 'director of football' - what do you envision them doing or is it a role you want to be able to take yourself?

    PS - A physio does what it says on the tin, a 'preventative' physio will prevent some injuries and rehab physios reduce the time your players are out from injuries when they get them.

  5. They mean pretty much what they say in terms of a 'dictionary definition' - that is they indicate the personality of the player and how they are likely to behave.

    I'll describe the ones you mention here:

    Unsporting - This is a player who is driven to win at all costs, he may 'push' the envelope in this regard to some extent, if he's an aggressive player then this might mean being overly physical and picking on others when the referee isn't looking, if he's a less physical player then it might come out as play-acting and trying to get others sent off.

    Relentless - This is a player who never stops trying, he's professional and has a job to do. He's the one who at 3-0 down with ten minutes to go is rallying the troops and tell them they can still do this.

    Professional - This is a professional player, someone who will always do what he deems is 'right' regardless of the situation. He may only have four days left on his contract before retirement but he'll still be giving 100% in training.

    (if I've time at some point in the future I'll try and make a full list of the personalities and their effects, but there are a LOT and I'm afraid I'm fairly busy at the moment)

    Ok, i notice that the players can grow in a reserve team, but if this is a real life game, it not became real with this "issue".. if I want my reserve team to win something, this doesn't work. And if I want players to rehab I don't need reserve teams

    They can very much win things, but you have to balance the people in there who will be motivated to actually play at that level - superstars aren't going to risk injury going in for 50-50 tackles in a reserve match.

    I'll make sure QA do some testing to make sure this effect isn't over-done or affecting too many players, but you're the first person who has mentioned it to me.

    Hello mr Marc, i have some doubts on that because i put my reserve team on 20 stats, all players and they still lose games, seems like doesn't have any effect on that.. the team should win the game for like 5 or 6 or higher and don't happen

    One of the things to remember with reserve matches is that only 'aspiring' players will tend to put full effort into them, if a player thinks he is 'above' such matches then he will save himself and try and avoid injury so won't play to his full impact ...

    Younger players and more professional players will tend to try hard regardless, but others may only play at a fraction of their ability - this is true to real-life as I'm almost certain that Premiership managers encourage their star players to use such matches as rehab rather than a competitive match.

  8. The mobile version is realistic but tries to be a little friendlier and is less rigorous about some aspects of the real football world which might bog the game down, so you don't have registration rules or FFP and that sort of thing.

    The emphasis is on matches, transfers and developing your team into a dynasty.

    It's still realistic but a lot faster to play than the PC version, we also try and give you more feedback on cause and effects - so if you have a media item about a player and tell the press that he's rubbish then you'll see whether you upset the player and whether any of his team-mates appreciated your stance at a glance etc.

    I have several 5 star players and haven’t been able to offer any of them the maximum so it seems pointless to state it. Also pointless being able to adjust budgets in favour of wages if you can’t utilise it. There’s no board cap on transfer fee so doesn’t seem quite right.

    If you can get us the save game then I'd be happy to take a look at this and tweak if it's required.

    To be 'given' the maximum wage available the board need to believe that its required to keep/get the player and that they're worth it. For instance if you had me in your squad your wage budget might indicate a max wage of 500k - but the board would probably consider the upper end of that slightly excessive for a 48 year old defender with two left feet ... and in those circumstances it'd be restricted to a more sensible, say 100 pounds per year ...possibly as a means of making me diet more ;)

    More seriously - if the player isn't truly world class in the boards eyes then 250k/week should be enough to entice most players to the week, wages above that presume that the player is a truly world class star and/or coming in with a huge transfer fee.

  10. Unless you are doing REALLY badly (by which I mean something serious - eg. far adrift from where you're expected to be and say 7 matches without a win) there will generally a chance that the 'Request more time' will work and the board will grant you another match to turn things around in .... however the size of the chance is dependent on various factors including your current situation, generally the chance isn't 'that' high normally around 20%, there are exceptions to this where the board will be far more lenient, for example if you've been at the club for a very long time the board will generally cut you more slack and you may find that they grant you a reprieve more than once because of past performances etc.

    Same ás @Footix, those 30 yard screamers are perhaps too often... replacing the goalies doesn’t really do the trick either.

    @Marc VaughanHow do I do that?

    Some screamers will and do happen - you can limit them by keeping players under pressure near the edge of the box, the easiest way to this is to play a tactical style which isn't overly attacking and especially using a DMC.
