1. The idea behind this is that they get some boost to their reputation from their career which allows them to launch as a coach better than most managers, its the 'Lampard' effect where despite not setting the world alight as a manager he's managed to land Premiership positions several times now.

What does need to be improved (imho) is that their reputation should collapse faster in this case when they do badly (its on my list).

  2. The 'potential' issue is something I've got a prototype fix in for here, but its with QA - it's not a huge deal, basically its a text issue - the player won't develop at present because he's not mature enough to take onboard the lessons/info he needs to in order to improve past this point, however when he matures (depends on his personality and some other factors) he'll grow further. The string should say 'needs to mature to improve further' but it wasn't displaying for 'reasons' (ie. geeky bug stuff).

Apologies for any annoyance this has caused.

    With regards to:
1. A player like this can never become a free agent. To enter the last six months in such a player's contract and despite many top teams being continually interested in him no one ever offering him anything is quite ridiculous. If he remains a free agent a couple more weeks/months even I might be able to sign him, as a newly promoted team to the Bundesliga... He just needs to become desperate enough...
Actually its fairly common that players wait until they're actually out of contract to negotiate deals - there are two sides to this, clubs might be wary of sigining a pre-contract for a hugely expensive player just in case he breaks a leg before joining them, secondly once the player is out of contract there is less 'flack' likely to head his way because of the media around him negotiating with various clubs who might be rivals of his current club etc.

Cases ongoing at present in the Premiership -N'Golo Kante (Chelsea), Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace), Youri Tielemans (Leicester), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Ilkay Gundogan.

These are all technically out of contract or about to go out of contract with their clubs (and thus elligable to talk to other clubs under the bosman ruling) - some will probably stay, but not all.

Most information on other out of contract players in the Premiership can be found here - https://theathletic.com/4563063/2023/06/04/premier-league-out-of-contract-free-agents-transfer-window-2023/

PS - One of the things I have tightened up (more) for next year is making clubs try to secure deals on important players long-before their contracts wind down.

  3. I'll take a look at this and see what I can do to improve this side of things - just to double check, you want the inverted wingback to be the person making the attacking runs, not filling into space where another player from midfield has moved forward (which is the more common role for such a player) ... if this is the case if I added an 'attacking inverted wingback' role as well as retaining the existing one would that suit you (as most people seem relatively happy with things so I'd prefer not to please you and upset another set of people, this is always a balancing act in that regard).

  4. It happens - but its fairly rare as in real-life, if you think of the Premiership last season there was probably one or two keeper sending off/injuries amongst 380 odd matches (so unless you do something to encourage it you'll be unlucky to encounter it with your own team in a single season, play 30 seasons and at some point it'll likely rears its head).

Same thing with in-match punch ups etc. ... they're in there, but rare.

  5. That's largely a warning that your club are spending over what they can realistically affrd in an attempt to get back into the top flight ... so the club is in an unsustainable position at the moment.

If you get promoted then things will probably be fine and you'll go back to normal fairly quickly (and you'll probably find you can put your facilities back up to a higher standard), however if you don't the club could find itself seriously struggling and your budgets restricted ... and possibly facilities falling further.

(happens a fair bit in football, 'generally' it pays off and clubs make the jump back - but not always ...)

  6. At the start of the game the presumption is that you've never managed a club before - hence if you set a reputation its because you were a well know professional player etc. ... thus you have no staff to bring with you.

Later on if you move clubs you can indeed take your staff with you if you want, if you want to sack the staff who are at your new club and negotiate bringing your old ones across.

I've mentioned on here previously that, despite retiring from football in January this year, Gareth Bale is still an active player and free agent when starting a new FM save.

I expected this to be  updated as part of the post-January transfer window release.

Are there any plans to retire Bale in FM23 Mobile or will be play on forever?

He'll most likely be retired/non-player for next years game, the reason he was retained was a research decision based on the fact there were/are rumours of him coming back to play for Wrexham etc.

  8. I've played two 30 seasons games now and its fun for the duration in my experience, exact balancing can vary depending on the leagues you've got active and random factors for obvious reasons (and tbh its expected that in some games you might find that there are few world class strikers for a couple of years and defensive tactics dominate or vice versa, these vogues happen irl also ... real-life isn't always balanced, ask Haaland ;) ).

All of the key players of Juventus Next Gen are missing from the mobile version's database, for e.g. Alessandro Riccio, Dean Huijsen, Riccardo Turicchia, Tommaso Barbieri, Nikola Sekulov, Mattia Compagnon, Marco da Graca, Emanuele Pecorino, among others

And players that are contracted to Juventus but loaned to other clubs are featured at Zebre B, such as Edoardo Motta (Monza), Federico Savio (Sampdoria), Edoardo Ghibaudo (Milan), Andrea Orlando (Monza), Luca Ventre (Alessandria), Alessio Vacca (Monza).

But the most blatant omission is the exclusion of argentine playmaker Enzo Barrenechea, who has already been oficially promoted to Juventus' first squad.

Furthermore, Juventus Next Gen players such as Martin Palumbo (Udinese) and Michele Besaggio (Genoa) are loaned at Juventus, but cannot be found on either of Juventus' teams and must be bought in order to then demote them to the Zebre B squad (along with Goalkeeper Crespi who shows up on the main squad roster).

With all of this in mind, and in order to have the best mobile version of this amazing soccer management game, I ask you to improve the accuracy on Juventus' B team (and of B teams overall), with a more faithful rendition of the B squads as they are the nesting place for developing future talents and if you make good use of your licenses, you will create the best experience possible for us fans.

Thank you in advance and I am eagerly awaiting for next year's instalment already."

Sorry you didn't get a reply - I try to repond to as many people as possible but I'm somewhat busy making the game and its easy for things to be missed.

with regards to Zebre-B there is a limit on the number of players available in any team in the game (80 players for an active side - 40 in the first team and 40 in the reserves), this means that for larger cubs sometimes hard decisions have to be made with regards to who is retained, this is done on the basis of the research which is supplied for the teams and the players who are more likely to feature or develop into first team players are those who are left active.

Often in reserve teams if a researcher doesn't have information on a player they feel is reliable then they'll leave critical fields like 'Potential' blank which makes the ones retained somewhat random, you could help ensure better selections moving forward by contacting our research team and helping to provide data as you seem fairly knowledable about the club.

(we will as always be striving to improve the games and its database moving forward, but the actual research isn't my area)

    Hope this helps,

    Marc

Ah :((.. actually i think most people don t know it :/..  it is the best gameplay mode of football manager :(

i am really soryy of this.. is there any light to bring it back for fm mobile ?

It's possible it might return in the future, but it wont' be happen in the short-term (simply because adding it will be a fair bit of work and we've already got the next couple of versions largely planned out).

I don't think there's a need to do that - that could be a lot of additional unnecessary work. We all want the same experiences without having to grind through ALL matches. So adding 1 feature to the existing game would be a win-win, and then let the players decide for themselves. Plus we like to see how our tactics do with simulated/instant results as a Manager too.

I'll think about it - but as explained earlier there are downsides to including it in the game as well as upsides.

(and yes it'd be a tad more complicated, but equally this isn't something that could appear overnight - adding this isn't quite as simple as you might think)

I have to agree with this - I've a job, wife, two kids and very little me-time.

So I love being able to build a squad in that time and fly through the games to see what impact I have. I do find it intriguing and want to come back. Whereas I find it grinding and unfulfilling having to play each and every game.

Each to their own for sure, but this is a thing, a way to play. So I don't see what's wrong with giving people the option to play that way too.

If I do it - I'm leaning towards making it a separate game mode so that people who are playing normally aren't tempted by it for the reasons I indicated - eg. make it a 'chairman' mode or similar .. would that suit you?

    - Mentoring: now pretty much unusable, only works maybe 5% of the time and ALWAYS ends after a week or so for me with the players having relationship problems. Used to happen every now and again but is now just constant and renders mentoring pretty much useless

On my list of things to look at.

-Board a confidence: random occasions of low board confidence (close to being sacked) despite massively overachieving in all competitions. I’ve seen screenshots of other FM players where they’ve been sacked, despite being top of the league with a team expected to fight relegation for example. This one’s a game breaker. I’m planning a long term 30 year save starting with a club at the bottom but I don’t want to start it in fear that 5+ years I’ll be sacked because of this bug

i've heard of this happening - but not got details so been unable to track it down so far, even knowing the leagues etc. involved would help as its definitely not common.

-AI transfer bug: receive an offer say for example of 30m from a club for one of your players, only to open the offer and it’s been reduced to 15m

If you can get me a save game with this in then it would be hugely helpful.

-international squad selection: I’ve not experienced this one yet as never managed an international team but apparently squad selection resets when confirming.

This will be fixed in a forthcoming update.

-loan player development: this may be deliberate by the developers but my players I loan out don’t develop anywhere near the levels they did pre update.

This hasn't changed to my knowledge - any chance of you sending in your save with a note to check (it might me your kids just haven't got the potential you think they have? ... or need to mature some more before improving further).

sure there’s another I’m missing but just really hope there’s a plan to fix some of these and we’re now not just left with a bug ridden mess until FM2024

I think that's a tad harsh myself, but obviously you're entitled to your opinion.

(I've personally played through two complete 30 season games without coming across any of these issues tbh and our review scores in the stores aren't awful, so I presume not everyone is hating things as much as you seem to be)

PS - We're somewhat busy and so can't always respond instantly to threads, please be patient when you ask for feedback (I'm actually on holiday today believe it or not, about to jump on a flight to watch my eldest daughter in a play).

  14. Its something I've seriously considered over the years - the issue with quick result is that it tends to disconnect people from the game and their players, for example you're hoping to win the league but things go badly in your first 4 matches and you start hitting 'instant result to hurry along to the next transfer window as this season is a bust, when you reach it you've not really got any idea who has been performing for you beyond their stats and they're reduced to just numbers with no idea of how they've truly behaved.

In contrast some of my most fun experiences have been where things have gone 'wrong' initially and I've been so upset with my midfielders poor performances that I've benched him and put on a 16 year old youth player who comes good ... a star being born, if I'd been 'quick resulting' then that would never have happened because he'd have never got the chance.

(so not saying 'never' but there are reasons its not present)

@DW19 @Marc Vaughan Unfortunately, that's a bigger problem. After latest patch, mentoring termination rate is too high. This happens even with identical personalities and a "perfect" recommendation. What's more, after termination, you can't choose another mentor, because this option disappears.

I'll take another look next week - but I've played a lot of FMM24 and its not been a big issue for me on either of my 30 season saves so far (I've only had a few blow outs and those have invariably involved an unprofessional youngster so I accepted them as fair enough, perhaps its too common in those circumstances?) ... most of my partnerships fail when I sell the mentor I find ;)

I am playing as a lower league French club (St Malo), so I often pick up youngsters to train up in hopes that they can improve and wither be sold or (if I can keep them) improve my club. In my first few seasons, I have tried mentoring 8 or 9 youngsters and most of the time the partnership ends in a fallout between the mentor and the "mentee". I am using the recommendations of my assistant and only trying partnerships that are predicted to work out. Is this something funny with the game (mentoring has generally worked pretty well in the past) or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Anyone have any advice for me?

Generally choose mentors who are in a similar position and who have either complimentary personalities to their mentee or whom have personality traits you'd like to see the mentee improve in ... ie. professional mentor will sometimes improve his mentees personality.

I know that they don't understand this a lot out there, but my uncle has his own company that sells digital products, in which he sells various types of Football Manager games, soccer games, Steam cards and others, but he recently He has had a problem with his sales and it is that they have dropped a lot, that is why he has proposed to carry out several marketing campaigns to promote his store in which they have told him that if he uses Adobe his campaigns will do much better, for he is looking for more information about using Adobe to grow his business and I have proposed to help him, I am trying to be as brief as possible so that this is not very extensive, the point is that I need to know how it can be used Adobe to grow a digital business and what is Adobe Experience Manager? which is something that I have also heard of but I have no idea what it is

You'd probably be better off asking on a marketing related forum or by linking to relevant people on linkedin and asking them, I'm afraid the chances of you getting constructive feedback on this sort of topic here isn't hugely likely (I'm just a designer/developer myself - I leave promoting our products to other people who are more knowledgable in that area).
