Buna ziua.

(I'm sorry but the Romanian league isn't in FMM24)

Can you announce some additions to the game that were not revealed in the announcement of the main news? I am very curious to know some of them, because usually these small additions always end up making the game more interesting, they have already talked about the increase in the database, and this is already a very exciting novelty, but I would like to know more.. thank you

I've mentioned a few things already (new referee instructions (ie. what has happened in the Premiership with additional extra time), Goal Droughts, Increased players in database & national teams available to be managed ... but tbh I think some of the 'fun' is people discovering things as they play so I don't want to go through things in minute detail and explain every new media item etc. ... sometimes its more enjoyable to discover things yourself?

Thanks for the reply, being honest yes that sinario would annoy me,it's just sometimes if I've got a big squad I might have 5 or 6 players not in the match day squad every week.out of curiosity does a players transfer value go down if he's in the reserves full time?

The transfer value is the perceived value of a player within the game world, if someone is rotting in the reserves for his side then he's not generally considered part of the first team and is priced appropriately ... so if you dump a first team squad member into the reserves then it will devalue him in the eyes of people, a bit like when a player falls out with his manager in real-life and is forced to train with the reserve team. This doesn't mean you have to let him go cheap, but you can probably expect a few clubs to make a speculative bid just in case you decide its time for him to move on (should generally only be really noticeable for established players obviously).

Would love an option for 1st team players not included in the match day squad to be automatically available for reserve games rather than doing each one individually

I'll consider this - but the reason it isn't in the game is that generally reserve games are mid-week and first team games at the weekend so its not really possible to 'know' what the user has planned, ie. would it annoy you if you went to field a player on the Saturday and discovered that he'd played in a reserve match a day or two before?

Something that’s always bothered me about loans, and I wonder if it’s been changed in FMM24 (and if not, please consider for future versions):

it would be great if you could specify the minimum level of league of a loan for a player.  There’s nothing more than having a hot prospect tear up the National League one year and then having to reject countless offers from the north and south leagues the next offseason when I want him to move up a league or two.  It would also be nice if there was an easy way to see what league they were playing in on their current loan—the loan him shows the team name but not what league they are in, which requires several taps and swipes to discern if you don’t already know; and that’s difficult because they move and it could be in a country whose table you don’t know well.

That's actually a really interesting idea (setting a minimum level of the loan).

    21 hours ago, darthcraven said:

a slightly related question is the issue of leagues that don’t have simulated matches.  If a player goes on loan to a sufficiently low league that isn’t fully simulated, it shows no fixtures.  In real life those teams obviously play matches (this goes for lower leagues and also the reserve squads for many teams as well).  Do the players on loan develop on those loans, or am I just wasting my tim

What happens for inactive leagues is that we simulate the expected league matches in the background and give the players stats from these, because the league doesn't exist the matches are 'approximates' and might not 100% match what would be played during an active season if the league was active ... so yes, players will develop on those loans properly (which is why this is done).

Most definitely a case of after the horse has bolted, but anyone else have issues with Attendances.

I'm Everton and it's one thing that really bugs me. FA Cup quarter final against Liverpool when I've won 5 on the spin, 14k at Goodison. Europe League Semi Final 13k.

If finance is linked to this, particularly if I was a small club on a cup run , it kind of breaks the immersion.

Makes note to double check these are sensible in the current build, thanks for mentioning :)

Absolutely gutted about the Netflix decision. I buy the mobile version every year, I dont want Netflix so wont be paying for it just for the game so that's it for me.

Enjoy all, I'll likely be back if the game becomes available again as a stand alone.

Sorry to hear that - but I understand that not everyone has or wants Netflix, we do have other games which you might already have access to and hopefully you'll find something in the FM family to enjoy until then.

Hello @Marc Vaughan, any improvements regarding the speed of matches or even the instant result option?

It's the only feature that would truly transform my gaming experience.

I've had a few people request this and I'm not 100% against the idea, it won't be in the initial version of FMM24, but I'll consider adding it for a new version/update at some point - I'll want to do a lot of testing of how it affects peoples attachment to their games and their playing styles so its not something I'm going to rush into (my initial gut-instinct is this would suit a 'Chairman' style game more more than slotting it into the existing game tbh).

Maybe it's not clear, but I really can't spend hours and hours during the week playing games anymore. Maybe that's how it works, aging forces us, it's difficult to make the decision to stop playing a game that I love so much. Maybe I have to admit that long games are not for me anymore. :/

I hear you, I love the PC game - but I've a busy life myself which is one of the reasons I made the mobile game, I wanted to be able to continue playing even now I don't have huge amounts of free time.

PS - Watching the Chelsea match today I'm expecting a few of you will have similar 'entertainment' when you send your keepers forward now and again ;)

Hi, I have an old Ipad Air 2 I'm guessing this is too old to play FM 24 mobile edition? if so what is the minimum spec/age Ipad that can run it?

I believe that the requirements are:

A compatible device: Android phone or tablet running Android 8.0 or later. iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS/iPadOS 15 or later (there are space/install requirements but most devices these days won't have issues with them).

The Air 2 is able to use that OS so should be fine :D

(if it helps reassure you at all, I had exactly that device for use as my main FMM machine until the screen crack expanded and I cut my finger on it earlier this year ..)

    Just one little thing

There definitely is a situation where there is a red badge that forces substitution in previous versions, but only AFTER the match do they end up being a green badge or even just with a condition reduction. The suspense of that is tense, and I definitely wish that remains in future versions

Yeah that is still the case - incidentally in case you aren't aware when a player gets a 'knock' sometimes it recovers and isn't an issue, other times it can lead to an injury post match ... if you substitute the player the chance of that injury occurring is reduced (because they don't aggravate it by playing on).

The level of hyperbole in some of the comments is astounding!

I've always taken the approach of viewing any comment on my games as a compliment, if someone has the interest in them to comment negatively or positively then they care about the games which is a good thing.

(and yeah I do prefer compliments, but as a parent I'm well aware they can be few and far between at times ... which is why they're treasured ;) )

PRE-MATCH HUB: Whether it's a title decider or a cup final, the new Pre-Match Hub will give you key insights before big games to help outsmart your rivals.

We already get it in the inbox, so I guess they moved it? Hopefully they meant improved it and moved it to a Hub

Yeah there is a lot more to it than the old 'news item' that you got to read, its built into the game flow so on a match day it'll pop-up where your 'home' page is normally and it gives you a lot more useful information about the up coming match so you can make better decisions with your team selection without having to run around and find the information.

The idea is to allow people to make more informed decisions without slowing the game down.

There are also more pieces of information on there - you can see your supporter and board expectations for the match and a media prediction of how the match will turn out. One minor thing you'll see pop-up in a few places is that all matches now show a ranking from 1-5 (adopted from various Fantasy Football sites) to show how difficult matches are expected to be, this allows you at a glance to determine how hard or easy your upcoming fixtures are and adapt accordingly (very useful if you're playing in a league you're not familiar with).

ENHANCED MATCH EXPERIENCE: New in-match notifications will make it easier than ever to change your setup when your team needs it most.

Maybe some people might need it? I do recall it being an absolute joke in the PC version, Captain Obvious tier advice. Hopefully they implement it well

This differs HUGELY to the PC implementation of assistant advice and is totally different, its basically situations where an on-field situation occurs and the manager gets a 'spot decision to make' ... they're fairly rare in matches (ie. you'll only see a few each season rather than loads each game).

To give a couple of examples:

    • You're trailing 1-0 in the cup final with 10 minutes to go and your keeper calls over to the bench that he wants to go up for the corner your team have been awarded, do you want to let him do so? ... he might win the match for you, or you might be caught short with him upfield ..
    • Your star striker is on two goals during a match and a bit of a prat, he's not great at taking penalties but is insisting he wants to take the one your team have just been awarded. Its 2-2 and you really need the three points, do you risk letting him take it to keep him happy or insist your usual penalty taker takes it?

EFFORTLESS ONBOARDING: From tactics to transfers, get to grips with the world of football management with refreshed in-game guidance.
Oh a better tutorial? Possibly good, I wouldn't call it a feature but this remains to see

I don't wholly disagree with your assessment when it comes to 'experienced users' - but because we're expecting a lot of people who haven't played the game to give it a go, this was kind of important for us to implement.

I do think that some of the onboarding existing users may also find useful however, ie. the tactical templates where it explains the positives/negatives for each against your current squad, ie. pointing out that your bunch of clod hoppers with 4 passing might not be best suited to playing tiki-taka no matter how much you might want to ;)

NEW REPUTATION TITLES: Earn reputation titles as you progress through your career based on your tactical approach, personality and transfer decisions.

I don't think this should even be classed as a feature, this is probably closer to an achievement screen with additional flavour text

This is actually one of the things which took a long time to implement and is a LOT different to just an 'achievement screen' ...

To summarize as you play the game it will continually assess your style of play and the 'titles' are awarded based upon what you do and reflect how the game world percieves you, each has an realistic effect in the game which can be positive or negative depending on the circumstances and players.

    So for example:

Relegation Specialist: This is awarded if you avoid relegation from a division with clubs who were expected to get relegated. This will give most players at your club confidence that you can lead them to promotion and improve their motivation and buy-in to what you're doing (ie. slightly less likely to rock the boat, higher morale etc.) ... however it also means that you're seen as a one-trick pony and might dissuade some larger clubs on taking a chance with you, because you're seen as someone who is 'alright' with smaller clubs but might not be suitable for larger ones.

Hair Dryer: This is awarded if you're hard on your players (in team talks and interactions). This can motivate players to try harder, however some more fragile egos might wilt under the pressure and indeed some players might shy away from signing for your club because of your reputation.

You'll see the effects of these titles in lots of areas of the game - job applications, transfer negotiations, contract negotiations, performance on the pitch, player profiles, player reactions in news items, team talks etc.

(there are sixteen titles in the game, including 'Jinxed' which is awarded should you continually lose cup finals ...)

Previously players who got knocks with the green plus sign used to just be forced to be taken off, and we get the relief of finding out the injury was a minor one post-match. Unless this replaces those instances where it says the players got a knock, and their condition just goes down? That happens as well

Previously a 'red' badge forced you to sub a player, the green badge affects them (both condition and performance a bit) but they can play on - sometimes they'll recover their condition back, sometimes not (same as in real-life).

The idea is that this ensures people don't 'miss' something which might adversely affect their teams performance because they were only watching the overview and didn't see the badge appear, if you don't want to sub the player and are happy for him to continue then you just hit ignore and things roll on.

(as with a lot of the changes this is intended to ensure people make informed decisions without making the game more complicated and a lot slower)

I've been clear I think the purple has been something I personally find awful, and I get SI has branded its image around it. The existing tactics screen was the nicest screen for me, and any "reworked design for the Squad and Tactics screen" that adds even more of that purple to it will be a negative to me

Just to be clear this is NOT the tactics page and that remains as it was before.

Previously if you 'tapped' on a player position button on the squad page or tactics then a dialog appeared to allow you to switch players, this had little information and could be awkward to use if you didn't know your team because of that.

That dialog is what this replaces, it gives you more information on what you're doing to allow you to make quicker and more informed decisions in that one specific area.

If you use drag and drop for team selection like I do then this isn't a page you'll see a lot of tbh, but for people who use it - it should be a big improvement.

Very constructive and useful and I've made notes on the items you've asked for, but I'm not going to comment upon them partially because I've already taken up quite a bit of space on this thread replying to you and partially because until I know for sure whether I can sneak specific things into an update I don't want to get your hopes up.

There’s evolving like beginning to walk on 2 legs and then there’s evolving like developing a slightly longer pinky toe.  FMM is doing more of the latter.
Is there anything like more options for positions like Mez or WCB, deeper finances, better contract offers and clauses, deeper tactics, control of the reserves, etc, etc, etc.  I haven’t seen anything substantial.
We can now pat our players on the back and be called a hair dryer.

    I mean come on.

In all honesty it sounds like you want to play FM PC on a mobile device and I'd recommend you give FMT/C a spin as that is more akin to that version (I've been involved in both versions and am equally passionate about both, I'd prefer everyone to play the version which suits them best tbh, its not possible to make the 'perfect' game which everyone will love and have time to play - hence we do several variants).

II'll have to check. I really should pay more attention. As she keeps telling me....

I hope the team talks can still be turned off 🙏 Speeding through a few matches in FMM is its strength and the team talks feel like a chore for me.

Yes team-talks are entirely optional as always (incidentally if you leave them on and just 'continue' through them then they do the neutral one which is exactly what occurs when they're turned off btw - the idea is that they shouldn't be intensive at all because you only really need to do them if you have a strong feeling about what you're seeing on the pitch really and want to praise or abuse the team or an individual).

I hope I still have the Netflix premium account so I can play on my phone. If not I obviously won't be paying the extra £££ to allow Netflix on multiple devices as I only really watch the odd thing with the wife on the big telly. That's the sad crux and reality . I'd love to support it and play it but circumstances may dictate otherwise.

That shouldn't restrict you as you're allowed two devices active at a time on a standard plan I believe - so she can watch TV while you game or vice versa etc.

"Netflix allows different numbers of simultaneous streams depending on the plan. On both versions of the standard plans, you can have up to two devices streaming at the same time. This goes up to four simultaneous connections on the Premium plan."

I see that the games on Netflix do not have in app purchases. Will this be the same for FM Mobile? I always buy the in game editor each year will I still be able to purchase it for FMM24? Or will in app purchases no longer be included? Or will these all be automatically unlocked as part of the game? I have not seen any details on these anywhere.

There won't be any in-app purchases on FMM24 - instead some items will be available from the get go and others will be purely unlockable within the game via. gameplay.

So for example the editor is free and available from the get-go, as is national team management.

The new “features” are a couple of fluffy text options and badges and a roster update.

It’s the exact same game except so can pat a player on the shoulder after a game and you added a badge or two.

    This is heartbreaking.

For obvious reasons I'm not going to comment upon a lot of things on this thread - however with regards to the 'badge or two' comment which I presume refers to the manger 'title' feature - this is far more than that in the game.

The best way of describing it is the game responding to your playing style and the people within it (managers, coaches, players etc.) recognizing that and reacting accordingly. So for instance if you're particularly disgruntled in your team-talks on a continued basis you might pick up the 'Hair Dryer' title where your reputation proceeds you for being aggressive with your players and staff.

This can be both a positive and negative in the game - it'll motivate some players and some will love your enthusiasm and determination to win, others though might wilt in the fire and want to leave (or avoid joining) your club ... all the titles have similar effects based upon what was considered realistic for them, very few are 'purely positive' or 'purely negative' and each causes effects based on similar things in the real-world. So for example if you get a reputation as a 'Relegation Specialistic' (ie. someone who helps small teams avoid relegation) then that sort of club will want to hire you and players will have faith that you can do well in those circumstances ... but it might actually work against you and larger clubs ignore you because you're associated with struggling clubs etc.

(this feature follows my usual approach of a feature not having to be 'big and flashy' - but instead aiming to add depth and hopefully make the game more enjoyable for users without slowing down the gameplay)

  19. 2 hours ago, jamie_B_105 said:

Doesn't look hugely different to last year’s game... Features look particularly the same. With the build-up I presumed we would be having whole sail changes

The game is something that evolves rather than radically changes - this is intentional tbh and unlikely to ever change, people seem to enjoy the game and it is better to evolve and evolve and improve it (while listening to feedback/reviews) - than to suddenly radically change it in a manner which might alienate people ... I do understand the alure of 'new and funky' styling or approaches to people, but the game being playable and enjoyable is first and foremost in my mind when we design and improve it.

Ill be sure to check it out. But still no swedish leagues? I cant think the license is very expensive…

I'm afraid the specific leagues which are in the game (and the cost of licenses) isn't something I'm involved in - often such things are partially determined by interest/user base in a specific region and that regions interest to people in other areas, my hope is one day we'll have every league in the world in the game ... but that might be a while in the future ;)

PS - It might interest some people to know that as well as the announced features there will (as usual) be a number of other enhancements present such goal droughts (and related media/effects), the expansion of the game database size (and more national teams manageable because of it) and the optimization of the game engine to make it even faster - these aren't 'exciting' but will help make the game more enjoyable for a people :)
