Sorry if I wasn't clear. That's what I am saying -- he counts as EU because of his French second nationality.
Spurs08 I think you are probably right -- I'd be hoping for something north of $70 million, which limits the number of suitors. I doubt it's a bug. Sounds like I might be stuck.
It's just a mystery to me why some guys have everyone from Schalke to Valencia to Huddersfield coming in hot for them every year, and others of seemingly similar ability it's just crickets.
Yeah, I don't think the game logic is brilliant there to be honest. To me it basically looks like it lacks variety - most AI managers broadly 'think' the same way and therefore reach the same decision on which targets to go for, whereas in real life some would have different priorities and therefore prefer a different option the FM algorithm has decided is very marginally less attractive such as your player. That does mean that you can sometimes have more luck later in the window though once those prior targets are gone, so keep trying!

Thanks for your replies.
We've been in the CL for three or four years running. We managed to win it season before last (maybe that's for the thread about the game being too easy!). So he should be well known in Europe. Consistently strong performer -- led the league in assists one season, average ratings the last three years in the league are 7.48 , 7.32, and 7.70.
You might be wondering at this point why I want to sell. Well I have two other guys I could rotate into the AMC slot who are about as good, plus one more out on loan, and this guy is the only one interested in leaving.
It does seem harsh, but I can kinda see it. Probably safe to say he only wants to move to another CL club, and only the English ones plus a select few others (e.g. Munich, Juventus, Real and Barca) may be able to meet the demands for both likely transfer fee + wages (with him likely to ask for a significant bump above his already big wage). He is a very good player, but I'd say borderline to be a starter at such a club. It might be one worth posting in the bugs forum and uploading for SI to have a look at, but equally it might just be a fairly odd situation.

I successfully installed the game on other pc with windows 7, so the problem it's most likely the windows 10 or maybe the pc(less likely). Now i'm thinking of switching back XP i know it's not safe but at least i can play older games because with Windows 10 it seems hard to achive that + seems and i feel my pc more faster with XP maybe because my pc is from 2007
Yeah, if your PC is that old it very, very likely doesn't actually meet the requirements to even run Windows 10, which won't be helping matters. If it's viable for you, you're probably best off as you say just rolling back to Windows XP and if possible keeping the system offline to avoid the security risks since only Windows 8 and 10 receive security updates now.

Right now, players are auto-fined under the Code of Conduct even if you successfully appeal and it is deemed the red card was wrongly given. This seems very harsh! I believe that either the fine should not happen at all if you decide to appeal (as you're effectively saying you do not believe the player should have been dismissed and rather that the officials made an error), or at least should not be given until and unless the appeal is rejected.

Yup, this happens all the time. There is that "unsettling thing", but come on - it is not possible that for almost 10 years in save clubs are trying to "unsettle" my players and nothing else.
And yet, in background, clubs are not "unsettling" each other, but buying and selling players for normal and sometimes absurd amounts of money. So how about to "level" things a bit? AI to AI and AI to human player transfers are not equal. Period. For example, Burnley will buy player who's worth 20M from Brighton and will pay 30-40M for him. But that to happen to us? NEVER!
If you want to buy one specific player, the price will be high, because you're in an awful negotiating position. If you want to sell a player, the price will be low, because you're in an awful negotiation position.
If you have a shortlist of 5-10 options for a position, keep any eye on them for a few months, try to unsettle and make a bid on the most available option at the right time, the price will be low. If you just reject poor offers for your players, aren't actively trying to offer them out or transfer list them, don't pay huge wages and make sure they have at least 2 years left on their contracts, the price will be high.
Lots of players think the AI is cheating because they find it hard to buy and hard to sell. The truth is that they're making it hard by being very short-term focussed and concentrating only on their ideal outcome, while the AI will often simply not sign up to a bad deal and will move on to a Plan B instead.
@dking Assuming you've got on reason to want to sell those players, why not just set it to auto-reject the low bids?

Maybe we should stop taking the argument literally and consider the actual point. The match engine in terms of graphics and performance in particular is nowhere remotely close to the standards of other modern games, and a regression from 3+ years ago. It therefore needs to be the absolute top priority for SI.

Wondering what they would do with drinks breaks, apparently there's talks of keeping that going forward. Four team talks per match, anyone?
Also, the number of substitutions, stadium attendances, financial impact, staff layoffs... Definitely not an easy task for SI, considering no one really knows how the whole thing will pan out.
Number of substitutions is dead easy - anybody who knows how to use the editor could literally change that in 5 minutes. I also can't imagine temporarily lowering all stadium capacities is particularly difficult. But the drinks breaks and the other impacts to the game you mentioned, as well as the fixture scheduling, will be harder.

You're right, it is often about finding a solid middle ground between piling men forward and just sitting back and inviting pressure. The best way to defend is to not let them have the ball. Pressing etc is risky, so if I'm defending a lead I'll probably take that off, go to Standard or Cautious, and be content to let them keep the ball if they already have it. But at the same time I will keep a couple of players forward to provide some threat and ensure they can't just pile everyone up front themselves and to make sure I've got a sensible formation to keep the ball.

I think the game's director at one point said it was, but it's either been removed or is extraordinarily rare. Sometimes the UK doesn't leave at all, but I've never heard of it rejoining.

It's a known bug. Watford and Udinese have the same owners, and in-game this results in the clubs moving players between each other for free. But then the AI for some broken reason also accepts equal, £0 bids from other clubs.

What exactly is he unhappy about? It sounds like he wants you to resolve whatever that issue is rather than leave the club. And it's not silly of him - he has good leverage since this is clearly an awkward situation for you to deal with, and he knows that if his contract expires and he lives on a free he'll be able to negotiate a monstrous signing-on fee/wages with somebody else.

Just loaded up FM17 after reading this. And I was amazed by how much better it is in terms of graphics and performance. All the gubbins added to the most recent versions have slown it down, made it much less clean, and the actual in-match graphics have gone massively downhill.
16 -
But when you play as Queens Park, you don't really get this issue. It happens because you've got such a huge pool of rubbish amateur clubs, all looking for amateur players, and there's such a small difference between the leagues (since FM is not designed around levels that low) that players will happily jump between them.

Thanks for your replies. I tried with 9.3.1 patch and there is no need for activation but the problem still remains because when i run the game i get kicked without warning in the part where shows "let's kick out of football racism"
If you have some other tips share to me...otherwise i will need to try on other pc with windows 10 and to other with windows 7 to see if the problem it's the windows or maybe my computer because i can't see 3rd part
In that case it probably is a compatibility issue unfortunately. Try running the game in compatibility mode*, but the supported operating systems are Windows XP and Windows Vista; there's obviously no guarantee of it working at all on other systems.
(*To do this, go to wherever you installed the same, then right-click fm, select Properties, then Compatibility, and tick the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Here, try selecting Windows Vista Service Pack 2, then try the others if it still doesn't work.

Have you tried this patch to disable the activation? Might not be the cause but worth a shot

Because football isn't just about the quality of players. It's about motivation, confidence, cohesion. A team that gets off too a bad start through sheer bad luck - which is a big factor too! - often ends up in a downward spiral, whereas a lesser team that has a good run of form can end up doing something special.
1 -
There's a three-way tie, so you can't just look at two of those teams. You have a better record against Valencia, Valencia have a better record against Dortmund, and Dortmund have a better record against you. So what happens is that in effect a 'mini-league' is calculated based on the results between the three of you, and sadly you're only second in that.

Yep, they can be wrong sometimes - it's worth a go! The trait is fine IMO for CBs, but if you're planning to play him elsewhere then trying to get rid of it makes sense.
My understanding is that the coach you select and their attributes make zero difference whatsoever.

Yes, I'm playing in the Scottish Premiership, and I feel like these young players have the potential to outgrow the league. It's a bit odd that they aren't getting better at all, though. I understand them not becoming world class when playing in Scotland, but their development has stopped altogether rather than just slowing down.
The Scottish Premiership is pretty notorious. The top teams are totally dominant, with the rest of the league playing at a much lower level. So if these are some of the better players at the best club, they're going to be playing against really weak opposition i.e. an English Premier League quality player against League One-quality sides. I'd still expect some improvement and I'm sure there will be over time, but it's going to be slow and they'll never reach their full potential.

The US is the main country to use the word "soccer", but they wouldn't have a "soccer manager", they have a "head coach". The biggest one I can think of where "soccer management" might be used is Ireland, but generally "football management" is the term you're looking for.

Two possibilities I think. 1) is that you failed financial fair play - although first season that does seem unlikely! Second is that English teams won both the Champions League and Europa League while not finishing in the Top 4, and both the EFL Cup and FA Cup winners also finished outside the Top 5. Obviously that's gonna be exceedingly rare, but worth looking just in case? As in that scenario the Top 3 and the two European winners would get CL, and 4th plus the two cup winners would get EL, leaving you out of Europe.

Try turning it down to High or Medium. Even if you have a pretty good graphics card performance is, unfortunately, laughably poor even when the graphics are nowhere near the quality you'll get in other games.

It'll be a problem with the edited file unfortunately. You're probably best off contacting the creator and if that files posting in the Editor section of this forum, but even if you do manage to fix it you'd need to start a new game. A good rule of thumb is to holiday into the future before starting a save with any file you're unfamiliar with and check for stuff like this.

I doubt it's deliberately adaptable. But it might be a side-effect of the experiment you've run. It means that going into the second season, most attackers have been in great form - their confidence is high and they're likely to continue it. Meanwhile defences will have been playing poorly and may even be dropped by the manager in favour of players who are actually inferior.

They've decided you didn't "challenge for the title", so they're disappointed your league position was only good enough to get CL rather than challenge. The criteria for it is certainly too harsh. From what I've seen, I think to "challenge for the title" you have to be in with a chance of winning it going into the final match - did that happen here?
