  1. Have not played since they apparently fixed the youth recruitment issue, but now I get a nice upgrade and have this and junior coaching maxed out!
  2. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 13 As a refresher, this is our HOYD, we've spent the last four seasons narrowly avoiding relegation from the Superliga, and we have some nice looking facilities and good finances from big player sales. Now for the intake, and it's a very solid one. For once, the best potential players have the best personalities. I'm keeping the tagged players, but having another DC is nice and we needed more depth in the midfield. Banza 13a will look to break into the first team in the next few seasons, but can serve as a rotation option right away once he turns 16. We have nobody behind our two starting DCs, so his great personality and potential is appreciated Konge 13b has a nice personality and potential, but his attributes are underwhelming. Being both footed with good speed and dribbling is nice, and he can turn into a solid option across the front 3, but I don't like how injury prone and inconsistent he is. We've now got standout defensive midfielders in both of our last two intakes. I like Egeris Paarup 13c for his outstanding mentals, and good tackling and passing. Plus a great personality. The wonderkid list came out as well and we have two players making the cut. First, Andres Hjulmand 11a, who is the best player at the club. At age 17, we have him for 3.5 seasons after this, but will probably look to sell him sooner for the cash. Second, Thomas Andersen Nedergaard 11D. Also aged 17 from that same intake, he's developed real nicely into a good DC option (finally we have players who won't concede 4 goals per match). Similarly, we have him locked up for 3.5 years, although I'm more confident we can ink him to an extension in the future.
  3. Wasn't enjoying the game for a while, but after a few months I've got the itch to come back. Expect the 2036 intake in a couple days.
  4. Not really, I have a couple of 16 year olds that can and will do a job, but they don't have the best CA yet. The issue is that we spent last season fast tracking those guy's development and they're both only 17 and getting sold.
  5. Just as I was looking forward to this season being the one in which we take a step forward, the chairman goes and sells my best two players despite protests and our finances being secure and them having 3 more seasons left under contract.
  6. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 12 We're still stagnating in the league. We finished either 10th or 9th for the fourth season in a row and we actually had 1 less point than last season, although we finished 7 points clear of relegation. Our players took steps to improve this year and towards the end of the season we could consistently score goals for the first time in forever. The issue is that we still concede 2+ in most matches. The defenders developed, but not super rapidly and they're still short. This year's intake did not help much on that front either. We will continue to push forward as we always do. Key players: Finances are never going to be a problem again, which is nice. One set of upgrades to both facilities this year, and another training is in the works. No transfers in, a few out for big money.
  7. And for the first time we have player on this list. Unfortunately this success still hasn't translated to the league since our defense remains horrendous. But have a look at both young wingers from the same intake. Luckily we have both contracted for another year, plus a 3 year extension. So despite their pleas to leave (which have already began to happen), we can force them to stay.
  8. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 12 Pretty confused by this intake in general. There are a lot of seemingly similar talent players, and I don't know which ones will be almost at their PA and which have room to grow. Overall, happy with some positive personalities, but disappointed our best prospects are in the positions we didn't need. This was the first intake for the new HOYD taken from Nordsjaelland who replaced our HOYD of 5 years. Toft Kristiansen 12a has the CA to contribute right away since he is of age as well. Great finisher, will play striker to start, but can fill in on the wing if needed and has a good personality. If he wasn't so short, I would have trained Rami 12b as a striker as well. Instead, he furthers the case that we should switch to a 4-2-3-1 from a 4-3-3 with a DM, since he really doesn't have the physical attributes to stick further back in the midfield. De Biase 12c will stick it out in the reserve as we have 2 young keepers better than him, but if he develops well with the Driven personality, he will get a chance to impress.
  9. Brønshøj BK - State of the Squad Season 12 I have been adjusting the specific roles a lot from game to game, as well as some of the instructions, but our 4-3-3 shape has stayed the same for the most part. GKs: Lauritzen 10c will start this year, but possibly rotate time with Nyegaard 09d. Both have potential and both have shown signs of development. Lauritzen 10c has developed faster, which is why he's the starter, but I'd be foolish not to give both game time so we have options in case one eventually forces his way out to a better team. DRs: We're so weak at this position that our choices are either the backup DL in Bredel 09h, the not-so-great 16 year-old from last intake in De Biase 11f, or the winger retrained as a fullback in Krogh 10e. He can't tackle or play much defense, but we're so deep in the attacking areas and so weak here, it makes sense to give Krogh 10e a chance to develop and play every day if he can learn the position and put in some decent performances. DLs: We're even weaker on the left with either the aforementioned Bredel 09h or the longest-tenured first team player still at the club in Montell 04f. Neither are great options and it's a reason why we struggle to compete in the league, our defense is very shaky still. DCs: It gets slightly better, but not much, in the center slot. We don't have a player much taller than 6'0" here, and they're all pretty much equally poor. Ronnow 10d and Nedergaard 11d will start since they seem to have the most potential, but Syndergaard 10f and Green 09i will get chances to impress as rotation options. DMs: Our midfield has lost a lot of its strength in recent years with players refusing to commit their futures to the club. Right now, at the DM spot, Strudal 09c is our starter, but he seems to have hit his ceiling and not developed in the second half of last season. Mouritsen 08f will back him up, but he hasn't developed at all really during his time at the club. CMs: In the two CM slots, we don't have much depth or talent at all. Ejsing 08c is the best here, but hasn't developed well lately. He's also not physically suited to the what we ask out of our midfielders. Risum 10j needs to kick on his development, but I have hope that an extended spell in the first team will provide a boost. Given the lack of depth here and the glut of talent in the attacking areas, I will be retraining Brandt 11e as a CM. AMLs: The strength of our team is at the AML position. Holm 10b is a top player based on CA at the club, and developed very nicely last season with lots of first team opportunities. Hjulmand 11a is the top prospect from last year's intake and will get time off the bench to impress, whether that's on the left or the right. The AMR position is almost as strong. Hagedorn 10a is a star and Knudsen 11b is a solid option off the bench. We have only one ST slot for three players needing first team action, which is less than ideal. Eg 08b and Andersen 08g are the first two options. They both didn't develop as much as IU had hoped last year, so they will have to kick things on this season or risk being overtaken by Wurtz 11c, who has looked promising in the preseason fixtures. The depth chart in the attacking positions in particular will change at the end of the year based on which of the players in last year's intake develop the best. Those are Hjuland 11a and Knudsen 11b on the wings. Wurtz 11c up top and Brandt 11e in the midfield. Nedergaard 11d could not improve at all and still be a starter since we have no defenders. As an extra part, let's look at our other products who have moved to bigger clubs. We sold Aaquist 07a to Porto for $2M plus a 50% clause a few years ago. We sold Gerits 08e also to Porto for just a 50% clause last winter. Sondergaard 08a left us on a free a year and a half ago and has since signed for Milan. And Tonsberg Spelmann 09a left just this summer for $9M plus 50% to Dortmund. Safe to say our team would be a whole lot better with these four still in it. Especially the defense.
  10. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 11 Did we stay up on the final day for a third consecutive season, yes. Did we look slightly more promising and began to beat more than just the two promoted teams, also yes. Are the promoted teams coming up next year stronger than any of the promoted teams we've ever had, yes. Are we ready to have another fighting season, not yet. We need to do a squad overhaul in the offseason since we have a bunch of deadweight now. I will do a squad update post shortly and outline our team, This year was the year of big money transfers. Starting with some not-so-big money, Gerits 08e was set to leave on a free, so with just over 6 months on his contract we sold him to an interested Porto side (who had previously bough Aaquist 07a) for no money, but with a 50% of next sale clause. I think we absolutely fleeced them given that they could have signed him to a pre-contract if they waited a few days. Not sure we will ever make anything off that clause, but it's better than nothing. Using our sell-on clause for Aaquist 07a, the board negotiated a $9M offer to sell the clause. I was tempted to take it, but we had also just agreed to sell our best player, Tonsberg Spelmann 09a, for $9M upfront plus a 50% clause to Dortmund. He was going to leave on a free in just over 6 months, so we cashed in. Aaquist 07a still has 2 years left on his Porto deal, so if he doesn't get sold next summer I will attempt to sell the clause. (Check back for the squad update to see our key players) This balance will jump to closer to $10M when the Tonsberg Spelmann deal goes through on the 1st of July. There are pending upgrades to both training and youth, and then I will try to upgrade both again midseason to offset our transfer income for tax purposes. No transfers in, but a few minor outs in January.
  11. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 11 Another nice intake, but again full of attacking players when we need solid defenders. I might have to switch to a 4-2-3-1 from a 4-3-3 with a DM, given the amount of attacking talent we've acquired in the last few seasons. I have too many options to develop everyone at striker, so will have to figure out loans out for next season. Hjulmand 11a doesn't look to have the attributes of a 3.5 star CA player for us. A Light-Hearted personality isn't great for development, but professionalism and ambition could still be decent, just no guarantees. The shift in formations might be necessary to get him on the field if he develops over the next offseason. I have tons of depth up top and on the wings, so not sure where to fit Knudsen 11b in. He looks solid for both positions and hopefully has good PA. We desperately need more DCs, so Nedergaard 11d will be given every chance to develop. I'm sure he will get a fair few sendings off with that aggression.
  12. This might answer some of your question. It could also be that the chairman doesn't place enough importance on developing youth and doesn't give that upgrade option anymore.
  13. Brønshøj BK - Review and Youth Intake Season 10 It's easy to fly through the season when you know you're going to get blown out in half your games, will win handily in a few games, and have to actually play the last bits. Finished on the same amount of points, and managed to stay up again by just beating the newly-promoted sides. Case in point, we lost to the top 4 teams 0-4, 0-6, 0-4, 1-3, 1-1 (!), 0-6, 1-3, 0-3 but then we beat Viborg, who went down, 4-2, 4-0, 1-0, and 7-0. With losing a couple of good first team players, developing a couple first team players, and losing a couple first team players, I don't expect much different for the next season. All these current players we're given professional contracts after we turned pro, so they could either reject the contract, or reject a long contract. Starting next season, we will have first team players tied down to 3+3 contracts signed on intake day, They will not be able to leave on frees like everyone else and hopefully turn us into a midtable side, ready to take the next step. Also, sad time for the club as Ali Arslan 01a decided to leave on a free to go play in Turkey rather than resign with us. He wasn't getting as much playing time anymore, but he was a Driven team leader, great for mentoring, and a mainstay for almost 10 seasons at the club, so sad to see him go. Who's who of still around players: And of course the intake. I signed everyone to 3+3 deals, so when these guys develop, we can keep them against their will to improve our squad. Or that is the hope. Tons of wingers in this intake. Hagedorn 10a looks very promising if he has the potential. He will start next season when he is 16. Holm 10b looks slighty less talented, but I can give him a run in the first team after Sondergaard 08a leaves. Excited to have a good defender in Ronnow 10d (and to a lesser extend Syndergaard 10f). Both are a bit short, that's the only downside. Finances are slightly down from last year and facilities are the same, but we just pumped ~$3M into upgrades to both youth and training facilities set to be completed in September. And of course no transfers in.
  14. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 9 This was a tough year, but one we barely did enough to stay in the top flight (and in the money). The gap between the top teams, and most of the teams in the top flight in general, is a stark departure from the parity present in the rest of the Danish pyramid. We're going to struggle next year since Kenneth Aaquist 07a, Mark Nielsen 03c, and Christian Provstgaard 04a all refuse to sing full time deals (after the entire season of being unhappy) as they want to play for stronger teams. They are all out of contract next January, so I will look to cash in on Aaquist 07a and probably just keep the other two since they're not worth much. The only good news is that there are going to be two newly promoted teams next year that we can hopefully finish ahead of, and we will continue to earn money and develop players with full time training. A few of our key players: Finances and facilities look much better than a year ago, and of course no transfers in.
  15. And a sneak peek on how the rest of the season went. It's adubious record, but no complaints here.
  16. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 9 Couple of solid players who hopefully have the potential to be regular starters. Having full time training has certainly helped player growth, so I have more hope for some of the lower ability players now than I did in the past. As I've learned with this save, 5* potential can either mean lots of room to improve, or the CA is already almost at the PA. If the former is the case here, Spelmann 09a has a solid future as a BWM(S) Gjøg 09b projects behind the star of last year's intake as an IW(S) on the left, but has solid attributes and a good personality. Strudal 09c has some pretty bad traits, but if he develops he can be in the mix as the RGA(S).
  17. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 8 The intake may not have been very exciting, but the league campaign was. We cruised to the title on 75 points, the league record being 78, winning the NordicBet Liga for the first time since 1992. We made it through the preliminary phase without a defeat, but once promotion and the title was secured, and we had to play midweek matches every week in the promotion stage, we slipped up and lost a few. Still, a great seasn that sets us up nicely for the financial windfall of making the top flight. We turned professional at the end of the season, and the next step will be getting everyone on full time deals. Only two of our best players refuse to sign a new deal, so they will be part time for now until they get over it. Both are contracted for the next year and a half minimum. One of them is Aaquist 08a, who I though would get poached in January last year due to the bug. I was able to get him to sign a new deal and increase his wages substantially and that made teams have to bid for him, and I could reject those offers. Another youth player on a smaller part time contract teams were still able to poach due to the bug. Luckily, I was able to offer improved terms and he surprisingly chose to stay put and sign the new deal. I don't know what the exact threshold is to protect from the bug, but it won't matter anymore as we are turning pro. A few of our key players: The finances look solid and will only improve next season. I held off on any more upgrades as I don't want to stretch our balance too thin and not be able to offer full time contracts to our players. As always, no transfers in.
  18. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 8 No absolute stars like last year, but this looks to be a real solid all around intake. The facilitiy upgrades are showing in the depth of talent we produce. The only issue is poor personalities and us being a semi-pro club that can hamper their development. None of these guys can step into the firs team right away, but will hopefully have roles in the future. Joakim Søndergaard 08a is going to be retrained on the left as an IW(S), since we don't play with attacking midfielders through the center. He looks quite talented, there's just no way of knowing whether he has the hidden attributes to develop, nor the PA itself. Marc Eg 08b on the other hand needs more time to develop, but looks to have a good personality. Would have been nice to have more height given our lone strikers is asked a lot of in the air, but he's not short and he is quick to boot, so looks promising. Will retrain Kenneth Ejsing 08c to play that regista role, since he doesn't have the physical attributes to play as a CM(A) or on the wing in our system. I wish the vision attribute was higher than 7, but he can do a job as a playmaker.
  19. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 7 Did slightly better than last season as we got into the promotion stages then proceeded to lose most of our matches. We actually finished with one less point than last year in the preliminary phase, although we finished with a 0 goal difference for the second year straight. The two teams that got relegated and promptly went back up were much better than the rest of the division. Looking for a few more youth next year to build depth and eventually get into the top flight. The cost of the jump from Good to Excellent youth recruitment and junior coaching put a pretty large dent in our finances, so it would be nice to get to the top flight sooner rather than later. Especially since we can then start saving the money to turn professional and therefore not lose any more of our players due to the free transfer bug. A few of our key youth players: The exceptional prize money is just about keeping our finances afloat for now, although I will hold off on any more facility upgrades until we turn pro. Just one B team player on the out this year, no transfers in.
  20. Unfortunately, it seems like the bug with Danish sides being able to offer players contracts even if they are under a part-time contract already still exists. So I expect to make the most out of the half season we'll have him for before another team is able to sign him on a free. Despite the fact that we have him contracted for 3+2 years.
  21. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 7 A few days before the intake we received some of our prize money for the league, allowing a couple of upgrades. The one thing we needed was a good DC, and this one will do quite nicely. Outside of this, there's not much going on, but it's a sign of progress to get to the point at which the entire intake doesn't become first team players right away. Aaquist 07a is a beast. Tall, not slow, both footed, Driven personality, and actually has technical ability to defend and even play with the ball at his feet. He's already 16 so will start every game possible until he leaves the club, he's that talented. Sundberg 07b looks promising if not for having a poor personality. I don't think he will develop much, but he will be able to provide cover at both wingback positions next season.
  22. Brønshøj BK - Review Season 6 An up and down season, but I guess that's something I'd desire for the first year in the mostly professional second tier. We still are semi-pro, but we earned $1.2 million in prize money and TV money across the season, so we're set up well to be able to push on for more upgrades so long as we can avoid relegation. After a terrible start to the season, then almost sneaking into the promotion stage, we almost threw away our 13 point cushion and it took a 3 match win streak at the end of the year to avoid relegation. (It didn't help that the team we were 13 points ahead of had only 1 loss in the next 8) Next year the goal is to do the same, our squad is better, but still worse than the opposition in every aspect. We desperately need some defenders next intake as our DC are short and not very talented. A few of our key youth players: A look at our healthy finances, with a couple chunks taken out for facility upgrades, and the lack of transfers except a team in our division poaching our backup GK for their youth team. We have so many GKs that I didn't care to offer him an improved contract to stay.
  23. Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 6 A solid intake overall. I would have preferred one or two solid defenders, but having an influx of talent in the midfield would have been my second choice. Ali Arslan 01a needs a partner in the center and Christian Provstgaard 04a has been kicking up a fuss about wanting to go to a bigger club, so to have 2 potential M(C) and 1 DM(C) as starters as soon as next season, that's great! While not many of the intake have a great personality, few of them have bad personalities, so a step in the right direction. Jesper Thevis 06a will provide cover for the first team next year. He turns 16 in a month and a half, so will be able to play right out of the gate next year. A reasonable passer, with reasonable physical attributes fits perfect for what I want out of my CM(A). The only reason Thevis 06a won't start next to Arslan 01a next year is this guy. He's just as good technically and physically, but a bit taller with a better personality. I've going to have to decide whether to play him and Arslan 01a as CM(A) or have this guy as a BWM(S). His birthday is also in a month and a half, so he will start next season. I like Mejer 06g, he seems to have solid stats to be a future starter on the wing. A fairly professional personality helps too.
  24. This is great, I'm eyeing a return to the Caribbean at some point!
