Have you noticed this on any of the latest versions? It's one we've struggled to reproduce but hesitant to close it off just yet.

I did, I bring you an example from my most recent save. Guardiola moving to milan in 2025 for a 3 mln/year contract, against the 20 mln contract he had just 3 years prior at City

  2. I come back also for this issue with my findings after the update. On this side, there have been huge improvements honestly, but for some reason the machanic is still broken in some countries, such as Spain, where teams still refuse to loan their B team players for no actual reason when they are clearly too good to play in the B team.

The two Barca players I attach were made unavailable for loan for 2 years straight. Barca B is playing in the 3rd division, while these players have a CA that ranges from 130 to 140. They should clearly:

    - be moved to the first team and not the B team and possibly used in the first team rotations, or

    - be loaned to a bigger team, ideally in some European first level league and not be left to rust in the third division, for which they are clearly too good for and get no development out of.

Same thing for the real madrid Japanese guy. Not only he is probably too good for the second league, but he is also not registrable for the B team for some reason, as many of Real Madrid B players, so he is going to spend years without playing consistently.

Then let's look at Reiner. At the start of the game he is on loan to Girona (La liga) but afterwards he is being set as unavailabe for loan for 2 years straight, one spent playing in the 3rd tier of spanish football, and one in the second. The guy CA in in the mid 130s, so he would be a good first team player for many La Liga's teams.

  3. I come back to post some findings after the update. The situation has improved, but not enough for it to be realistic still. Many clubs still have XL first teams or 2nd teams because they were unable loan most of their young players (nobody made any offers for them) despite being available for loan. I attach some screenshots after the summer transfer market 2023.

  4. The issue is still there, AI managers choices are still too "hierarchical" and sticky and allow for little to not flexiblity. There is too much of a clear cut distinction between first-string players and reserves. I attach the screenshot of a 161CA Julian Alvarrez who almost at the end of the season only started 3 games out of 33 in the league. Same for Rihad Mahrez as you can see. He played a grand total of 6 games in the whole league.

This means that the players used in their place basically started every single game for the whole season.

And in this specific database I am using I gave a 20 in the "squad rotation" attribute to every single manager to try and make it more realistic, so this can be considered as a "best case" scenario.

  5. @Zachary Whyte @Neil Brock this issue was bothering me so much that I went back a downloaded the 2022 Editor to compare. If this is not a bug I don't know what is. There were cleary a lot more options in the 2022 "club vision" panel than in the 2023 "supporters objectives" panel.

The one that bothers me the most is surely "sign players under X age", since its absence makes it impossible to implement a long-lasting vision of buying younger players for a specific team. In 2023, you can only do it by editing the chairman objectives, which obviously will cancel out once a new owner arrives.  But there are many others missing, such as "sign players from domestic rivals" which seems the perfect fit to be something supporters care about.

I do not understand the logic behind this, it makes perfect sense for "sign players under X age" to be an objective of the supporters and part of the "culture" and not only of the board. Especially since objectives such as "sign high reputation players" or "sign players of nationality", which are to all intents and purposes similar, are still there. Also stuff which I have never seen supporters care about in real life such as "make the most of set pieces" is still there.

The previous version (2022) made the database way more customisable and made it easier to have AI teams acting in a realistic way. I cannot see one reason to just reduce the scope of such an excellent feature.

Can you please give us some feedback about this? I think me and many others who posted in this thread would love to have more options for what concerns supporter objectives in FM 2024.

    Thank you.

As we are here to show data... I'm coming

So, last week @Zachary Whytetold us that there would be changes, I told that to know if the issue is fixed it was as simple as simulate ten years and seeing how National Teams looks like... and I simulate until 2030 to see the biggest NT look like.

Let's take a look into Spain

    CapturadePantalla2023-03-03alas22_09_23.thumb.png.aaa24b63e13fbced08a1d29b217afc00.png

2 regens generated into the first NT, let's analyse the players that were in the Spain NT in World Cup 2022 that in 2014 they weren't in the game...:

    - Eric García

    - Alejandro Balde

    - Gavi

    - Dani Olmo

    - Ansu Fati

    - Yeremy Pino

    - Ferrán Torres

    - Nico Williams

8 new players vs 2 players

So we can tell that FM has a 25% of the reality capacity to create new player able to play in the National Teams... but let's try with another team, Spain is a very young squad and can be better to try with another... for example, Brazil

    CapturadePantalla2023-03-03alas22_10_15.thumb.png.4868c0c8a24d07c797c0377893e51385.png

4 new players... it's becoming better... let's analyse the players that were in the 2022 WC squad that in 2014 were 16 age old or less...

    - Vinicius

    - Rodrygo

    - Martinelli

    - Antony

Ok with Brazil... there are improvements, what we can say... let's try with another as Brazil back up were much older than spanish ones. Argentina would be a good pick

    CapturadePantalla2023-03-03alas22_10_45.thumb.png.d9ba24691bb680c3a8fdca4450a71a70.png

Argentina... 2 regens, let's compare with 2022 WC

    - Romero

    - Nehuén

    - Nahuel

    - Enzo

    - Almada

    - Exequiel

    - Julián Álvarez

Another case as Spain... FM gives Argentina a 70% less percentage of creating NT players, 7 in reality vs 2 in FM

Let's see France... this is gonna be fun

    CapturadePantalla2023-03-03alas22_12_03.thumb.png.9166f2a6b62568152fc1b4dedaa5bf22.png

ONE DAMN PLAYER, let's compare with the players generate France since 2014...

    - Koundé

    - Saliba

    - Konaté

    - Disasi

    - Tchouameni

    - Camavinga

    - Guendouzi

    - Mbappé

    - Kolo Muani

9 against 1!!!! Well done SI!!!! It's so realistic!!!!!!

Let's try with Portugal... hope it will be better:

    CapturadePantalla2023-03-03alas22_12_39.thumb.png.1f8bdf5d60056e79c565bba8b99a2aa9.png

4 players... lets compare with WC 2022...

    - Diogo Costa

    - Antonio Silva

    - Dalot

    - Vitinha

    - Nunes

    - Leao

    - Joao Félix

    - Gonçalo Ramos

8 vs 4... amazing, we are improving, FM has the capability of generate the 50% of the newgens Portugal does... let's end with England...

    CapturadePantalla2023-03-03alas22_14_06.thumb.png.71204e91c78aefdb066ae2beca7a13e9.png

3 players... let's compare with raw reality...

    - Ramsdale

    - Trent

    - Jude

    - Gallagher

    - Rice

    - Mount

    - Foden

    - Saka

    8 vs 3 to end... let's summarize

    Spain: 8 vs 2

    Brazil: 4 vs 4

    Argentina: 7 vs 2

    France: 9 vs 1

    Portugal: 8 vs 4

    England: 8 vs 4

Result: Reality 44 vs 19 for the reality, and I have to admit that the patch improves it significantly.

To summarize, in this 6 teams, where the first and second division were loaded, the game can only replicate the 43,18 % of the newgens that reality can generate. Count this with all the teams and think how a save in 2032 could look like... completely broken.

With the other countries is worse, for example if you go to Serbia and Croatia there is not newgens... Serbia and Croatia, of course I have to accept that in those countries there are no new wonderkids...of course SI

The database I am using includes 13 countries and more than 20 playable leagues, so there's no excuse for this.

It's a known issue since October 2022 and it's so easy to analyse like I just did, so no more excuses please. The youth development is broken as never before 2022. For my part, I won't put any euro in your account until I see data here that it is solved, but I know that it won't have any consequence. Would like to think that maybe if we do enough noise SI will fix it... but it seems impossible.

Yeah, those results are actually quite depressing. The issue is not fixed and the game is still pretty broken.

    Oh jesus...

Hi apologise for the lack of updates - our team would love to get more examples. Do you have another save game where it shows clearly that a team cannot loan their players out, please?

I actually get a bit worried when I read this kind of stuff.
Seriously, you have not been noticing that EVERY team in the game has either XL first teams or B teams full of rotting prospects?
Like, seriously? You need specific examples from us like this happens only in some isolated instance?

That this is one of the main reasons why teams are full of 30 something yrs old after some years?

I mean, I played for like 10 hours and it seems like I understand this game’s flaws better than the people actually MADE the game

It is just disappointment after disappointment SI, let me tell you that

  8. I mean, I would have to download back FM22 in order to provide you with a list.

what is sure is that there are fewer options: “Buy players below the age of” is one, but there are many more that I cannot recall at the moment.

i would just like to know what is the rationale for this, especially when you guys do not even seem to be aware of this change. I do not want to express a feature request, I would just like to have an answer on the “why” since it seems a nosensical to remove part of a good feature that was implemented like 2 years ago.
